Telling Tales | There is one particular story about me as a toddler that I hear by my grandparents and parents over and over again. When I was little, they said I was mean to my younger brother, Brandon. Once, when I was four years old and he was two, my parents told me that they went into Brandon's crib and found teeth marks on his cheek. They knew it was me obviously but when they came and asked me what happened I denied it and cried constantly. They were mad about it, but eventually thought it was funny that I cried over it and never admitted to doing it. I still get picked on every time my whole family is together. | 6.

As Time Goes Bye-Bye | Here are lists of things that I've said bye to, and also some of the top things that I want to do in my lifetime. | 9.
Things I've said good-bye to... | - My memories In Charleston, South Carolina. I moved here when I was 8 and haven't gone back many times since. - Dreams of growing up at the beach. I always wanted to live and grow up there when I was younger. - The jealousy I had for everyone else. I thought everyone was better then me and had a perfect life, I felt like I wasn't good enough. -The amazing people I have meet through experiences such as Church Camp, Mission Trips, Youth events, vacations, and school events. | Thing's I want to do before i die... | - The number one thing I want to do before I die is just have a family of my own and be able to support them. I look up to my parents and I want to be like them and I think it would be amazing to have a great husband and kids of my own. - For fun, a thing I would like to do would be to go parasailing. A lot of people I know have done it and they said it was a great experience and a blast to do! - Scuba Dive coral reefs. I am very interested in oceans and ocean life, and I want to have an up close and personal experience in the depths of the ocean, and this is the one thing I want to do most before I'm thirty-five. - Fly in a plane. My mom is afraid of heights and even the thought of a plane, so I haven't been able to experience the thrill of flight, and I can't wait to do this. | 10.

PICTURE THIS | This is a picture of what I think shows an example of what it means to be a team. This is my soccer team from last year, and after the season was over I loved every one of these girls. Even though I was a freshman and the upperclassman were better than me at soccer, they helped me when I had questions or when I struggled. They made me feel like family and I couldn't have asked for more. Practice and games were a blast, and I can't wait for the upcoming season with my wonderful team! | 13.

 REMEMBERING THE CHILD | 15.
When I was little, I was a very outgoing girl. Others saw me as hyper, fun-loving, and an animal lover. My grandma told me that one thing she loved about me was how I had such a special bond with her dog, Spanky. She said from the time I was born until Spanky's death when I was about 12, we were inseparable. Every time I went to my grandparent's house, Spanky was always by my side and stuck to me like glue. They had had him since my mom was a teenager, and she said that Spanky never loved anyone as much as he loved me. This is what my grandma said stood out most about me being a little girl. I | 16.
FAMILY One moment that stands out in my mind when I had a great experience with a family member is when I went rock climbing with my dad for the first time. I was about 11 years old, and I had just gone hiking with him before this time, not actually rock climbing. We climbed at Crowder"s Mountain on a 125 foot rock wall. It was an amazing experience being so high up with just the mountains and sky around me. The relationship with my dad has changed over time because when I was younger I didn't understand some of the decisions he made, but being more mature and growing up has made me understand the way he thinks to make the decisions he does. I hope in the future that my dad and I can become closer, and instead of just being my dad I would like to call him a friend and be able to talk to him about everything without the feeling of him disapproving of me. | 17.
 INFLUENCE | 18.
My Memorable Event | Commissioners School of Excellence | 19.
Commissioners School of Excellence (CSE) is a two week summer leadership program in the summer that uprising sophomores that are in the top 10 percent of the class get to attend. A few selected students from each school in Gaston County get selected by grades, an essay, and accomplishments throughout school. This past summer, I got to attend and I'm so happy that I did because I will never forget this experience. CSE was about getting to know different people and finding the leadership skills within yourself. During this program, no cells phones or iPods were allowed, so you had to spend your time getting to know the other 70 students that were there. I made many friends and have kept in touch with many of them since, and that is what was so memorable about this experience. I would definitely do this again if I had a chance, and I would recommend every 9th grader to consider applying for this. | 20.
My Brag | I'm such an extraordinary soccer player I can kick, shoot, run, pass, dribble, and juggle better than Mr.Clark himself. I'm so good that I was too good to play for team USA in the FIFIA World Cup, because they didn't want me to show up everybody. | I'm also so smart that nobody can compare to me intellectually. People wish they had my brain because I can calculate, come up with, figure out, experiment, create, and write better then anyone ever thought they could. I am the female version of Albert Einstein at Cherryville High School. | 21.
Driver's License | Learner's Permit | For me, I have my Learner's Permit. To get my permit, I took Driver's Ed for 2 weeks at the end of the school year last year, and I also studied a week in advance for the written test to be prepared for it, and I actually made a perfect score of 100 on the test. My examiner was very friendly and encouraging about me passing! I had to drive for 6 hours with my teacher, and also I drove with my dad some for additional practice. I feel as though I am a really safe driver just because I don't get distracted very easily, and I can't multi task so I couldn't be able to text and drive even if I wanted to! I feel very grateful to have my permit to practice before I get my actual license and I intend to drive a lot in the next year to be ready when It comes time to receive my Driver's License. | 22.
Camp Caswell. This is a Baptist church camp that I go to every summer with my youth group, and when I went in 2007 I got saved and that was the most amazing experience I've ever had because I was with Jesus Christ for a whole week straight. | Commissioners School of Excellence. This past summer I got accepted to go to a 2 week summer leadership camp with 70 other kids my age from Gaston County. This opened my eyes to my future and I also met and became friends with many others and this was something I will remember forever. | Blume for Girls. Every four years the Acteens of churches all across America go to a convention for a week. I went when I was 13 and this was one great experience. It was held in Kansas City and about 3000 girls attended. It really taught me a lot of myself and inner beauty and I learned how to appreciate myself and what God has given me. | Mission Trip to Corbin Kentucky. I went on this trip about three years ago with my youth group and people from our church. This experience humbled me because it made me thankful for the things I have in my life and made me more grateful to help people in need. | 1 | 2 | 3 | Climbing with my dad. This moment I will never forget. It was first time climbing and it made me appreciate nature and our surroundings. Being on the side of a rock wall seeing nothing but the sky and clouds hovering around you and the mountains below you had a big impact on me. It made me feel like I was nothing compared to the greatness of the things around me that God created. I think everyone should go rock climbing at least one time, even if you are afraid of heights, to get this experience. | 4 | 5 | 23

