1: Geographical overview | Hip Hop originated in Africa. There were people called Griots who traveled as poets. Some were taken as slaves were there music spread in America. Jamaican style hip hop called toasting, was the act of speaking in a fast pace over a rhythm. This evolved over time and contributed to modern hip hop music.
2: MCing | The term MC has no proven acronym but is reported to stand for Master of ceremonies or Microphone controller. An MC is the person who raps in a song. MCing used to be looked at as someone who supports the DJ. Rapping is when you rhyme words over a musical background.
3: DJing | DJing and MCing come hand and hand. DJing is the support system for the MCs. DJs is an acronym for disc jockey and is the act of using pre-recorded records sometimes mixing them. An example of a dj is DJ kool Herc, a man who produced the song rappers delight.
4: Graphitti | Graphitti is the art of drawing in public places. Graphitti has many different styles like Bubble and wavy. graphitti is present in big cities like new York, And has become a way of life over time. Graphitti originated when a mail courier decided to write his name (Vic) and his ID number (156) at every destination he arived in.
5: Break Dancing | Break Dancing first showed up in clubs during the 70s. This form of dance contains two types of dance moves the 6-step and the top rock, from there other moves are preformed to complete the dance. a popular move is the head spin the act of putting your head on the floor below your feet and spinning. This dance contributed deeply to the movement of hip hop.
