BC: So in 6 days God made the heavens, earth, sea and all that is in them He rested the 7th, therefore He blessed the Sabbath and gave it to all men.
FC: The Story of Creation
. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless, empty and dark, no merriment or mirth.
God saw that the light was good & said, “Day will be your name” He gave darkness the name Night, those names have never changed.
Evening & morning were the first day, something totally new. But God wasn’t finished creating yet there was much more work to do.
Then God divided water from water with an expanse way up high There was water below and water beneath the expanse He called the sky
So God set the sky in it’s place to complete the work of day 2 But God wasn’t finished creating yet, there was still more work to do.
Then God said to the water under the sky, “Into one place gather thee” Dry ground appeared which He called the land, while the water He named the sea.
The land produced trees, both short and tall and plants of every type The plants bore seeds and fresh vegetables, while trees bore fruits that were ripe.
God smiled with glee at the work of day 3, and all the vegetation that grew But He still wasn’t finished creating yet, He had more work to do.
He said, "Let there be lights in the sky, to separate day from night” “Let them serve as signs to mark seasons and times” and give the earth it’s light.
Lesser and greater lights were created to govern both night and day God also made stars and set them apart - sparkling diamonds on display.
He then closed the door on the work of day 4; evening and morning were thru, But God was not done creating yet; He had lots more work to do.
God spoke again and by His word, animals filled up the seas Whales, sharks, dolphins and others swam about as they pleased.
He also made birds and gave them wings to soar thru the air The eagle and peacock, owl and sparrow were all made under His care.
He watched with content as the fish swam and the birds of the air flew
But we haven’t reached the end of the story; God still had work to do.
After finishing the work of day 5, God took a long look around And decided to create animals that walked or hopped or crawled on the ground.
He made lions & tigers, lizards and spiders, elephants, zebras and camels So along with the birds, fish and amphibians, there were reptiles, insects and mammals.
Then one more thing to give his creation just the right finishing touch God said, “Let’s make man in our image”, male and female to look just like us.
He made Adam the man and the woman Eve and placed them in the Garden of Eden To tend to the trees, the plants and the land, take care of the animals and feed them.
From this pair came every kindred, creed tongue and nation The father and mother of mankind, crowning jewel of creation.
Now God had reached the end of Day 6 and admired His creation brand new Then on Day 7 God rested from work w/ no more creating to do.