 EXTRAORINARY PET | 25.
One pet that stands out in mind when I think of amazing pets is one of my cats named Perry. He wandered up at our house one day as a little kitten and I became fond of him every since. His coloring is orange and white and he is very small for a full grown cat. What makes Perry special is he will let you do anything you want to him. You can hang him upside down, hold him from his tail, pick him up and toss him, and all he will do when you put him down is sit at your feet wanting more attention. He's my favorite because I think he's fond of me too. When we let him inside he runs straight to my room and lays on my bed and just sits there with me. One funny thing he does is every morning when my mom gets home from work he goes and lays right behind my mom's car, up against the tire, appearing to be dead. I would never want a pet to do anything differently then Perry, and that's why he's my extraordinary pet. | 26.
Who Am I? | Hunter Carefree, Positive, fun-loving, Intelligent Sibling of Brandon Helms Lover of Jesus, family, and laughter Who feels anxious, curious, thankful Who needs love, happiness, peace, and friends Who gives advice, friendship, and comfort Who fears the unknown, death, and loss Who would like to see a bright future with a great family Resident of Cherryville Helms | 27.
 A Special Place | 29.
My Special Place would be in Oak Island, North Carolina at a Baptist church camp known as Camp Caswell. My youth group goes for a week in the summer every year and I've been going since the summer after my 5th grade year and it has been my favorite place to go. When we go, there about about 800 teenagers there just like you. This place is an amazing experience to me because I get to spend a week of my summer not having to worry about any of the stresses at home, I just have a week of myself and Jesus. The preachers really get on the students level and that's what make the church experience so uplifting. We go to church for about 6 hours each day and some people might think thats way too much, but this church is different. There is wonderful music, actors, games that we can play on stage, and great teachers that are teenagers as well. This place means the world to me because If I'm ever doubting myself or have any regrets, the second I get there all of that disappears and God helps me through all my situations, and for these reasons is why Camp Caswell is my Special Place. | 30.
Who has Influenced me? | MY MOM | 31.
My mom is the person that has influenced me the most in my opinion. She is my best friend and we do everything together. She has taught me lessons that I need to know to get through my high school years and without her I don't know what I would do. My mom gives me advice on everything I need and is always there when I need her. She is a very strong person in my opinion for many reasons. One reason is because about 5 years ago she wanted to go back to school and become a nurse. She had to spend all of her time in classes and studying instead of spending time with the family and I think that took a lot of her to do that. She is now a nurse working in the NICU at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, and I couldn't be more proud of her for doing what she loves. She makes me want to strive to do my best and this is why she has a big influence in my life. | 32.
If I was leaving home forever and could only take one suitcase, I would pack... | Cell Phone Clothes for the hot and cold weather My iPod My favorite food Lots of Money A Camera A LapTop with an Air Card so I could get Internet connection everywhere A Universal Charger to charge my Cell Phone, Camera, IPod, and Computer all at once I'd have a big enough suitcase to pack my mom in, because I need her for advice | 32.
 My Best Friend | 35.
I have one very special person that I would consider my best friend and her name is Karley. We have been the closet friends since about 4th grade and nothing has ever torn us apart. This girl knows everything about me including all my flaws and mistakes and still claims me as a best friend. We do everything together and she is like my sister. People have even asked if we are sisters, even though I think we look nothing alike. We both have the same opinion, and when we play soccer together we play exactly alike. Some of my best memories have been with her and she is the reason for these amazing memories. She is one of a kind and I am grateful for her. She helps me when I'm in need, makes me laugh, gives me advice, and comforts me when I'm down. She is the definition of a true best friend and that's why I'm thankful that I have her. | 36.
