7: You came home from the hospital at one tiny day old and had your first doctor's appointment that week. You are growing already! This month you slept a LOT! It was good because Mommy & Daddy were very tired and needed to sleep, too! You didn't ever cry and you loved to cuddle. We didn't lay you down very often, but when we did we put you in your baby swing. Before you were even 4 weeks old you learned to roll over! You rolled from your belly to your back a few times during this month. When you were born, you were in the lower percentiles for height and weight but by the end of this first month you had shot up and were above-average for both height and weight. You're going to be a big, tall guy like Daddy! Also, in the Royal News, Prince George of Cambridge (the son of Prince William & Catherine) was born on July 22nd, so he is just about 8 weeks older than you are!

8: Monday, September 16, 2013 I kept telling Tyler that it MIGHT be time, but we kept waiting. He decided to go to SLEEP, and took a SLEEPING PILL! Around midnight I got in the bath tub to ease the slight pain I was feeling. I was also pretty sure this was THE day so I thought it'd be nice to get one last bath in before I was stuck in the hospital :) ...and finally the contractions got "painful" (not bad, really, just worse than they had been!). I woke Tyler up and said "I'm pretty sure it's time now..." and I remember thinking that he was not going to be able to wake up because he'd taken a sleeping pill. But, he FINALLY did get up and get dressed and we headed out! I had already had our bag packed (for the last few weeks now!) so we were ready. We drove to Regional and when we got there Tyler asked if I wanted him to drop me off at the front door, but I said I was fine... contractions didn't hurt! So he parked on the front row and I got out of the car, and... Couldn’t walk. I tried taking a step and every time I walked I felt like my abdomen was going to explode! So, I got back in the car, and he dropped me off at the front door that we've always gone in, and he went to park. The door was locked. *Is this a joke?* I started walking over to the ER door. It was only 20-30 feet, maybe, but it took me a long time! Every two steps I had to stop and wait on a contraction to pass. THAT is the moment I realized I was having REAL, time-able, painful contractions... AND WAS HAPPY ABOUT IT! It took us a while to get up to L & D since I was stopping so often, but we made it, I told the nurse 'my story' and she said we would check it out. After they plugged me all up to the machines she checked me and then she left.

9: She came back in and said that the doctor on call wanted her to give me some medicine to ease the pain and to help me sleep and see if that would stop the contractions, because I wasn't full term yet so we wouldn't induce. I fell asleep pretty quick and after 2 hours she came back in, checked again, left again, came back again, and said "YOU'RE BEING ADMITTED." ...can you imagine how long I've been waiting to hear those words... Yes, I cried! Tyler didn't understand the significance of this statement!! I turned to him and said, "This means we aren't leaving here without our baby boy!!" It was pretty surreal... I called my mom, and don't even remember what she said because I was so excited, and then I called my sister and she said something along the lines of "I'M ALREADY ON MY WAY!!!" (And seriously, I think she had been sleeping fully-clothed and in the car for the last few weeks, because she was at the hospital within 10 minutes!) I called Jordan (he was asleep and I said he didn't have to come RIGHT NOW, but he came right now!), Rhonda, Rob, & Caitlin and then texted the grands and the people that I didn't think wanted to wake up at 4am :) ... before I finished telling these 8 people my sister was already in the L&D room with me asking what she needed to do, giving my warm Wash cloths for my belly! (They wouldn't give me a heating pad like I wanted! How do people have babies without sisters?!) I could write another entire blog about my sister and how I survived because of her :) | At this point, I wasn't worried about the labor pain or the medications or any of the horror stories you hear about... I was worried that it was too bright in my room and that Hudson would not be very happy when he came out of a dark & warm place into a bright & cold place! I was glad to hear that they would dim the light for him! We did a bunch of fun "pushing-techniques" that I won't go into detail about :) and the nurse kept saying things like "oh! oh! that's good! I can almost see him!" but... one time when the nurse said that, and I looked at my sister.. and her eyes got big and I could see her start crying and she was trying to say that she could see him, or that it was time, but she couldn't make any words out... I knew THEN that it was time... and one push later, a tiny baby boy was quite literally THROWN into my arms. That was it. He was here. The moment we had been waiting for. Tyler was a dad. I was a mom. I was completely speechless. I think I may have made some cooing/crying/ahhh sounds like a baby does! All I could think about was this new little baby, that just seconds ago was kicking my on the inside, who was out here, in the real world, in my arms. Forever... Our little 6 pound, 9.8 ounce sweetheart. September 17th at 9:21 in the morning. | Shortly after, they said they were going to do the epidural... that didn't hurt at all... When Dr. Reddy got there she said she was going to check me, and nothing was hurting very much so I figured we would be waiting a while. She said to the nurse, really nonchalantly, "I don't feel any cervix; it's time to start pushing." ...... WHAT?! I mean, I was ready, but I wasn't READY! From this point on, it was so fast that I didn't even have time to get all emotional. My sister was fixing to cry (or WAS crying); everyone else was running around kind of crazy, like I was in labor or something, and me and Tyler were thinking, "is this real?"

