the freshman class | Hey gal pal it has been a most splendid season with you and I only wish it could have been longer! It seems like only yesterday I met you and we were out on the soccer field playing 4 on 4. I’m so glad you were on my team because you really saved me from the one they call “Mully”. From that point on I knew that you were a good egg . Thus when the coaches announced that you were A. captain I couldn’t have been happier. You did such a great job throughout the season making CGK 2011-12 a truly special team that I wouldn’t trade anything for. Thanks for always bringing a positive attitude and great work ethic it made those herbbies that much easier. I want you to know that I love you so much boud and would have done anything I could have done to have ended on a better note for you! From the bottom of my heart I will miss you so much and I wish you the best in your ever so bright future! | Ol’ Boud, I’m going to start off by saying you were always a great leader and you really help guided us freshmen on the right track to be successful here. You really made my transition to Clarkson an enjoyable and smooth one. You were always there to talk and always gave great advice. I’m sure going to miss you randomly shooting pucks at my feet when we are warming up, or having you try so hard to score during warm-up. You always kept it fun which always put a smile on my face. To be honest some days I wondered if you should be strapping on the pads instead of me, kudos for being a giant bruise all year! | You pushed me everyday to give an honest effort and for that I thank you. You always were there to give the team a confidence boost no matter the situation. You didn’t take one day off all year and always gave it your all, which makes you a huge part of Clarkson Hockey. Each one of you brought something unique and special to this team that will never be forgotten. I am truly grateful that I got to be a part of your last year with this program. You knew it would always been a great time when Ol’ Boud was around. I will miss you greatly in the next years and I wish you the absolute best in whatever you do.
Boudy, I don’t know where to start. Thank you for this amazing year! You have been a great leader this year. You worked hard all year long, and you had a great season. You were one of our best defenses, and we will miss you next year. This is a quote that describes the attitude that you had all year; “Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don't turn up at all. ” You were scarifying your body every single time you were on the ice weather it was a practice or a game. You were always blocking shots, and that is one of the things that you left here at Clarkson. Every year from now on, we will expect a “Boudy”; someone that will always be willing to take one for the team, and that will work hard every day. Best of luck in the future. There is no doubt in my mind, I am sure you will do great. Keep in touch. | Boudy! Biggest thing I want to say is thank you so much for all your support throughout the year and I am going to miss you lot next year! I appreciate your help both on and off the ice so much and whenever we do a battle drill I will always think about you telling me to just pick it up, and push myself that much further. You have been an amazing leader and were able to handle the worst of situations with ease. I hope you all the best in your future and know you will do great with whatever route you choose to go on. I will miss your jokes, and your ability to make anyone laugh even at the worst of times. On a last note I just wanted to leave you with a quote that reminds me of you. “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. “John Quincy Adams. I wish you all the best in your future, and please keep in touch! Going to miss you a lot! Love Jennifer Shields
Dearest Boudy, It was a privilege to get to sit by such a hip cat all year. You better not lose those photos I gave you for secret Santa! By listening to you, you taught me how to never give up and to truly love and play for what you believe in. Also, I would like to thank you for setting such a good example for our freshmen class. You guys were so welcoming to us, and I think by doing that it made our transition into college much easier. Playing alongside you on the blue really taught me to be a better player, and out of anyone I look up to you the most because you were willing to throw your neck on the line to block that slap shot from the point and you can long body with the best of ‘em. I wish you good luck in the future, and I can’t wait to see you beat the world at anything. Love Ella a.k.a. Cool Cat | Big Ol’ Bitch, You big ol’ bitch. You were such a great friend and teammate. You gave it everything you got everyday and never took a day off. You tried to get us pumped when we were down and it made an impact on everybody. You were always covered in bruises from blocking shots all the time and you always sacrificed yourself for the team. Everyday at practiced you always pushed me to be better and I appreciated it. I thought you did a great job of leading this team, and we couldn't have asked you to do anymore because you put your heart and soul into this team. | I was so glad that I got to be on your team this year although I wish it could have been more. You have such a good sense of humor and you always made me laugh. We always had such good times together and laughed about everything. I will miss you so much and hope that I see you a lot next year! I know you will do great in what ever you do! I wish we could have gone farther this year just for you and the other senior's sake. I wish you all the best and will miss you tons!!! And I will also miss Gayle and the rest of your family! But all I have to say is, you better come visit you big ol’ bitch!!! Love, Taylor
