JANUARY 2010 | We rang in The New Year with the Swartz Family in Heber, AZ! Sitting by the fire, Skiing, playing Gituar Hero, and a special dance performance from Trevor and Emma are great memories from New Years 2010!
FEBRUARY 2010 | For Dave and Adriane's Anniversary we got to babysit Vaughn while they went to dinner. When we went to change him he had on a special onesie that said "Uncle Dusty & Aunt Jamie Will you be my God Parents?" I cried...we are so honored. We love Vaughn so much!!
MARCH 2010 | Kim came to visit and we went camping at Lake Pleasant! Little Vaughn's first camping trip! We all stayed in Dave & Adriane's pop-up camper it was so fun! Our crazy neighbors were quite entertaining, and the wild donkeys talked to us at night!
BEFORE | AFTER! | When we bought our house we were SO EXCITED to have our own pool! Unfortunately the plaster was in horrible shape. In April we had the pool replastered, and it turned out great! Little Emma was the first one to go for a swim when the pool was half way full!
In May we went to Rancho Santa Fe, California to celebrate our 1st Anniversary! We had an incredible trip. We went to a Padres game, had lunch in LaJolla, and visited the Birch Aquarium. The highlight of the trip was golfing the beautiful Bridges course with friends Sari and Brian!!.
I loved being pregnant! The first six months of 2010 were filled with anticipation of Molly's arrival! These are some of my favorite pregnancy pictures!
Molly was showered with so much love even before she was born! Adriane, Colleen, Erin, and Shawna helped plan the most beautiful Baby Showers!!
A truly amazing shower gift from Adriane!
As we anxiously awaited Molly's arrival we had fun preparing Molly's room! I truly enjoyed nesting! I made curtains, pillows, and decorations for Molly's nursery. Dusty & Uncle Dugger assembled the furniture!
last Ultrasound at 36 weeks! | Washing Molly's clothes for the first time!!!! | So excited to get to see Molly!! | A sweet gift from Sarah Jo | Hiking Piestewa Peak with E-Mac | Aunt Shawna reading to Molly | 6 months pregnant! | Hanging out at the pool...two days past due... so excited to meet Molly!!
Molly's due date was July 5th 2010, but she wasn't ready to go anywhere! At our doctors visit on the 5th Dr. Dado discussed our options of inducing and possible c-section. I left the appointment scared and upset, hoping Molly would decide to make a move before we had to make a decision. Luckily on the morning of July 8th, on my way back from accepting my new job as Fitness Director at Gainey Village , I felt cramps. By the time I got home I realized they were contractions. I called Dusty to let him know, but told him not to leave yet. The contractions started 20 minutes apart and within an hour they were down to 10 minutes apart so I called Dusty, and he headed home (he later confessed that he drove home at 60mph he was so excited)! I packed the "go bag" in January, so it was ready to go...we grabbed it and Dusty, Kim, and I headed to Shea Hospital. Before we left Dusty and I shared a sweet moment realizing that the next time we were home, Molly would be with us!! By the time we left (12:45 pm) my contractions were 5 minute apart and becoming more uncomfortable. I had a couple contractions in the car and they were so uncomfortable, I couldn't wait to get into the hospital and get comfortable.....well we got to the hospital, but I didn't get comfortable until about 8 hours later when Molly was born! Labor was so much harder than I ever expected. Dusty and I prepared to have a natural childbirth, with The Bradley Method of "Husband Coached Labor." Dusty was absolutely the most amazing coach I could have ever asked for. He was by my side every minute of labor...eight hours...walking in the hospital halls, giving me ice chips, helping me in and out of the whirlpool tub, cheering me on when I wanted to quit, and the best moment of the day...Dusty was there to help Dr. Dado deliver Molly! Kim was there as Molly took her first breath in Dusty's hands, words cannot describe how amazing that moment was....and it has kept getting better ever since!! | LABOR DAY!
 hui | Molly Ann Thompson was born at 9:02 pm on July 8th 2010! 9lbs. 12.8oz. 22in.
The days after Molly was born were a total blurr of excitement and exhaustion. The day after Molly was born we had visitors, learned to give Molly a bath, saw Dr. Dado, got packed up, and left as soon as Molly was released. The first night home was absolutely crazy and without sleep. We were lucky that Kim was in town to help with the transition. In the following month PawPaw, Grammy, Super Grammy, Aunt Shawna & Uncle Dan all came to visit and help out!
August 2011 Dusty qualified for Ambassador Travel and we all got to go to Coeur d'Alene Idaho! It was a wonderful week. I enjoyed being outside taking Molly on morning walks (which I could not do in 115 degree heat in Phoenix)! Dusty played the resort course and parred the famous island green! We rented a boat with our new friend Lia (an agent from Napa, CA), her husband Joel, and their two kids. We enjoyed every moment of our first family vacation!
Fall 2010 was one of the most exciting and crazy times for our family! Molly started at Temple Kol Ami when she turned six weeks old, I started my new job at Gainey Village as Fitness Director, and Dusty celebrated 2 successful years with his agency and got transfered into the MAFO! Molly started laughing and getting more fun EVERYDAY!
Thanksgiving 2010 We traveled back to Fort Wayne to spend the holiday with family and friends! We had dinner with TWSEM, saw Emma at Target, made turkey enchiladas, played Things, and enjoyed singing Jingle Bells to Molly! It was a truly special trip.
Christmas 2010 was the best yet! Grammy kicked it off when she visited in early December! We had a Christmas sleepover at Dave and Adriane's! We shared a special night of gifts and good times! Grandad flew us home to Pittsburgh for Christmas and planted Molly her own Christmas tree (with pink lights)! We got to see Grammy, Super Grammy, Gramin, PopPop, The Summer's Family, and PAWPAW! It was such an amazing first Christmas! | Our 1st Coffee Cake!!
We closed 2010 and rang in the New Year with Dave, Adriane, and Vaughn at Mormon Lake. We decided to drive up to ML eventhough I-17 was "closed" (per ADOT). We made it with no problems, through 10 inches of snow!! Once we arrived we shared diner at the cozy and rustic ML Lodge. We played Scatergories, Molly jumped in her jumper, Vaughn was walking! and made forts with his blankets. Dave ate a jalapeno stuffed olive that was so hot he had to eat snow! During our trip it got down to -25. Luckily Dave had purchased space heaters to keep the kiddos warm. They worked great until the last night when the electricity went out! We bundled the kids up and packed up in a hurry! The first year of this family tradition was a blast...can't wait for the years to come!!
2010 was an incredible year, the best yet. Words cannot describe the joy that Molly has brought to our life. We were fortunate to see our distant family several times this year, we shared so many special memories! Even at this young age, it is a joy to see Vaughn and Molly together...I can't wait to watch them grow! We are so blessed and can't wait for what is to come!!
