the freshman class | Juice, What can I say? Even if you weren't talking a lot in the looker room, on and off the ice you were always leading by example. I never met a person that works that hard in my life. You always wanted to get better, and you always put the team first. This is a quote that will always reminds me of you; “I know you've heard it a thousand times before. But it's true - hard work pays off. If you want to be good, you have to practice, practice, practice. If you don't love something, then don't do it.” You showed me every single day at the rink that this quote was true. You were always staying on the ice after practice or coming on early just to practice, and to get better. We will miss you for sure next year. Maybe we will spend 2 more years with you, volunteer coach? Good luck in the future, and I will be there for sure at the weeding if I get an invitation! Keep in touch. | Juice! Juana piece of me? Lesbihonest, I’m stronger so you would lose, so I understand why you have yet to challenge me . Any who oh Juana you have no idea how glad I was one they one they call “Mully” quit because it led to you being my left side lady. Sitting next to you in the locker room this year honestly made my time in there (good or bad) that much better having you by my side. And if Mully would have stayed around I know you would have protected me! We had some pretty good times this year, one of them being the release of the move called bridesmaids. We both love that movie so much and I hope every time you watch it you think of me, I know I will be thinking of you . I want to say thank | you for being such a good role model this year, I strive be as strong as you some day! With your help you made this year and team truly special and I’m so sorry I couldn’t have done more to help make it end on a better note because you deserved it. On a side note I’m not going to lie by the end of the season my door opening skills were in my opinion close to perfection! Next year will not be the same without you and I hope we can stay in touch; I will miss you so much!! Good luck next year and in the future, you can do anything super women! Love you!
Juice!! I am going to miss you so much ! What will I do with out the person who can always make you laugh and bring comfort without even having to use words? You can brighten a person’s day by just flexing your muscles; I mean come on what’s better than that? I remember at the start of the season I was so intimidated by you, first time having to go up against you one on one I was for sure I would end up on my butt. Guess what, I was right! That’s okay though, you’ve taught me many lessons this year that I don’t even think you realize. I just wanted to say thank you SO much for your support through out the year! Especially in the games against Colgate and Cornell, you told me that you guys had it and you were completely right. Please lets stay in touch, and if I see you in the ERC I may yell your name across the room. | (I don’t do that very often, actually ever. I even scared Logan the one day when I yelled your name cause I was louder than usual) I just want to leave you with one last thing, a quote for you that makes me believe it stands true to you. If you ever feel down please remember this is how after only one year of knowing you, I know you never give up, keep going and nothing will stop you from your dreams. “I was never afraid of failure, for I would sooner fail than not be among the best.” John Keats Going to miss you so much! All the best in your future endeavors, Love ! Ps. Since your having a baby and all, there better be a wedding ;) Jennifer Shields | Dear Juice, Juana piece of me? First off I’d just like to say how great it was to get to know you. Also thank you for making my first year at Clarkson as great as it was, you really contributed to making my transition to Clarkson that much easier. I also want to thank you for showing me what it really means to be dedicated and a true team player. You never took a day, even if it wasn’t your day you still gave a one-hindered and ten percent effort. You worked your ass of all year and it really was inspirational to whiteness, you pushed me everyday to perform my best. | I’m not going to lie I did shut my eyes almost every time you would take a clapper from the slot, but that can stay just between you and I. I will also miss all the bruises you gave me and getting all kinds of dents and chips in my mask. But to be honest, they will always be little reminders of you. All five of you showed up everyday ready to kick our asses in whatever it was. You never took a day off and therefore that makes you the definition of Clarkson Hockey. You would never give up on a puck and if it was loose you would be the first one there. Each one of you brought something unique and special to this team that I will never forget. You made practices fun and challenging from a goalie stand point so thank you! There are so many memories I have that I will never forget. I cannot thank you enough for making this year so special and it was an amazing experience to be able to experience your last year together. You will be greatly missed and I wish you the best of luck in the future, I know you will be very successful. Love, Horn.