The sophomore class | I am going to miss seeing those pearly whites through that mask of yours, they really brought a twinkle into my day. I’ve had so many great memories with you and will always remember your sense of humor. I can’t count how many times that I had a rough day, but when I came to the rink you always made me laugh and my day better. Thank you for being a great leader this year and showing me the definition of hard work. The rainbows that we would see on your body after practices or games will be missed. Thanks for everything Boud, you have so many talents and you will flourish in whatever you do. Good luck next year and please come visit | Hey bouds, whats going on? First off I would just like to say thank you for laughing at my jokes and making me feel funny! You always made me feel like a comedic genius. On the flip side thanks for making me laugh, probably one of the funniest people I have met in my life. Anyways moving on, I would like say thank you for just being you, thank you for being you through the two years I have played with you. I am not sure you know how much of an impact of just being you has on everyone around you! Just the way you carry yourself as aperson affects everyone in a positive way around you and it was amazing being apart of that, everyday I was able to learn from you, was able to follow you and I was able to be confident in what I was doing because you were always there cheering me on and telling me that I was doing things right and the things I wasn’t doing right. So thank you for everything, thank you for just being you and good luck with everything you are gunna do amazing out there in that real world. P.s if your ever in Ottawa you can sleepover..oh wait haha (I hope you remember this from when we were talking about capital hoedown and who you would stay with hahha) much love ratty.
Thanks for being such a great teammate and leader for the past two years. I am so glad that I got to spend these two years with you and have learnt so much from you both on and off the ice. You are the ideal teammate, player, and leader and the contributions and sacrifices that you have made to our team are more than any of us could have asked for. You are that player that we can always count on, to always give their best and do what is best for the team. I’m going to miss you always making me laugh and of course will miss all those blocked shots all of which still impress me. You are the definition of a role model and I can only hope that if I wear that number 10 next year that I will represent it as well as you did (or at least come close). Keep in touch, I will miss you but I know that you are moving on to great things! | Thank you for being such a great leader and teammate. You have such a great work ethic and that will take you very far in life and I’m so excited for you. Good luck with everything in the future, however I have no doubts that you will be very successful. Also remember the first time we talked on Facebook chat and I asked how your visit with Alaska went. Hahaha. Thinking about it now, like what was I thinking, I must have sounded soo creepy lol. Anyways, thank you for being such a great leader and teammate. You have such a great work ethic and that will take you very far in life and I’m so excited for you. Also, I hope you always think of me when you get twins mixed up, go to the bar and mistake your friend for someone else, or simply laugh and think of me when you meet two people named Amanda and Brittany lol. Good luck with everything in the future, however I have no doubts that you will be very successful. Xo. Luck
Ol Boud. Ol Boud. Ol Boud. So much to say Well, I will start by saying how special of a person you are. And how I love everything about your family. And how super dog will be missed next year. And how your dedication has brought tremendous assets to the program. And how having you as a leader was an honor. And how leading by example was your way of doing things, and you did it successfully. And how not having you around next year will suck. And how your daily jokes and sarcasm will be the one thing I can’t replace next year. And how your ability to say the right words at the right time will be missed. And how I want to thank you for all the help and tips you have provided me throughout my first 2 years. | Bouds, you have been a true and honest teammate all along, and I’m really thankful for this. You have led the team in every aspect of the game. Last year, when I was trying to figure out what “Clarkson Hockey” was, I decided to turn to you and watch you practice, play and act around the team. Well let me tell you one thing, it didn’t take me too long to understand its definition. You are the best example of what a Golden Knight should be like. I wish you all the best in the real world. Never forget that the bumps you faced throughout your journey as a member of the CGK family forged who you are today and will bring you strength and courage when needed. You deserve happiness and success wherever you will go. Thank you again for everything you have done for me, and the program itself. It has been a true honor to play, laugh, eat, drink, party, train, run, study, swim, block shots, win, lose, and create memories with you. Forever young. I heart you, Minivan xxx. | Dear Puss, Since you translated my French essay the other day, (by the way you did a very good job at it and thank you again) and you seemed to perfectly understand what I was trying to say, I thought maybe I could write to you in French? Good luck in the future, you deserve the best. Bye bye
OK I am going to put my serious face on here and in case you don’t know what that looks like exactly feel free to picture it as you would like. I really cannot thank you enough for the past 2 years, you have taught me so much. Your leadership is something teammates can only dream of and your work ethic is second to none. Not only have you made a huge impact on the program but so has your family, everyone will certainly miss all of the Boudreaus! I also want to thank you for just being my friend, it sure was a pleasure sitting beside you all year. Good luck with your future endeavors, I’m confident I have helped prepare you for the real world!! I will miss you! Love Merc | First I’d just like to say that I am still waiting for my adoption papers so I can become a boudreau. Your entire family is so much fun to be around, it is no wonder you are the way you are. I am going to miss your witty jokes next year; you know how much I love them. I don’t even know who is going to block the jenner slap shots. I will finally admit that I do not think you are soft, you bruise like a peach but you are one tough cookie. Your work ethic was contagious for me. I could always look to you if I needed a reminder of how to work hard. Good luck in the real world you adult. Have fun and work hard and you will do great things. Please come visit next year. YOUR the best.
