FC: The Popular Mistake By: Westin, Preston, Nick, Gabby, Stephanie

Westin plans on going to the movies, but then he receives a text about a party.

Westin debates the two options; He can either attend the party or go to the movies. Having attended a party in the past, Westin knows the consequences of certain actions.

The tough decision Westin must make will impact his future. He can follow the popular crowd and have a wild night, or he can spend a low-key night at the movies with his buddies.

Westin weighs the two options. He visualizes himself in the party scenario and the consequences he would face should he choose to attend the party.

At the party, alcohol is indubitably present. Pressured by his peers, Westin partakes in some drinking games.

Soon enough, Westin finds himself wasted and out of control.

Westin is partying with the popular crowd and they accept him into their group because he is drinking. However, Westin does not know that he will soon pay for his actions.

Westin drinks too much, and throws up at the party.

Soon enough, neighbors complained about the noise from the party and the police were called.

When the police arrive at the scene of the party, they find underage teenagers with possession of alcohol. As they begin to make arrests, Westin pleads for mercy. He realizes that if he is arrested, his goals of college are nothing but dreams.

However, the police show no mercy towards Westin. They arrest him and send him to jail.

Snapping out of his visualization and spooked by the potential consequence of attending the party, Westin decides to choose the smarter option of going to the movies.

That night, Westin goes to the movies with his buddies. He ends up having a great time without getting in trouble with legal authority.

The dilemma that Westin faced is not uncommon amongst teenagers. The pressure to fit in and be with the "popular" crowd lures teens into unwanted situations in which their future is on the chopping block. In this scenario, Westin made the right choice. He sacrificed being "cool" but he saved his future.
