FC: The Nicene Creed

The Nicene Creed was formulated in 325 AD at the First Council at Nicea. The Roman Emperor Constantine ordered the Council of Nicea to take place to combat Arianism. Arianism was caused by a man named Arius. Arius was a heresy, and believed in different things from the Christians. His beliefs began to spread and there was a lot of controversy so that’s when Constantine decided to gather a group of Church bishops and leaders at Nicea. From the Council of Nicea, the Nicene Creed was adopted to eliminate any confusion and controversy. | This Creed is important to the Christian community because it shows what we believe in. | About the Nicene Creed

The Nicene Creed | I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; Through him all things were made. For us men and our salvation, he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.Amen.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

 I believe in one God

He is very powerful and good He made things that I can see and he made where I live like the land, the sea and the sky. | He also made things that I can't see like love and even heaven.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ

He is the only son of God He came down from heaven for us and to save as from harm | The Holy Spirit turned him into a real man and was born from Mary.

He was killed on the cross by the Romans. He died for us because he loves us and wanted to save us | He was then buried but on the third day he rose and went up to heaven to where his father was

He will come again to judge the living and the dead and all the good people will all go to live in his big kingdom forever

I believe in the Holy Spirit

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who came from the Father and the Son, and with the Father and the Son is loved and praised | The Holy Spirit sent messages by speaking through different people and that group of people are called the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, Catholic Church

I am baptised so I can be forgiven for my sins One day all of us like our families and friends will go to heaven I am looking forward to the future of the world and people. Amen.