18: Hudson's Sailboat Nursery | We completely created a room for you in our house at 319 Chisholm Trail. Your very first room! We ripped up the carpet; laid wood floors; installed new baseboards, quarter round, and chair rail; painted the walls two shades of green; installed a new ceiling fan; built a crib; and furnished the room. It's the most perfect nursery for our perfect little boy!

19: The theme in your room is "sailboats" and we hung an anchor on your wall that we bought in Dubrovnik, Croatia! Nana & Papa bought you a crib and a boat dresser. We also used your great-great grandma Elaine's vanity in your room!

21: At 1 month old you went to the State Fair! You loved strolling around and looking at all the colors - when you were awake! You slept almost the whole entire time. At this age you are still sleeping most of the day and night, waking up every 2 hours or so for just around 20 minutes. At 5 weeks old you spent you first 1/2 day with Nana Marty while mommy went to work! We got to see your first real smile this month when you smiled at Daddy. You also took your first vacation. We went to San Antonio for Mommy & Daddy's Anniversary. We drove there and you slept almost the whole way. You did so great on your first vacation!

29: At 2 months old you had to get your first vaccinations. Poor baby! Mommy hated it more than you did. You started smiling a lot and making happy noises around 8 weeks old. You got your first cold, too, and we had to make a special visit to the doctor's office! You didn't have to have medications, just Vics, humidifier, and saline! You got better quickly and it didn't bother you too much. This month you went to church for the first time because you were finally able to get the flu shot and your TDaP vaccination so you were able to be around large groups of people. Taking baths is your favorite thing to do right now. You love to lay in your little baby-tub in the water and splash your feet around. You usually cry and scream when we take you out of the bath... you are just like daddy because you love to take a long bath!

37: At 3 months old you started eating cereal for 3 meals per day. You did so great with the spoon and swallowing your cereal! Now your belly is more full all day long! This month you started sleeping in your crib all night and you did great. You woke only once at 4am for the first few weeks! You took your first airplane trip to Key West, Florida. You saw your first beach and got to put your tiny feet in the sand and the ocean. You love the warm weather and being outside all day!

38: Key West, Florida | You spent a week in Key West, Florida for your 1st Beach Vacation! You put your toes in the sand and the ocean, went to Margaritaville, visited Fort Zachary Taylor, went to the Southernmost Point, laid on South Beach, saw a sunset at Mallory Square, and ate lots of Conch Fritters!

45: At 4 months old you got your 1st tooth! You mastered rolling over BOTH WAYS, started eating cereal and then vegetables, and started trying to drink from a sippy-cup! You had a lot of firsts as a 4 month old. You love sweet potatoes, peas, and cereal, but you hate avocados! We put our house on the market at 319 Chisholm Trail in Krum, Texas. This was the house we brought you home from the hospital to! We moved in with Nana & Papa and started building our house at 2650 Ripy Road in Krum, Texas.

