5: ... investing in your grandchildren and great grandchildren Drawing lessons Story telling- “Molly Mudcake lives on!” Musical instrument provisions Providing home movies and game nights So many laughs remembered ... giving me room to grow up as a teenager and young adult ... planning ahead to support me in a college education ... telling me how proud you are of me and my family ... allowing me to embrace the values and direction that God has given me for life while continuing your love and support ... allowing me to hear you say, “I Love YOU!” ... love and Faithfulness to Mom! ... a GREAT Family LEGACY! 8: Thank you for... | ... your career in the Air Force. It took us all over the USA and Japan on a great adventure. You do not have to apologize for the time in Texas. ... recording our lives on film. I enjoy the pictures. ... the Molly Mudcake stories. I grew up enjoying every one of them. We always got a new one when we traveled. ... the fantastic vacations we had. You always taught us history and I was fascinated. ... visiting me in the hospital when I was eight. Do you remember teaching me to recognize the make of automobiles from the side? I cannot do that now, but it was fun. ... the room of my own in the house on Fairfield. It was terrific. ... teaching me to mend books. I still use that talent!

9: ... providing my college education. It gave me a job that I love. ... for the years at ACC when we went to school together. That was a great way to go to college. ... teaching me to drive the stick shift on the Toyota. I think you about lost your sanity that day. ... Ruth. She is a blessing to us. ... the Sunday evening telephone calls. It is good to keep in touch with each other. Love, Mary

12: Thank you for... | ... marrying mom so I could be part of a terrific family ... working hard to take care of us. ... helping me bring my horse to Colorado. Even though later you fell off of her in front of Aunt Mary, Uncle Don and the cousins. You scared me to death! ... letting me bring Callie home with me. I think she enjoyed the visits as much as I did.

13: ... helping me get through college - all twenty five years. ... being in the military and taking us to so many places. It has given me a perspective on life different from so many of the people I know ... giving me many funny stories to pass on to my children; man-made, the legend of the pirate, Molly Mudcake and the thoughts go on..... ... your support in life's ups and downs. There have been a bunch!! having a lot of birthdays.

16: Thank you for... | ... instilling in me respect for other people ... teaching me to see both sides of an argument ... all the bedtime and travel stories told with all the voices ... teaching me to take photos and learn how to do my first tax return ... coming to my wrestling matches ... enlisting and retiring me from the Air Force ... being a calming voice, a security, a fail safe

17: ... being a caregiver, provider - I’ll never forget your care for me ... teaching me lessons that have lasted a lifetime ... for sharing your wisdom and mistakes, being an example ... drawing pictures of my favorite cartoon characters, all while sitting in your lap ... family vacations, and learning not to appreciate -- “all the man-made stuff” ... pirate stores and being the meanest swashbuckler that ever sailed the Spanish Main ... knowing a child is safe in a father’s arms, -- no matter how old he gets ... an example of what to be for my family, -- a man a son can be proud to say my “that’s my Dad!”

20: Thank you for... | ... your sense of humor - especially when Mom told you that you would be a father for the 5th time at age 44. ... stories of Molly Mudcake told in the oral tradition. ... artwork we will cherish forever. ... thinking I made a great model. ... cross - country road trips that showed me this amazing country and some marvelous relatives. ... telling unforgettable stories of your life and experiences. ... letting us know it's not only okay, but it's a gift to be able to laugh at yourself.

21: ... the VERY SENSIBLE fear of high places. ... giving my husband instruction and advice in the manly culinary arts of grilling and turkey carving. ... being the kind of grandpa that every grandchild will treasure in their hearts and memories. ... showing what it means to step up to a difficult task. ... the feeling of security that I never doubted: that we had a roof over our heads, that we had enough money, that we would have enough to eat, that I was loved unconditionally. ... being my father, dad, and daddy.