Dearest Juice, First of all, thank you for setting such a good example for our freshmen class. You guys were so welcoming to us, and I think by doing that it made our transition into college much easier. Watching you in games, practice and workout was just mind-blowing because you give 110 percent every day. I’d be lucky to achieve even a quarter of what you possess as a player. Also, I would like to make a comment on how tremendous your dance moves are luckily I have had a chance of experiencing them first hand from Gabby and yourself. Back to hockey though, it was truly a privilege getting to see your 100th point, and overall getting to be a part of your senior year you all-star. Well, good luck in the future and I can't wait to see you beat the world at everything you put your mind too. –Love Ella | Juice, I am so glad that we got to spend the year together. Your have been such an influence on all of us. Your work ethic and constant smile had a major impact on everyone. Your one of the nicest people I know and am so happy that we were on the same team because I never would want to play against you. I know that you will go far in life because you’re so responsible and kind hearted. I just remember that time at the cottage when lambert and I were behind the cottage and you and flo burst around the corner and flo tackled me and you had the camera and I was so surprised, it was so funny. I was so happy when you got a 100 points, it was such a great moment, I was so happy for you! Then that night was crazy and you and emlaw were so funny! You were always so kind to me, even when you first met me and I always looked up to you. Overall it was just such a great year with you, and I am so sorry the season had to end like it did for you and the other seniors sake, you guys deserved so much more than that! But I know you will do great things in the future! I wish you all the best! I will miss you tons! Love, Taylor
The sophomore class | Juice, First off I’m going to say your guns will truly be missed next year as no one will be able to take the position of those fully loaded puppies. You have made such a huge impact on all us under classmen that we can’t thank you enough. Seeing how hard you worked on and off the ice was truly admiring and made me more determined to bring a work ethic such as yours. I’m going to miss having you as my warm up buddy and most of all your hugs. Good luck next year and don’t be a stranger | Juicy fruit! Heyyy stallmate, thanks for all the great memories, thanks for sharing all your daily adventures with me and thank you for just being you!! Being close to ya everyday really helped me mature and become the player I am now, with the way you carry yourself as a player and a person really helped me become more mature so I thank you for that. I am gunna miss that French accent beside me everyday and im gunna miss those big strong hugs! Good luck with everything! And p.s I dibs being flower girl in the wedding haha Love ratty
It was a great two years that I got to spend with you and I only wish I could have had more time with you. You are the type of teammate that every team needs and that every player and coach truly appreciates. Your work ethic and team play will be truly missed and those qualities have been proven extremely valuable through your enormous contributions to our team in your four years here. You are a true role model and the type of player and person that I aspire to be. Keep up your good work, you have a bright future ahead of you! I’ll miss you tons, keep in touch! | Ju-a-wanna be my friend forever? Haha. Thank you for always brightening my day and putting a smile on my face. It was a pleasure sharing the same stretching spot with you on the ice for 2 years. No matter how stressed I may be, you always seemed to make everything okay. I always loved feeling your big strong arms around me either on the ice or in the ERC/Student Center. Thanks for loving life and always being so positive and always giving your most bestest effort. The world needs more of you! Xo. Luck
Juana Baribeauuuu. Where to start? One thing is for sure; I will miss sharing snacks with you in Wasserman’s class! Every time I will see someone eating a strawberry poptart next year, I’ll be thinking of you! I will also miss watching you play with your baby blanket in the back of the bus, or while watching Greys and Private Practice in our hotel room. Oh those Thursday nights in the hotel room with you will be missed for sure! My cup of tea before bed will never be the same without the honey addition! Oh and who will be helping me with my tax return next year? You might have to come back in March for that! I’ll make sure you write it down in your business agenda next year! Its smells lika piscine?? Non sérieusement Juice ta présence va me manquer. Ton intégrité va me manquer..... et tes pipes ! Bonne chance in the real world et je souhaite a toi et Emlaw que du bonheur. Comme j'ai déja dit quand j'étais a little drunk : vous etes les plus cute au monde et j'ai hate d'etre au mariage xxxx Love you, Flo=Rida.
Mercer | Juana, I cant say enough about playing with you all year. Through all of the line changes we seemed to always end up back together- it was meant to be! I don’t think there is anyone I would rather spend my next 2 years playing with. Thank-you for always bringing your best effort on and off the ice, the team always knew we could count on you! Good luck with everything you do in the future, I cannot wait for the wedding invitation to arrive in the mail!! I’ll miss you! Love Merc | Ju-ana-piece of me, I think I am speaking for all the goalies when I say you will be greatly missed next year however you slap shot will not be missed. You always inspired me with your hard work and versatility. Whether you are playing forward or defense, power play or penalty kill or even goalie in the spring you always give it your all. Good luck in the future, I know you will go very far. Don’t be a stranger.
