Our trip from Madrid (ha ha) to Brussels was something we planned and dreamed about for months in advance, and it did not disappoint. In Paris, we got to see in person things from films and history textbooks; in Barcelona, we discovered and loved places we had never heard about before; and in visiting family, we realized how much more there was out there to explore. But perhaps the best part of it all, was spending time together and learning more about ourselves as we tried new things and got lost in old places.
 Arriving in Barcelona...
When we finally made it into the city we were starving, exhausted and wired all at once. A quick pit stop at McDonald's on the side of Las Ramblas recharged us just in time to catch the wrong bus, yet we still managed to see a lot of the city that day.

 Gothic Quarter
Not all who wander are lost.
 Monastery of Monsterrat
We took a day trip to the beautiful Monastery of Monsterrat, where a 'quick' detour to a photo spot led to an uphill hour-long hike.
Notre Dame Cathedral This was the first tourist destination we went to in Paris. Seeing the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Siene and the Eiffel Tower outside of the printed page was breathtaking.
 Paris The City of Love
 Chateau de Versailles
From the lavish Greek god inspired rooms, to the magnificent Hall of Mirrors, to the beautiful gardens, Versailles was everything I ever dreamed. Not only was it a perfect day, but I got to experience it with the perfect woman.

 The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
Beaufort Castle was an astounding place. Nestled in the mountains of Luxembourg near Little Switzerland - sheep included - this gigantic architectural feat has stood for almost a millennium and survives so well that you can imagine exactly what life was like there hundreds of years ago.