The junior class | Dear Old Boud. It has been a long and wonderful ride playing with you for the past three years. We have certainly had our ups and downs and I'm sure we will continue to have those, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Since I met you I've recognized that as a player, your dedication, sacrifice, work ethic and leadership are inspiring to your teammates and myself. Off the ice, those same traits make you the great person and friend that you are and I know that will never change about you. I have had a great time as your roommate this year, and I will miss you ripping on my imperfections and trying to pretend that I am not funny. You are a great friend and a hilarious person, and I feel lucky to have you in my life and know that we will stay close after our time is up here. I know you will have all the success in the world, and you deserve all the great things that will come your way after Clarkson. This was truly heartfelt so please refrain from making fun of me for my kind and honest words. Here's to all the wins and the losses, blackouts, and the rest of the memories, it's been a hell of a time. Skid | Well since I already wrote something so long on your banner.. this may not be as great as you’re expecting. Of course I will miss you when you leave me forever in a few months, but that’s life isn’t it? Leaving. It is a brutal world out there and we went into this knowing that one day we would have to part our ways. That day has come and it is just around the corner. We will have to make the best out of the time I have left with you as my across the hall roommate, Cuba will be a good time for this. Spring break twenty thirteen is when you will get to see me next year as well as other random boudy trips that may happen before that (that means you driving down here if you didn’t understand their full meaning). I hope you have a splendid summer and I know I will be seeing you. Sometimes apart, never alone. I love you. Hailey
the senior class | Mama P wrote the message as if she was speaking to some sort of imaginary friend. Sorry for this classic mix up. Danielle Boudreau is a not the type of person you meet everyday. In four years I am still not convinced she is a normal human being but she’s grown to be one of my most favourite people. Ol’ Boud, as we call her, could be the funniest individual I know with her dry humour and her outrageous personality. She has the most wonderful family and if you spend one day around them you will know where Boudy gets her genuine stature. When I met Danny four years ago, she came across as a very independent lady. She’s put up with a lot since she’s been at Clarkson and I am both extremely grateful and proud for what she’s done for the team. | Boudy is never afraid to speak her mind and I know that is one thing she will continue to do in her pursue to become a lawyer. *Side Note- I never really considered law school as an option for me but it def sounds like something you and I could make a practice out of food for thought! I want to thank her for being my super sweet wingman our senior year. It’s definitely been a complete 180 from last year and I think her as a leader has a ton to do with it. We’ve been tough and serious when we need to be but she’s never failed to bring some humour to an awkward situation. On the ice, we could count on her to sacrifice her body when the time arose, stick it out for a lengthy shift, and kill of an entire power play because “YOU TWO CANNOT GET OFF THE ICE!” I will never forget our full on conversations out there “KATE! You take far side! Yup, got it Ol’ Boud.” “Ooo, nice pass Bouds, now let’s get up ice.“ “Wheel! Up! D to D, Reverse, Energy, get our passes on, You got Time! (Matt Kelly)- SHUT UP you two, let them figure it out!” I will forever credit us for being the #1 most annoying captains in Clarkson history! Thank you so much for being odd like me and always being yourself! I’m not sure there is a person in the world that can say you haven’t brought a smile to their face and I hope that never changes. Love you always, Katelyn xox
Not too sure how we became friends as one of my most vivid memories of freshman year of you is the fact of you making the entire team sprint because you decided to sleep in. But we overcame this major drawback during freshman scavenger hunt with bitching about the winner of the task! Although we did not know this, we would start an incredible friendship in the near future. Sophomore year was one that will always stick out in my mind when having memories about you, as this was ITALY! We both saw sides of each other that we have never seen before, the fun no hockey out of the country. The perfect place to learn to drink wine, wear dresses, hang out with a bidet, eat an abundant amount of carbs, 21 day bender, flirt with professors, and make lifelong friendships. I could go on for days about the memories there, but it will be more fun to reminisce when we meet up again later on in life. You have gone through a few challenges while in Potsdam, but you managed to keep them away from the team. That is just one of the reason of why you are a great teammate and leader. I respect you for this as many could not have done what you did. This shows the kind of person you are, the fun, loving, caring, confident individual you are. I would also thank you for allowing me to meet and feel a part of your family. I believe I have another place to call home. You know how to make me laugh, and have serious conversations. I also know that if anyone else dates my old man, it could defiantly be you. Love you my tiny sac of potatoes!
