14: I used to see you walking around school, I knew who you were but the words we shared were little. I love high school because it was a place to go and share stories, make stories and do the things that eventually would occupy space in my most treasured memories. I wonder if God kept you just a distance enough away so that he could save the best for last? If I had known then that his plan all along was to bring you to me in the later years, I would have begged him to please not wait so long.

15: We would talk on the phone for hours. Getting to know someone, ironically, someone I knew almost all my life, just in a different way. 26: Moms Zuppa Toscana Soup | One pound ground Spicy Italian sausage One box smoked bacon 4 cups water 2 cans chicken broth 2 large russet potatoes, cubed 2 large cloves garlic, crushed 1 medium onion sliced 2 cups chopped kale 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream salt and pepper to taste Brown sausage and bacon separately and set aside (do not crisp bacon) Combine broth, water, garlic, potatoes in a pot and simmer till potatoes are half done. Add sausage and bacon to soup and simmer 10 mins. Add kale, heavy whipping cream and salt and pepper and simmer for another 10 mins. | In The Kitchen With A Christmas Tradition | Mulled Apple Cider | 1/2 cup light brown sugar 2 qts filtered apple cider or juice 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves 1/4 teaspoon allspice 3 cinnamon sticks Dash of nutmeg Captain Morgans RUM (optional) Put cloves and cinnamon sticks in cheesecloth, tie tightly and drop into pot with remaining ingredients simmer for 1 hours..

27: Mom's Clam Chowder One box smoked bacon slices 1 medium onion 2 (5oz) cans baby clams, save juice 6-7 potatoes, cubed 2 (10-1/2oz) cans cream of celery 1 cup heavy cream 1 cup milk 1 block butter 1 teaspoon dried dill weed Add bacon to pot and cook, add onions and clam juice and cook till onions are soft. Add potatoes and cook till tender. Stir often. Add clams, soup, cream, dill and milk- Stir, then add butter. Simmer on low for about 30 mins (stir occasionally) | Mom's Custard Pie 2 deep dish pie crust 6 eggs 2 cans (14oz) eagles brand condensed milk 2-1/2 cups med hot water 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 2 tsp vanilla | Preheat oven to 425* In a mixing bowl add eggs and lightly break egg yolks. Add cream and whisk till well blending but do not over whip. Add dry spices stir only to incorporate. Add hot water a little at a time, stirring at the same time to aid scrambled eggs!! Bend well and pour into two pie crust. Bake at 425* for 5 mins then turn the stove to 350* and continue baking to Jello like consistency

28: Mochiko Chicken 5 pounds boneless thighs 2 eggs 1/4 cup mochiko flour 5 Tablespoon aloha shoyu 1/4 cornstarch 6-7 minced garlic 1/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon minced ginger 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup sliced green onion Cut chicken in halves, In a bowl mix dry ingredients together. In another bowl combine eggs, shoyu, garlic, ginger and green onions. Marinate overnight (turn often so that all pieces are marinated evenly) and deep fry on medium till golden brown | Easy Oven Kalua Pork 3 pounds pork butt 1/4 cup Hawaiian salt 2 cups water 1 Tablespoon liquid smoke Using Reynolds medium size and coat meat well ( you may cut pork into two or three big pieced for faster cooking) roasting bag, place all ingredients into the bag and bake at 325 for 3 hours or until is soft enough to shred. You may add more Hawaiian salt or liquid smoke once it is done to desired taste.

29: Blueberry Cheesecake Pie Crust 3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 blocks) 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 1/2 cups flour 1 cup finely chopped nuts (walnuts pecans or Mac nuts) Beat butter and brown sugar 1 can blueberry pie filling Add flour and nuts. Press dough into 9x13 pan (or 2 round pie pans) and bake at 375 for 10 mins. or until top is lightly browned - Cool Filling 1 box lemon Jello 1 8oz box of cream cheese 1/2 pint container cool whip 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoon sugar 1 cup boiling water dissolve Jello in boiling water and set aside. In a bowl blend together cream cheese and sugar till well blended. Slowly add Jello and incorporate well and allow to slightly cool. Add whip cream and blend slowly together. Do not over mix. Pour into cooled crust Refrigerate for one hour then top with the entire can of blueberry | One Of Dad's All time Favorite!

