2: Boil a ham bone in 2 quarts of water for 1 hour. Remove the bone & trim the meat. Put meat back into the stock with 1/2 of a small grated onion. Simmer soup for another half hour Add 1 jar of navy beans, along with a small can of sauerkraut (squeeze out juice) To thicken.. Heat 1/4 inch of oil in large frying pan add 3 cloves of garlic cut in half & the rest of onion Fry in the oil until brown then remove (toss onion & garlic) Keep oil boiling, add flour to oil, stir until thick & light brown Add above slowly to the soup. Bring soup back to a boil. Soup will thicken as it sits | Beans & Sauerkraut Soup

3: Best Cake | Cake 20 oz can crushed pineapple 2 C sugar 2 C flour 2 eggs 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla 1 C walnuts | Frosting 8oz cream cheese 1 stick butter/margarine 1 1/2 C powdered sugar Leave cream cheese & butter out to soften | Preheat oven to 350 degrees Mix all of the cake ingredients together Grease & flour a 9 x13 pan bake for 45 minutes (WATCH CAREFULLY) Let completely cool Beat the frosting ingredients until creamy. Frost cake & sprinkle with walnuts Refrigerate

4: Trim fat Pound chops to 3/4 inch thick Dip in 1 egg & a little milk Sprinkle with Lawrey season salt Bread both sides in cracker meal Heat a small amount of oil, when hot brown both sides Bake in a 325 oven for 45-55 minutes | Breaded Pork Chops

5: Thaw potatoes Mix all ingredients except 1/2 of the cheese & parsley Pour into 9X13 lightly greased pan sprinkle the top with Parsley & Paprika Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours You can prepare 1 day ahead of baking | 2 lb bag of frozen Ore-Ida cubed hash browns 1 Can Potato soup 16 oz sour cream 1 can cream of Celery soup 1 tsp salt- 1/2 tsp black pepper 3/4 C milk 1/2 C chopped onion 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese Parsley flakes & paprika | Cheesy Potatoes

6: Chicken Fingers | 1 egg 1/2 C milk 1 tsp Dijon Mustard 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/2 C Flour 2 C corn flakes (crushed into large crumbs) 1 1/2 lbs boneless chicken breast (cut into 1 x1 1/2 " pieces) 1 1/2 T margarine melted Whisk together egg, milk, salt & pepper. Whisk in flour. Place corn flakes in shallow pan Dip chicken pieces in egg/flour mixture Then in cornflakes to coat completely Place nuggets on ungreased cookie sheet Lightly brush with melted margarine Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes until crispy and brown Serve with Honey Mustard | Honey Mustard dipping sauce 1/4 C honey 1/4 C Dijon-style mustard 1/4 C mayo 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

7: Marinade 1/2 C oil 1/4 C soy sauce 1/4 C honey 2 T lemon juice 1 tsp minced garlic In a large bowl combine all marinade ingredients with chicken cubes (1 1/2 lbs) Marinade 4-6 hours stir from time to time | Canned potatoes mushrooms onions green peppers onion wedges tomatoes pineapple Slide Cubed chicken onto skewers alternating with vegetables of your choice. Cook kabobs 7-8 minutes over charcoal. Turn halfway through cooking process This may be broiled (watch closely) or oven baked. It's just as good. | Chicken Kabobs

8: Chicken Picante 4 boneless chicken breasts 1 fresh lemon 1 Tbls olive oil flour 2 cloves garlic 1 stick butter | Preheat skillet with olive oil, butter & minced garlic Pound chicken breast then lightly flour Add chicken Squeeze lemon over chicken & brown turn over squeeze more lemon & brown other side Done when chicken is no longer pink inside Takes about 30 minutes of frying

9: Corned Beef- Green Onion cracker spread 1-2 oz pkg corned beef 1- 6oz pkg cream cheese 3 green onions Crackers (wheat thins are the best) Cut corned beef (into tiny pieces) finely chop green onions (green part too) Add to soft cream cheese Refrigerate 1 hour to blend the flavor Take out of refrigerator 1 hour before serving

