I plan to attend Auburn University. I choose this college, because they offer many engineering schools, and are know well for their Engineering program. Auburn has an average of 25,649 students a year. | There are dorms located on the campus at Auburn University. Also, the cost of the college per year including tuition, dorm rooms, and meal plans comes out to $33,000 dollars a year. I am working to attain a academic, and musical scholarship at the University of Auburn. I am currently on track toward a academic scholarship with a 91.6 GPA. I am also working to get a musical scholarship, and I am currently in symphonic band, and marching band.

Civil Engineering > Requirements for this profession are a Bachelors Degree. > I plan on working here in Oxford, AL as a civil engineer. > I choose this profession because, I have always loved to build things, take things apart and make something new out of it. > As a civil engineer I will need to know specifics for building structures, and blueprint design > I will make $32.67 an hour > Civil engineering is expected to grow by a 17% employment rate > My plan B career is an aerospace engineer

I choose to stay in Oxford, AL and make my living as a civil engineer. I choose Oxford, because it is 2 hours away from Auburn University, it has low price stores, and it has a great band and football program. It is located around many lakes and mountains, has a small chance of severe weather, and has a population of 154,900

 > Oxford is located near Anniston, Lineville, and Talladega. > Some entertainment/ attractions for Oxford are Time Out Arcade, Anniston Bowling Center, Anniston Museum of National History, and Aladdin's Castle. > Retail sales associates are the major job in the city of Oxford, and the three largest companies which are the Anniston Army Depot, The Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center, Sales Representatives. > I am planning on working in Oxford with Robert and Associate Surveyors > The average income in Oxford is $47,808, with an unemployment rate of 6.8% > Oxford's average temperature is above 60 degrees from the spring to the fall, but, during the winter has an average temperature of 47 degrees > Oxford has an average rainfall of 58 inches of rain a year, and an average of 2 inches of snow a year > Oxford has a medium crime rate

 > I am going to be living in Ashley Manor Apartments > The rent on my apartment is $565 dollars a month for a 1 room apartment > The security deposit per month is $50 > Some features of this apartment are a pool, balcony, clubhouse, and picnic area > They require you to have good credit, you have to have been working for 1 year, and you have to present a background check if you are 18 or older > I choose this apartment, because they provided cable television, a washer and dryer, an oven, and a dishwasher

I spent exactly $1,123.72 On fabrics and sheets I spent $92.21 On cooking items I spent $123.53 On furniture and electronics I spent $907.98 I have $876.28 left over from my graduation present to put in my budget.

I bought a used 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid LX 4D Sedan The car's price was $20,599 It has 15,000 miles on it I choose this car because it looked like new, and was at a good price I also choose to pay off the car in 36 months, because although the price is high, there is no interest, so I will save money in the long run.

On my grocery list I spent $23 on Breakfast items for the month. I spent $135 on lunch and dinner foods for the month. I spent a total of $23 on hygiene items for the month. I spent a total of $158 for all my groceries for the month.

Miscellaneous Items & ActivitiesFunds Allocated Savings $500 Home Maintenance $75 Vehicle Maintenance $75 Fast Food $100 Hair/Salon Service or Haircut $20 Entertainment $200 Clothing $100 Shoes$ 100 Pet Care Miscellaneous Items & Activities Grand Total= $1,170

On my budget I was left with $1,683.75. I spent the most money on home, because my apartment didn't provide most utilities I didn't come in contact with any unexpected expenses. I had funds from my graduation present, but next month I will have around $800 backup money. I learned that ypu have to find the best deals I didn't expect to live comfortably would cost so much My goals I learned were substantial I didn't expect to spend over $1,000 on household items I encountered that life is harder than it seems I also learned that some things you have to be without This project has taught me a lot about life and how to get started in the world on your own In the future I will be more conservative with my money I spend I am ready to move out on my own because I have everything planned out and have a budget that will get me through life spending less, so I can have fun.

Daniel is a student at Oxford High School. He enjoys basketball, cooking, and engineering. When it comes to writing Daniel likes to write about sports, fictional stories, and historical events. Daniel finds the most challenging part of writing to be developing the right story that is perfect. When Daniel gets older, he hopes to become a civil engineer. His advice for students that will be entering the 9th grade next year is to work hard and take the classes in which you will be challenged, but you will still keep a good GPA, and to follow your dreams, in which you can take the classes to be accepted in the academy your dream job is in.
