2: It's a Boy! | Omar Khayyam was born on May 18, 1048. | Ghiyath al-Din Abu'l-Fath Umar Ibn Ibrahim Al-Nisaburi al-Khayyami | Real Name | Omar was born in Iran to a family of tent makers.
3: Contributions to Math | Khayyam used this equation to solve cubic functions. | Book: Treatise on Demonstrations of Problems of Algebra | He expanded on Euclid's work dealing with ratios. | Omar used and solved binomial equations with binomial coefficients | He recognized 13 different cubic functions.
4: Astronomy | Made discoveries dealing with astronomy. | There is a lunar crater named after him! | He helped form a new and more accurate calendar for Persia. It is more accurate than the Gregorian calendar.