10: Crock Pot Roast 3 lb rump or chuck roast carrots & potatoes cut up 1 pkg Lipton's onion soup mix | Heat 2 Tbls of oil in skillet & brown meat on all sides Place vegetables on bottom of pot add meat & sprinkle with soup mix pour in 1/2 C water...wetting the soup mix Cover & cook on low for 9-10 hours or high for 5-6 It should fall apart when done

11: Peel & slice cucumbers (very thin) Add salt, stir & let stand out for about an hour to wilt Once wilted... Add a few tsp of sugar & vinegar to a cold glass of water stir to dissolve the sugar and mix into cukes. (This is used to remove salt) Drain & squeeze Add sour cream, season & chill | 4 Cukes 1 tsp salt vinegar sugar pepper dill weed (optional) sour cream | Cucumbers & Sour Cream

12: Deviled Eggs | Deviled Eggs | Deviled Eggs | Hard boil the eggs (Bring eggs to a boil turn down & cook 20 minutes then put in cold water) Cut them in half & remove the yolks mash yolks with a fork until very fine Begin adding mayo (I use Miracle Whip and a mixer) until creamy Stuff back into egg whites & sprinkle with paprika

13: Lightly grease a 9 x 13 pan dump in 1 can crushed pineapple & spread on bottom of pan drop pie filling by tablespoons on top of pineapple sprinkle dry yellow cake mix over cherries thinly slice margarine & place on top of cake mix top with crushed walnuts Bake in 350 degree oven for an hour or until brown Let sit for an hour before eating | Dump Cake | 20 oz can crushed pineapple-unsweetened 1 can cherry pie filling yellow cake mix 1 & 1/2 sticks of margarine 1 cup chopped walnuts

14: Ingredients: 7 C boiling water 1 1/2 C sugar 12 oz can frozen lemonade 6 oz can frozen orange juice 2 C strong tea (4 tea bags in 2 C water) 1 1/2 C Whiskey, Vodka (whatever you prefer) 7 up Bring water to a boil Add sugar & stir until dissolved Add rest of ingredients (except 7 up) Stir to mix well Put in container & freeze overnight Scoop frozen mixture into a cup & add 7 up | Frozen Slush

15: Grandma Lesnau's Fluffy Frosting Ingredients 1 stick margarine (leave out to soften) 1/2 C Crisco 1 C sugar 1 Tsp vanilla 1 small can Pet Milk | PREPARATION Beat milk & sugar together (to dissolve sugar) Add Crisco & vanilla Beat until fluffy | NOTE: Start out beating on low- otherwise you'll be wearing it

16: 24 chicken wings 1 envelope Hidden Valley ranch dressing 1/3 c melted butter 1/2 c hot pepper sauce 3 T vinegar | Hidden Valley Buffalo Wings | If possible marinate wings overnight in all ingredients but dressing mix Place wings on cookie sheet & sprinkle with dry dressing mix Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 30 minutes Turn oven up to 425 degrees & bake 25 more minutes or until brown.

17: Kibbee Nayyeh-1 lb 1 large onions grated pound in 1 1/2 teaspoons salt until mushy add 1/2 tsp cumin 1/8 tsp red pepper 1/8 tsp thyme 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp orange peel 1/2 Tablespoon Mint 1/8 tsp allspice 1/8 tsp pepper | Order Kibbee Meat at Mario's meat market (ground twice) Rinse 1 cup of bulgur in cold water until clean Soak in hot water until soft Mix meat, bulgur & spices together If too dry add ice water

18: 15 oz bag of Oreo cookies 1 c melted margarine 16 oz cool whip 2 small instant chocolate pudding milk 8 oz cream cheese 1 C powdered sugar (optional) | Crush the Oreo's on the bottom of a 9X13 pan Save 3 T to sprinkle on top Pour melted butter over cookies & chill for an hour Mix 1/2 of the cool whip, cream cheese & sugar together. Spread on top of cookies & chill 1/2 hr Make pudding (milk for pie filling) pour on top of above Chill 1/2 hour Frost with the remaining cool whip Sprinkle extra crumbs on top Chill 1 hour before serving | Oreo Cake