49: At 5 months old you started sleeping through the night! You slept ALL NIGHT LONG for TWELVE HOURS for 3 nights in a row... mommy & daddy were so happy! You started playing outside this month because the weather was warm ... you love being outside! You have gotten a lot of ear infections this season and so we have seen Doctor Jones pretty often, but you really love her! You took a ski trip while you were 5 months old and got to swim for the very first time; you absolutely loved the swimming pool! You have a fun time laughing at Brooke & Blake, too!

53: At 6 months old you are weighing 20 pounds and are 28.5" long! You are a very tall boy! You say "bababa" non-stop! You love to say dada and mama, but your new word is "baba". You mostly say "mama" when you're crying or want to be picked up. You are learning to eat Puffs better and you will sit in your high chair and eat puffs for 30 minutes at a time! You started pulling up on things a little bit and you are doing very good at it, but you don't stand for very long! You're sleeping 11 hours at night (6pm - 5am), waking up just 1-2 times/night, and taking three naps a day, with about 2 hours of wake-time in between.

54: BRECKENRIDGE Your 1st Ski Trip was to Breckenridge, Colorado with Nana & Papa, GG & Pop, Nana Rhonda, Mommy & Daddy, Aunt Tiff & Uncle Josh, The B's, and Uncle J. It was your 1st time to get in a swimming pool, and you loved it! You spent most of your time in the condo playing with Nana Rhonda or the B's... next year you will be able to play in the snow more!

57: You started oatmeal at 4 months old, and did amazingly well with the spoon! After a few days we moved on to sweet peas - you love them! By 6 months you had tried (and loved) green beans, sweet potatoes, zucchini, pears, apples, strawberries, bananas, and peaches. You didn't like avocados or carrots very much!

59: At 7 months old you started making silly growling noises, saying "dada" in a monster voice! You pull up on everything and stand there for a while. You love to pull up on Nana's fire place! PUFFS are your favorite food to eat right now... you get so excited when you see the bottle of puffs! Your "wake time" is increasing from 2 hours to 2.5 hours and you're taking longer naps, now.

60: A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.

62: For your 1st Easter, we went to First Baptist Church of Ponder and then headed to Noonie's for lunch with Nan & Pop, Noonie & Ken, Jodie, Nana & Papa, Nana Rhonda, Tiff, Josh, Jordan & The B's! We stopped by Papa Rob's on the way home for a little play time, too!

67: During your 8th month you took your first trip out of the country, to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. You started doing a high-pitched scream and you love to repeat "mamama" or "dadadada" - those are you two favorite words! You're pulling up on EVERYTHING and you crawl around really fast. You started walking with your walker toy - first you did it on on your knees but by early June you were able to easily do it on your feet! You also went to your very first Rangers Game while you were 8 months old.

68: May 18 - May 25 Cabo San Lucas, Mexico You were a perfect baby on the airplane to Mexico! You loved the beach, the ocean, and the swimming pools - but your favorite was the balcony and the hammock! You also love listening to the Mexicans talk so fast, and they love talking to you!

72: Our 1st Mother's Day | Mother's Day was on May 11th. We went to church and dedicated you to the Lord and promised to bring you up in a Godly home! Pastor Kim Broadstreet gave you your 1st Bible. Nana & Papa, Nana Rhonda, Aunt Tiffany, Uncle J, Nana Betty, Pop, Nana Leta, and Aunt Kelli all came to witness it!