The junior class | Bonjour! I'd like to write this whole thing in french but that's about all I've got. I will miss watching you blow past all five players on the other team and scoring like it's no big deal. Your talent is amazing and you've been such a big part the success this team has had- no doubt we will miss you next year. The amount that you care about the team and your teammates is obvious to everyone, and is a reflection of the great person that you are. I am so happy to have been able to play with you for three years, and I won't forget the memories we've had on and off the ice. I know you'll have lots of success after Clarkson and I hope you don't forget about us! Bonne chance mon ami! ...Is that right? | Oh Juana, I am going to miss you so much! I'm glad we became such good friends these past few years because I will always be thankful for meeting you! You're a great person and I have learned a lot from you since being here. I will really miss you around the rink next year, it just will not be the same. I will also miss you during finals week when I want to go to cantinas after a exam and you will not be here! What a good time that was haha. I wish you all the best in the future I know you will do great things! Enjoy the relaxation once you get home and are done with school.. for now haha. I love you.
the senior class | Mama P wrote the message as if she was speaking to some sort of imaginary friend. Sorry for this classic mix up. Is it weird I look at her trap muscles everyday? I’m just jealous, she knows that. I will always appreciate her unbelievable massages and I doubt that someone can give a better hug! Juice has never hid who she is and I’m extremely happy for that. I think she's shown a lot of people that it is important to take pride in just being who you are. She has matured into a confident woman that exemplifies hard work and determination to the fullest. | Juice hardly spoke a word of English when she left home and I can only imagine how difficult that must have been. I get nervous in Montreal where most people speak English! Trying to balance hockey and attempting to learn a completely different language is something I’m sure no one would be able to accomplish easily; I commend you for that. To me, it seemed as if Juice just adopted this new life over night. The hours we spent at the rink, on the bus, at school, I’m not sure how she did it, but she did! I don't think Juice has a mean bone in her body but who could tell with all those muscles! On the ice, she's led the Clarkson Golden Knights with her goal scoring ability, defense, and selfless play. Off the ice, her determination to be her very best and give back to others is something we've all tried to replicate. She leads by example with her actions and her refusal to give in to the social norms that most live by each and every day. She's a genuine lady with the biggest heart in the world and I consider myself lucky enough to call her a friend. That's something special. I love you Juana Baribeau!
First thing that comes to mind when one thinks of Juana is her incredible skill in the game that we have all made a life and love. She has had some of the most highlight real goals and plays, and I will always remember them. I know when she got her 50th goal and 100th point in the same weekend; it was not only amazing for her but our entire class was ecstatic for her success. I may have re injured my knee in the stands when jumping so high! Everyone knows the hockey girl, But some may not know is the part that I have just recently learned about Juice. She has the warmest heart, caring, and kind personality I have ever had the chance of meeting. Her lack of English and scary muscle presence along with my non- smiling and long ginger locks may have stalled the building of our relationship but it did not stop it. It began with rooming together on roadies freshman year, and maybe saying two words to where we are now when we can confide in one another and discuss secrets and aspirations of the past, present and future.. I am truly grateful that in our senior year Juice and I have become friends and not just teammates. I may have a hard outer shell, but Juice you have defiantly found the cracks and have made a lasting impression on my life. I am upset that is took this long to become friends, but happy that it did. Juice you have overcome some amazing challenges in your life, and still manage to be a great friend.
Juana. I am so happy I got to spend the last 4 years with you and that I had the chance to become such good friends with you. I had the chance to watch you grow over the years and to see how far you've come is amazing. I mean shit, you came here barely speaking a word of english and now you have mastered the art of sarcasm. You grew into such a mature and respectful individual that I am amazed that you did in large part on your own here at school. For that I am very proud of you and everything you have done at Clarkson. You should be very proud as well that anything you accomplished in school and in hockey, was because of your own hard work and commitment. I think Gayle and Rock would also love for me to mention that for four years you were their adoptive daughter and I hope you always feel a part of the family we have made here at Clarkson. I love you Ju. And I will never care that when I yell your name people think I am making some sort of racial slur.
