FC: The BFG Summary by Jared Hamel By Ronald Dahl

The Giant This is no ordinary giant. He doesn't eat people like the other giants. He is too nice to do that. Sophie finds out that the other giants go off to eat people and she wants to help stop them from eating people. The BFG (big friendly giant) and Sophie will stop this once and for all.

Summary BFG:Age:100's of years old Role:main character Personality:friendly, kind, and compassionate Sophie:age:9 Role:main character personality:kind, loving, and helpful Queen:age:50's Role:supporting character personality:kind, helpful, and brave | Location: Between Giantland and London

The BFG He is four times as tall as the tallest human with ears the size of a fire truck. He spends most of his time catching dreams in a bottle and labeling the bottles with what the dreams are. He lives in a cave that is in the side of a mountain. His favorite thing is a fizzy drink called "Frobscottle" and the thing he hates to eat the most are "Snozzcumbers". He lives alone and is different from all the other giants: he doesn't eat "human beans" (humans). He changes from being a dream catcher to a hero who saves mankind from the beastly, human bean eating giants. Sophie She is a nine year old little girl who lived in an all-girl orphanage. She changes from being a lonely little girl who grew up without parents, to a girl who makes a giant her main family member. She was afraid of the BFG at first but quickly grew to care for him very much and together, they bravely fought the man-eating giants by using their brains.

The Queen She is the Queen of England. She is in her 50's. She is extremely kind, caring and brave. She believes Sophie and the BFG's magnificent story regarding the cruel giants. She uses her Air Force and the Army to solve the problem of the man eating giants. She changed the most from not believing in giants to becoming a believer in them.

During the spring in London, a little girl named Sophie was snatched from her bed by a Giant. The BFG is a tall thin giant with ears the size of a firetruck. He is 24 feet tall. He loves frobscottle and whizzpoppers.

The giant took Sophie to his home, which was a cave, and set her down on his giant table. He said, "What do we have here?" She didn't want to be eaten so she pleaded for mercy. He wasn't going to eat her though. She changed by not being scared of him any more. The BFG changed by going from dream catching to a hero by saving mankind.

The giant's name is the BFG and he is a harmless giant. He wanted to get rid of the other giants who ate humans on a nightly basis.

One important scene is when Sophie and the BFG were going to London to tell the Queen that there were man-eating giants on their way to London. They soon devised a plan to capture the giants. Large helicopters would pick them up and drop them in a huge pit!!

If I were a new character in this story, my role would be a man who records the giants on film and I would probably kill the giants. I would have a great relationship with the other characters in the book. I would've changed the outcome because I would have permanently eliminated the evil giants.