30: Kal Bi- Korean Ribs 4 pounds short ribs 1/4 cup aloha shoyu 2 Tablespoon sugar 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1 Tablespoon minced garlic 1 Tablespoon honey 1/2 teaspoon ginger 1/4 cup minced green onion 1 teaspoon sesame oil Combine all ingredients together and marinate overnight. Start the grill and BBQ!!! | Sweet and Sour Spareribs 1 1/2 lbs spareribs 1 Tablespoon aloha shoyu 2 Tablespoon flour 1 clove garlic crushes 1 1" ginger root crushed 1/3 cup vinegar 3/4 cup water 1/2 brown sugar 1 teaspoon salt Pineapple Chunks (optional) Sprinkle shoyu and flour over ribs and gently mix. In large saucepan, heat some oil and brown ribs with garlic and ginger, drain fat and add remaining ingredients and simmer for one hour or until tender. (May add pineapple chunks 1/2 hour before done)

31: Moms Shortbread Cookies 2 eggs 1 cup sugar 3 cups flour 2 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 pound softened SALTED butter (4 blocks) Cream butter with sugar and egg. Add vanilla and flour and mix well, do not over mix (mixture will be somewhat dry) Press into cookie sheet with sides or baking pan (9x13) and bake at 300* for 40 mins. Cut while hot and then allow to cool completely. (You may decorate by dipping half into melted chocolate and refrigerate to set) | Pelehu Ribs - BBQ Ribs 5 pounds ribs or baby back ribs 1 box brown sugar 1 cup oyster sauce or to taste 3 cups ketchup 1 cup ALOHA shoyu 1 large piece garlic Place garlic and ribs in the pot and bring to boil and boil till meat is cooked. (about 30 mins or so) Drain all the water and cool. Add all remaining ingredients and cover ribs. Marinate for no less than one hour but overnight is the best...Pelehu the ribs..

32: Guava Cake One box yellow cake mix with pudding in the mix 1 1/4 cups guava juice 1/3 cup vegetable oil 3 eggs 1/8 teaspoon red food coloring Heat oven to 325* Mix all items and beat for two mins- on high speed Spray two 9" round pans with pam. Pour batter into both pans and bake for about 30 mins. Gel Topping 2 cups guava juice 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup cornstarch In a medium saucepan bring guava juice and sugar to a boil. Make a paste with the cornstarch and a little water a bit thinner than glue like consistency (stir well) Remove guava juice from heat and stir in cornstarch paste blend and return to stove, slow boil for one min. Cool in the refrig. To Assemble Make sure cake is cooled! Spread a layer of cool whip on the first layer and then guava gel, Place second cake on top of first layer and spread the entire cake with cool first then top with guava gel

33: Pani Popo (Easy Way) 1 tube Pillsbury original biscuits 2 cans coconut milk Sugar Separate dough in a deep baking dish In a sauce pan pour in coconut milk and heat over medium for 10 mins. Add sugar to your taste (Some like it sweet and some not so sweet) I use about 3/4 cup Simmer for about 20 mins. Pour over biscuits and bake at 350* until lightly brown and all biscuits float to the top. Allow sauce to thicken by letting cool for about one hour. | Recipe For A Happy Home One cup of patience One cup of tolerance 2 bundles of hugs butterfly kisses - Use as much to obtain giggle consistency Handful of laughter Heaping cup of kindness 5 large cups of loyalty Pinch of forgiveness Stir in the children and sprinkle with adoration Stir together and place in a home until you get the perfect Ohana Foundation