77: During your 9th month you started sleeping all night long, every single night. For the last few months you would sleep all night sometimes, and other than that you mostly woke up just once for a bottle (sometimes twice!). But once you got into your 9th month you became a perfect sleeper! You love to play with your toys in Nana's living room; you still love being outside but you get bad allergies so we give you Zyrtec everyday! You've been going to church for the past few months and haven't had any problems yet. This month, though, you did start crying when someone you like leaves the room (like Daddy or Mommy!)... especially when Daddy comes home for lunch and then goes back to work! You also went to your first Rangers game during your 9th month. Your biggest accomplishment this month was learning to crawl on your knees with your walker toy, and then learning to WALK with your walker toy! You are growing big and tall and fast, right before our eyes!

79: We went to the Ranger's Game for Dad's 28th Birthday on June 8th! | It was your 1st Ranger's Game!

83: At 10 months old you have just learned to wave and say "hi" to people! You say "hi" whether you mean "hi" or "bye". You're walking all over the place, but only 4-8 steps at a time. You sleep totally through the night from 7:30pm - 6:30am and you usually take 2 long naps during the day. We've started using sippy cups all the time so that you can get used to them. You like the ones with the straws best! You're also eating finger foods that you can pick up and feed yourself. Your favorite is deli turkey, toast with cheese, pears, apples, and sliced cheese. Our house is almost finished being built and you love to go look at it. Your favorite part is riding on the golf cart or in the car and getting out to open the big gate. You always laugh and go crazy, kicking your legs! You really want to crawl around in the new house, but it's too messy! You're the best, smiling boy in the world!

85: You're going to be a big brother in February 2015! Maybe it will be a little girl, but we know you would love to have a little brother, too! We will find out in August if it's a boy or a girl. You don't really know what's going on, but I know you're excited because we're excited!

86: St. Louis | We went to St. Louis, Missouri on the 4th of July this year to America's Biggest Birthday Party in Forest Park. We watched a 4th of July parade, toured the city, visited the Arch and Union Station, and walked around the ballpark. You stood up on this trip for a long time all by yourself (for the 1st time!), right under the St. Louis Arch!

91: Your 11th month was filled with lots of walking, talking, and silly games. My favorite accomplishment of yours this month was that you learned to clap. When Governor Perry was giving a speech on the television you started clapping for him - so sweet! This month you mostly took 2 short naps, about an hour each, and slept about 11 hours at night. When you got sick with croup it lasted about a week and we had a hard time getting you to sleep for naps! Also, mommy can't lay you down in the crib very easily anymore because it squishes Baby Everleigh; good thing Daddy is a pro at nap-time and bed-time! Something funny you did this month was play peek-a-boo by yourself with your little mirror, you laughed & laughed! Your laugh is changing, too - it sounds more grown-up! As far as meals, you are a very healthy eater. You love fruits and vegetables, but only if you can feed yourself - which you are very good at!

93: We moved into our new home at 2650 Ripy Road, Krum, TX on August 26, 2014. Hudson's room was the first to be completed!

101: You are the most perfect little boy we could've ever asked for. At 6:30pm we start our night-time routine with a fun bath with toys and playing. After bath, we all 3 go to your room for story-time, prayers, and little play-time in the crib before turning out the lights for sleep time. You wakes up around 7am every morning and are just as happy as can be. We make a milk sippy and you drink it on the couch with Daddy or in the bed with Mommy & Daddy. During the day you either stays with your Nanny Krista, Mommy, Aunt Tiffany, Nana Marty, or Nana Rhonda during the summers. You takes 2 naps/day for about an hour each, and wake up ready to play! You loves meal-time and are very good at feeding yourself (usually chicken, cheese, green beans, and fruit)! Your favorite place to play is outside but you also likes playing around the living room with your toys, riding on your airplane and growling! You copy a lot of sounds we make to you now. Your biggest accomplishment this month is probably learning "What Does A Cow Say?". Oh, and you started walking with shoes this month. You are VERY good at walking in shoes!

104: Your 1st Birthday Party was a BIG BBQ BASH at our New House! Papa cooked smoked brisket and sausage. Everyone brought you ZILLIONS of toys...