Danielle Boudreau, you woman can be some crazy drinker (here I’m referring to a dinosaur who was named after Edward Drinker Cope who made important dinosaur discoveries in his career) when you want, which is almost all the time. I know in my “Know your Knights” I wrote my name for the funniest person on the team, but this award goes to you. You are a key element of this class. You made us laugh when we weren’t felling like it, and you’ll keep doing it even if we’re leaving Clarkson. If found a little saying related to the dinosaurs behavior and I feel like it describes us during our past four years, and hopefully the one coming up. “Deinonychus fossils have been uncovered in small groups near the remains of the herbivore Tenontosaurus, a larger ornithischian dinosaur. This had been interpreted as evidence that these dromaeosaurs hunted in coordinated packs like some modern mammals.” I’ll admit we don’t hunt, at least not dinosaurs, but we do stick together, so we’re not so different from Dinosaurs. | I’ll always remember when we’d be kidding around but never sure if the other one was actually kidding or being serious and then we’d have those awkward moments of silent until we figured out that it was a joke. I really enjoyed these passed years beside you and I’m really grateful to be the teammate of a player who blocked over a thousand shots in her career and never complained about it, but mostly bragged about the number of bruised she had. From you I have learned that not being so serious some time is a good thing. Having fun in what you do is what makes you want to do it again. I’ll be missing you greatly in my future, so expect tickets for the habs one day or another because we have yet to go to a game together. Boudy, thank you again for making my four years at Clarkson the best ones I could have ever imagined. I’ll let you on a French saying that I like: “Reve pas ta vie, Vit ton reve”
You are, and always will be, my shot blocking bruise brother. Contrary to popular belief our bruises are not a result of “bruising easily” (utter Hogwash) and I will forever have your back on that. Actually, I will always have your back on everything. You were the first person I knew before I came to Clarkson and can remember many times when I wanted to say hi before we came. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much time before the ref dropped the puck at the faceoff to get out a greeting. And I got stage fright. It took no time at all for our childhood rivalries to completely disappear once we met each other. Actually all it took was a shared view of the intimidating, bandana wearing, mad looking redhead sitting in the chair at our first team BBQ. Through the years playing with you, I’ve learned a lot. I know you’re similar to me in the sense that you take everything in and you notice the things you admire in people. What I admire most about you is home much trust I had in you on the ice. You always knew the type of player you wanted to be and you did whatever you had to do to become that player. I believe that one of the hardest things to do is be the player who doesn’t make mistakes. You can take pride in the fact that you were able to do it. If you needed to throw yourself throat first to eat a puck, you would do it. You made it look so simple and it’s not simple. Every time you were out on the ice your grit was inspiring and your effort was so obvious. I think Team Ontario missed out big time. Take that Fran. I know the point of this little message was to reflect on our pasts together and how all these events and moments have formed the friendship we have now, which is completely true, but I would like to propose some ideas for our future. I am seeing a Kosziwka/Boudreau Reunion wine and cheese party. This could get really big and when that happens we can possibly change the name to Kosziwka/Boudreau Reunion Wine and Cheese Festival. But this is, of course, all in the planning stage. And if you ever miss your bruises as much as you miss where they came from, I am only a phone call away. I will tape you down and chuck stuff at you until your heart is content. I love you bouds
the one and only... Pete! | Bouds, I honestly don’t even know where to begin. In the past few years I have not only found a friend in you, but a best friend and a sister I never had before. You have truly shown me the definition of a leader and importance of having support and being there through absolutely anything. The amount of time we have spent together and some of the things we have done will never be forgotten. I don’t think there has been a single time where you and I were together and it wasn’t a good time. Whether it started with captain or a long ride from Ottawa to Ajax, it was never a bad time. See ya Captain Morgan. Nobody will ever forget the nights such as Magwyer’s where we were clearly the sober ones or the great Boudreau family Christmas. You have also taught me that it is acceptable to eat kraft dinner with collectible spoons. Sorry I’m not sorry Gayle. Thinking back the past few years, you were always one of the first people beside me throughout every up and down. You know more about me than anyone else and have truly helped me with so much. I won’t ever forget the talks, the memories, getting asked if we are dating, and most of all you and your family. Was I drunk the whole time I dated her? Stupid Peter. Thank you for being there and being the best friend I could ever ask for Cotton. Can I tell you something without you getting angry? I love you.
