S: Jordan Whitlock First 21 Years
FC: 21 years of Jordan
Hey Jord, It's hard to believe you're 21 already. It seems like yesterday that we were little kids running around the woods in New Mexico without a care in the world besides collecting quarts and horny toads. I still remember you as a kid quite a bit. It's not that I think of you as a kid now, because you're definitely matured into a man. but I guess I'll always picture you as my little brother. God's blessed me beyond belief with you, and I'll do my best to tell you why.
I can't remember a time in our lives when we haven't had a lot of fun together (occasional arguments, but even those weren't bad at all). I remember mom taking us on wagon rides when you were a baby, and I'd sit behind you and hold you up. I was so happy to have a little brother, someone to look out for and go on adventures with. I remember when you got old enough to walk and talk; I was a happy camper then because you could start doing everything with me. We collected a lot of stuff. Turtles, horny toads, toads, worms, rocks, crystals, flint, dirt, and hotel soap. We went on so many trips with mom and dad, all of them fun, and we were very protective of who looked out of our windows. Living in Ruidoso was such a cool time for us, and having you with me was
the best part by far. Whatever we did, the best thing was having you there. We may have had "best friends" over the years, but really you were my best friend. We cut down trees, played our Tonka trucks (and the R/C ones that broke after 2 hours), went arrowhead hunting, wore dad's road crew, played with Lincoln and Cody in the woods, and went to the lake. Then we moved to Colorado and even more fun. We camped, hiked, made hundreds of Medieval weapons, made tree-houses, hunted, fished, and so much more. We were never spoiled kids, but I always felt like we had more than anyone else, because we had so much joy. I remember going to so many different churches of the years and how we've always kept learning about God in cool ways.
I remember going through CMCA with you too. It was great knowing you were at the same school with me and being able to ride with you (and eventually drive you) to school. I loved all of the backpacking trips we had as a family. We spent so much time up in the mountains getting lost in the woods and having the time of our lives just being able to see such amazing beauty and being together for it all. I loved coming back home from USAFA and being able to hang out with you wherever you were. Chucky, Sportsman's, home, or wherever. I loved all of the other trips we took like the Keys, the other FL trip, especially Hawaii, the Tetons and Yellowstone, and more. I could go on for days, but one thing is pretty clear: we have a whole lot of fun together and have been blessed so much in our lives.
We didn't just have fun together though, that was just part of it. We were best friends all of our lives. I know I could always trust you, rely on you, be loved by you, and have fun with you. It's still true today. I can come home after 6 months away and it's like I haven't missed a day. I've been so proud over the past few years to see you mature into a man. From the way you work your jobs, to how you love Haleigh, you've matured so much and you have taught me a lot. Just seeing how you care for and love Haleigh showed me a great example of how that looked before I started dating Naomi. It was so encouraging to see you be mature and responsible in how you treated her, especially in loving her fully and unconditionally.
You love her and cherish her very much like God does. Your understanding of love and relationships and life wisdom is way beyond what anyone else your age has. It makes perfect sense because you do so well in your work. You're only 21, but you're being considered for positions that even twice your age often hold. You legitimately care about helping all your customers and really know your stuff when it comes to anything in your department. And you're really good with people. That's a huge gift you been given. I couldn't be more proud of you. It doesn't matter what you do because how handle what in front of you is so good. The job you have or anything else like that doesn't matter a whole lot; it's how you do what you are doing.
I can't wait to see how your life continues to unfold because I know you'll work hard, work for the right reasons, and love everyone around you. I couldn't ask for a better brother. I wouldn't trade anything we've had for the world, and I always want you to know how proud and grateful for you I am. Happy 21st birthday, Jord. I love you! -Caleb
 Mom's Pride And Joy
Jordan, Happy 21st Birthday honey! I can't believe how fast time has passed. Sometimes I wish you were still small so I could still scoop you up in my arms again. You were the sweetest little boy and I do miss those day so much. I feel so grateful to be your mom. You have always been such a good son and you have always been so respectful to Dad and I and we feel honored by you in the way you lead your life. We have some great memories to look back on. Our many camping trips come to mind and also hunting, football games, the lake and our vacations to Hawaii, Florida and all the Christmas times. The greatest part of those memories is all being together. Jordan I am filled with pride in you as I have watched you become so great at your job and take on the responsibility. I am also impressed with your relationship to Haleigh. You treat her like Dad treats me. Thanks for always remembering me on special occasions. No one can make me laugh like you can. I love being around you because you are always such fun. I'm looking forward to see what God has in store for you and I know it will be great honey. I love you with all my heart and thanks for making me such a proud mom. - Mom
 Like Father Like Son
Jordan, I couldn't be more impressed with the man you have become or more moved when remembering the journey of your growing up years. Walking through the woods when you were small, seeing through your little eyes the mysteries of the natural world, will be a part of me forever. We have faced the wind and the rain and storms together and shared joy in horned toads, bucks and delicious bass. There were some tough times too. Watching you have to adjust your dreams of playing football and missing gout on a military opportunity was hard to do. I know it is a struggle at times, but you persisted and help on to hope and haven't lost sight of your great potential and gifts. Keep it up! You have so much more strength of character than you now realize. I am so excited you have found Haleigh too! She so belongs at your side and will be a great partner and best friend in life. I look forward to watching you grow as a couple and bring your future children to visit us. I am also sure I will continue to see the hand of destiny in your life even when it seems events have little meaning. You are called for a purpose, and be it grand or humble, it will be truly important, and I know you will walk in it with integrity. I love you more than ever, Dad
