2: Time: The Holocene epoch ranges approximately 10,000 years ago until present.
4: What is occurring? The Holocene starts in the late retreat or the Pleistocene Glaciers, in North America and small parts of Europe.During the early times of the Holocene epoch Ice started melting and that caused the sea level to rise about 35 meters. Many animals survived in these circumstances, others did not.
6: Plants: Plant life has not much changed during the Holocene epoch. Various kinds of plants grew in the Holocene epoch. There were also rainforest's during that time and there are a few that appear here today. A plant grew there is the Acanthus Syracuse. The Acanthus Syracuse is a tall spiky plant that small white flowers grow on. Another flower is the Cambria. The Cambria is a small red flower that grows very tall. These are some plants that were found in the Holocene epoch.

8: Animals: Many species that did not survive the harsh environment of the Holocene epoch. A number of large animals disappeared in the late Pleistocene and the early Holocene. An known animal that became extinct during that time is the mammoth. The mammoth became extinct about 3,500 years ago from today. Many animals also became extinct at almost the same tome as the mammoth like a bird called the Dodo bird. These species used to live in rainforest's. The Dodo bird used to get hunted by the Saber tooth, or other larger animals that eat meat.
10: Climate: During the first years of the Holocene epoch there was a Global warming that affected plant and animal life. At the end of the Holocene epoch there was an Ice Age that lasted many years. The Global warming and the cooling periods were about 11,000 to 17,000 years ago.
12: Summary: Many things happened during the Holocene epoch. Lots of animals got extinct, plants grew and climate changed in those past 10,000 years until present today. There were much more animals and plants that were living at that time, but not all of the are known.