Oh Goodness, where to begin with you I don’t know if I can ever put into words how much I have learned from you. To start, I can’t believe how much you don’t see your own talent. You work your butt off every second you are awake and you still push yourself to do better every day. I know you think I’m talking about hockey, and for the most part I am, but that part of you has to do with everything else you have done here at Clarkson. You are unwilling to settle, and I think that this may be the most fundamental part of your personality. | You expect so much of yourself and your relentlessness is inspiring. So many people could have these same traits but be cold and difficult but you are the warmest person I know. The things you have said to me this year have given me so much strength and I can honestly say that without your encouragement I would not have had the same experience this year. It was hard to keep a smile on my face many days, but you were able to make me believe in myself. You showed me that all the expectations I have for myself aren’t so far out of my reach. You see everything in me that I aspiring to be, and it makes it all worth while. So I can’t thank you enough. I need you to understand your potential. You have the capacity to be the person everyone looks to answer their questions because you have conquered so much. You are 21 years old and you have accomplished so much more than anyone could have expected from you. You agreed to come to school and learn in a language that you didn’t know! Now you are one of the most gifted business students at this school. It is completely inspiring. That is why saying goodbye to you made my Dad emotional; and why he is willing to do what he can to help you. He sees so much potential in you and is so excited to see what you will do in your future. He is just another person whose life you have touched, along with the rest of us. I can hardly even get into hockey because that is not the most extraordinary thing about you, and let me tell you your hockey ability is extraordinary. I love you Juice, and I’m so happy you are in my life. Friendships like this last for a lifetime Juice. I cant wait for what the future holds for you. I’ll cuddle with you anytime.
the one and only... Emlaw! | “Juana Baribeau-Rondeau! Number 25! Nice to meet you!!” Ok, so I may have come off a little strong back in 2009, but hey, look where it got us! I cannot believe how far you've come. I mean, we don't even need to buy Heineken's ahead of time so that we can have an English conversation! But, I am not going to talk about how much your English has improved. I have never seen anyone so 110% into their sport, but hockey for you is not a sport, it's your life; it's who you are. You have never, not once, given up on your teammates. I have seen you come home on numerous occasions in tears, but you always work past it. You have built so much confidence in yourself and the way you play. You do whatever it takes to move past a barrier and I think that is one of your best qualities as a player. I know sometimes I get jealous and frustrated when hockey controls your life, and somehow mine too, but watching you play is the best part. I think I finally understand most of the rules now. If only someone would teach me how to stop on skates (cough, cough), I think I could get 100 points no problem. Even though this chapter has ended, there are only more to open. I promise to always make sure hockey is part of your life; wherever we may go or whatever we may do, hockey will be part of it, because hockey is part of why I love you so much. And I promise to always be your #1 fan. I think even T.C. believes that part! I love you, and I am SO proud of you. Congratulations babe!
From the kid that could barely speak a word of English to now, you have certainly come a long way. We are proud of everything you have accomplished. You have always put the team before yourself and have been a pleasure to coach . We will certainly miss your shot, strength, and on ice abilities but mostly we will miss having that kid around that wore her heart on her sleeve. You will do amazing things in your future. All the best Juice.
...Couldn't leave behindThe Wonderful Marge! | Happy Graduation Knights, Look how far you’ve come. Survived herbies, swims and marathons, Feats impossible for some. I can’t believe you’re all seniors now, The elderly on the team. Looking back on my years as a lady knight, It’s seems almost as if a dream. Although it’s been a few years now, And my memory’s less than par. You’ll always be a part of me, No matter near or far. Juice, Your six pack did intimidate, The rest of the rookie crew. You were always willing to lend a hand, So we’d have a chance to be unreal too. From freshmen year to senior year, Many friendships you all have made. Although it is sad you must be glad, For the memories that will never fade. It is now time for you all to move along, To say goodbye to New York State. You should be proud of all you’ve achieved, So now time to celebrate!! Congratulations ladies! Love and miss you all : )
and especially not.. Pete!!! | I can honestly say that you have made me excessively celebrate more than ten times in the past four years. It has been a pleasure spending time with you and you are truly an unbelievable hockey player to watch. I will never forget the goal in Minnesota and I don’t think I have ever celebrated that hard in my entire life. Thank you for being a great friend throughout this experience and good luck with whatever comes your way. I’m sure you will be able to impress them just as you impressed us here at Clarkson. I will greatly miss watching you make players look foolish and will miss seeing you around. Thank you and good luck!
Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there... to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but when you look eyes with them, you know that every moment that you are with them, they will affect your life in some profound way. And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power or heart. | Everything happens for a reason! Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere, safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from.... In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. MAKE EVERYDAY COUNT! Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people who you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, even if it doesn't seem right because you are too young or too far, just follow your heart. Surround yourself with those who make you smile, laugh, and make you happy. Break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own future and LIVE IT!
don't cry because it's over... | ...Smile because it happened!