coaches and family | Danielle, No one could have predicted that the little girl using the boards to stop would some day be a leader on her hockey team while playing NCAA Division 1 for Clarkson University. In life you just never completely know what the next stage will bring. You came to Clarkson as a teenager excited by the opportunities that lay ahead but you leave it as a confident and mature woman, intent on making as much of a difference in your life and the life of others close to you in the next stage as you did in the last one. With your words and actions, you and your senior classmates/teammates have set a tradition for others to follow and in the process have set the bar very high. The bonds and friendship created and reinforced in the heat of the battles will be lifelong. | The early morning practices, intense workouts, late night skates, long bus rides mixed with studies and exams have prepared you well for whatever direction your life takes you and rest assured that we will be there as always with our support, watching from the sidelines with all our love. In your freshman year, a senior parent told us to enjoy each moment because it goes by so fast. We didn’t realize at the time how quick it would be. And then one day it’s over, just like that. | The finality of it all is overwhelming, paralyzing really and that’s us. We can only imagine how you felt. You have created memories that will be with you for the rest of your life. Take time to look back over the past 4 years from both a personal and team standpoint and be proud of what you have accomplished. I know we sure are. Well done Danielle!!!!!! Love Always, Mom and Dad. | There are two major things that make you really stick out to us; your desire to sacrifice any part of your body in the name of stopping a puck, and your unique sense of humor. Both make you special and both will be impossible to replace. You have set the bar in terms of work ethic and desire and we are hoping the younger kids on the team will take a page out of your book moving forward. Thanks for always sacrificing for what was best for the team and playing any position and role in doing so. Players like you are impossible to replace and we are really proud of what you accomplished during your career.
 ...Couldn't leave behindThe Wonderful Marge!
Happy Graduation Knights, Look how far you’ve come. Survived herbies, swims and marathons, Feats impossible for some. I can’t believe you’re all seniors now, The elderly on the team. Looking back on my years as a lady knight, It’s seems almost as if a dream. Although it’s been a few years now, And my memory’s less than par. You’ll always be a part of me, No matter near or far. Boudy, A member of the pit-plus-one, Upon arriving freshmen year, A female version of Michael Phelps, Destined for Dallas to cheer. From freshmen year to senior year, Many friendships you all have made. Although it is sad you must be glad, For the memories that will never fade. It is now time for you all to move along, To say goodbye to New York State. You should be proud of all you’ve achieved, So now time to celebrate!! Congratulations ladies! Love and miss you all : )
Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there... to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but when you look eyes with them, you know that every moment that you are with them, they will affect your life in some profound way. And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power or heart. | Everything happens for a reason! Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere, safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from.... In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. MAKE EVERYDAY COUNT! Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people who you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, even if it doesn't seem right because you are too young or too far, just follow your heart. Surround yourself with those who make you smile, laugh, and make you happy. Break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own future and LIVE IT!
Don't cry because it's over... | ...smile because it happened!