19: Potato pancakes Grate 6 potatoes & 1 small onion Add 2 eggs add 1 tsp salt (You need the salt to make potatoes watery) Add a 1/4 C flour Mix well & let stand (until it looks like picture #2) | Once the mix is ready Heat vegetable (or canola) oil in the fry pan You will need quite a bit of oil for them to fry up crispy Stir mix Most important make sure oil very hot before adding pancakes. If not, pancakes will be greasy Stir between batches Fry until crispy & serve with sour cream.

21: #1 Brown 1 medium diced onions in 1 stick butter until soft #2 Add to mashed potatoes or to rinsed sauerkraut (Put in refrigerator to cool while making dough) #3 One egg plus 1/2 eggshell of water per 5 pierogi's #4 Whisk together eggs & water #5 Keep stirring in flour until it makes a soft dough (That you can knead without it sticking to your hand) #6 Roll the dough out on a floured board & cut into circles (Use a drinking glass dipped in flour) #7 Roll circles to increase size #8 Add potatoes to center of circle and fold over #9 Crimp shut with a floured fork #10 Put a few at a time into a pot of boiling water #11 When done they rise to the top remove & drain Last but not least... Fry up in butter until lightly browned Serve with sour cream & enjoy the fruits of your labor | * Warning your kitchen will be a real mess when you're done | Pierogi's

22: Spaghetti Sauce | 1 lb ground chuck 1 medium onion chopped Green pepper 1 can mushrooms 2-3 cloves garlic 2-16oz cans tomato sauce 1-6oz can tomato paste Parmesan cheese Brown meat & drain Add onion,garlic,green pepper & mushrooms & cook in meat for a few minutes Add tomato sauce, tomato paste & 2 cans of water for each can used sprinkle in salt, pepper & cheese Simmer & stir occasionally for 3 hours. Crock pot low for 8 hours

23: 1 box chopped frozen spinach (thaw & squeeze out) 1 C Hellman's mayo 1 package of Knorr's vegetable soup mix 16 oz sour cream 3 green onions cut into small pieces Mix together & chill at least 1 hour Put in a bread bowl or eat with your favorite crackers | Creamy Spinach Dip

24: Stuffing 8-10 slices of stale bread (leave out in oven overnight) 1 stick of margarine or butter chopped onion celery chopped 1 egg 1 can chicken broth milk Cook onions & celery in margarine- until soft break bread into cubes mix all ingredients together add milk a little at a time to make moist stuffing will dry out as cooked You can stuff into chicken or turkey or cook in a casserole dish To bake in chicken-325 degree oven for approx 3 hours or Casserole dish 350 degrees for an hour

25: 1 bag broccoli florets-thawed 2 bags success rice 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 small onion 1 stick butter 1 small jar cheese whiz | Dice & fry onion in butter boil the rice Mix all ingredients stir well pour into greased casserole dish Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes | Success Rice Casserole

26: 3/4 C Sour Cream 3/4 C Hellman's mayo 1 T dry minced onion 1 tsp Beau Monde (optional) 1 tsp dill weed 1 Tsp dried parsley flakes Mix together and refrigerate overnight for flavors to blend | Vegetable Dill Dip

27: Unroll & press together Crescent rolls in an ungreased cookie sheet Bake 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes until light brown Mix 2 packages cream cheese, 1 C Hellman's mayo & 1 pkg Ranch dressing (let stand to blend) Spread on cooled crust Top with cauliflower, broccoli, carrots,mushrooms or what ever you want Cut into pieces & refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving Note: Do not unroll dough when making a Christmas tree pizza. Leave rolled up & cut circles (16 from each can) & lay out on cookie sheet in the shape of a tree Begin with 1 at the top, then 2, then 3 etc...Tree needs to cook 11-13 minutes | Vegetable Pizza
