1: January | Kyle turned 30 on January 3rd.! | We had an amazing trip to Costa Rica with Margie and Gerry Hooper. | We flew to San Jose on January 1st, then made our way to the dock to sail on the Windstar.
2: The cruise ship left the port town of Puerto Caldera on January 2nd. The first stop was San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua where we took a bus tour to see the Masaya Volcano at the Parque National Volcan. We also took a Colonial walking tour of Grenada, where Tom bought a pair of shorts through a window in a restaurant!
3: In Quepos, we took a river boat cruise through a mangrove swamp where we saw an abundance of lizards, crocodiles, egrets and herons.
4: Margie and Gerry were so much fun. They made us laugh a lot! The Windstar cruise ship was fabulous, with amazing food. Our main waiter was Iceman. | Gerry and Janie enjoyed doing Sodoku puzzles together while the Windstar sailed to the next port. | The bus stopped so we could watch this spider monkey.
5: Margie was definitely not as excited to see that grasshopper! | We did a nature walk through Manuel Antonio National Park, with its lovely beaches, easy trails, and abundant animal life. | Our guide was so excited when he spotted this grasshopper!
6: These howler monkeys did not like us one bit! | We had so much fun on this cruise! What a great way to start 2010. | on the 'tender'
7: February | Our family travelled to the Riu Hotel in Jamaica for Kyle and Angela's wedding.
8: Lots of good friends joined us in Jamaica. | Angie and Bob DiFruscia Darcy and Cathy Rector | Marcela and Mac | Angela's brother Michael

10: We went to Dunn's River Falls - even Jade and Carter ventured up! | What an amazing adventure! Everyone loved it.
11: The weather in Jamaica was spectacular. Tom and Angela went parasailing for the first time. The deep sea fishing excursion was a little too rough for those who were a bit hung-over.
12: At Dolphin Cove - we held Elvis the iguana, wrapped a snake around our necks, held birds in our hands and swam with dolphins.
13: This place was so amazing!
14: "stir my soup" | Tom made us all laugh when he played the "Stir my soup" trick on unsuspecting hotel guests. | Jade and Carter got pretty tired out in Jamaica! | time to go home!
15: Jade turned 6 on February 15th | Christie made some amazing cakes! | More February happenings: | Carter created this cute snowman. | Brother Paul died on February 7, 2010
16: Harmony and Nick got married on February 13, 2010
17: March | Kyle and Angela bought this house in Stittsville in March - just a few weeks after getting married. | We celebrated Graham's 55th birthday at our house. We enjoyed a great meal and we all gave him silly gifts.
18: Michelle and Janie took woodworking in the winter of 2010. Our helper was Steve Moores. We made him laugh a lot. | Janie had a second foot surgery on March 24th. Here's Dr. Gan after he removed the stitches and put on a new cast. Tom took Janie for a wheelchair ride every evening for 7 weeks.... thanks Tommy- you're the BEST!!!! | Ewwww..
19: April and May | Carter played baseball. | Jade dressed up as the Paper Bag Princess for Fairy Tale Day at school. | Tom snapped this picture of a rainbow over our house and Michelle got her horse and her motorcycle ready for spring.
20: Jade and Carter have Brandon's love of karate! | Carter had his 4th birthday on May 22. He had a super-hero party -- even Batman and Spiderman came! | Jade and Sawyer are best friends.
21: June and July | On June 8th we went to see the Eagles and the Dixie Chicks in Toronto with Mac and Marcela. What an amazing show! | We went to Mac's cottage in July and guess what? We didn't take any pictures.... oops!
22: This picture of us was taken at Brandon's 38th birthday party in July. It was a lovely warm day and the party was tons of fun. | On July 12th we went to see Lady Gaga at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto with Mac and Marcela. | On July 20th we saw Bon Jovi and Kid Rock at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. | Michelle organized some horse back riding for Jade and Carter one day in July. They had a ball.
23: August | Rihanna concert Molson Amphitheatre August 5th. Ke$ha opened for Rihanna. | We went to Greg and Marie's White Barn party on August 7th - great party! | Chris turned 50 on August 12th Happy Birthday little brother!

30: Friday the 13th in Port Dover | Jeff and Mary Anne tied the knot on August 21st. | Yes - that's 'biker Tom' in the crowd!
31: September | new deck by Josh and Nick Miller | new hot tub from Home and Leisure
32: This was the first day of school in September for Carter and Jade. Carter started JK - Jade started Grade 1. | Rob left in September for more flight training. He went to Florida, California, Utah and then ended up in Buffalo. He flew this Beech 99. | Look closely and you will see the Hollywood sign in the hills.
33: We went to the Butterfly Museum with Juli and her children.
34: Papa had the biggest bean tree again. | Perry died suddenly on September 17th. | Jim Gray died on September 18th.
35: October | A brrrrr cold visit with LuAnn, Graham, Mike, Marnie, Jerrie and Brad at the Snyder's motor home.
36: On October 7th, we flew to Charlotte, North Carolina and spent the night at the Westin Hotel. | Here we are in Uptown Charlotte. | We walked to a park near the Westin Hotel that was called "the Green". It's a quaint green space decorated with clever sculptures with amusing or insightful quotes. Signposts point to cities all over the world. Pages from books are scattered throughout the park.
37: On October 8th we drove 4 hours to Myrtle Beach. | It was after this first day at Myrtle Beach that Janie finally convinced Tommy to take off his socks and shoes and walk barefoot in the sand. So this is the last picture you will ever see of Tommy with his shoes on in the sand!
38: After we left Myrtle Beach, we stopped at a Nature Reserve on our way to Charleston. It was a lovely marshy area that warned about alligators! | In Charleston, we stayed at the historic Mills House on Meeting Street.
39: We loved this old fountain so much that we ate several of our meals beside it. | the old Charleston dungeon | We took a horse-drawn buggy tour of old Charleston and learned a lot of history.
40: We took a harbour tour and saw Fort Sumter, upon which the first shots of the Civil War were fired in 1861. | The Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge over the Cooper River, constructed in 2005, is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the Western Hemisphere. | St. Phillips Church in Charleston built in 1836 - just slightly tilted!
41: We arrived in Savannah on October 12th and checked into the Mansion at Forsyth Park. Savannah is known for the Spanish moss that hangs down from its trees. | On the way to Savannah, we stopped at Beaufort where there is an old civil war cemetery. Doctors used the tombs as operating tables to perform surgery on patients.
42: Jim and Velma and Darcy and Cathy joined us in Savannah. We spent some time walking around, touring old houses and eating in fabulous restaurants. Here's Tom doing his impression of 'Forrest Gump', which was filmed in Chippewa Square in Savannah. | Cathy and Darcy
43: As we walked through Savannah, we came across this Chandler Oak - Live Oak. It is estimated to be 270 years old, with a circumference of 16 feet. Velma, Darcy, Tom, Cathy and Jim | On October 15th we drove from Savannah, Georgia to Asheville, North Carolina and checked into the elegant Richmond Hill Inn.
44: In Asheville, we visited the opulent Biltmore Estate (above) and the Grove Park Inn (below).
45: Brandon and Carter were Batman and Robin for Halloween. | Tom went to a conference in Edmonton and while he was there, he went to an Edmonton Oiler hockey game. Being the sweet grandpa that he is, he bought Jade and Carter these Edmonton Oilers shirts! | Christie told us that the kids were so excited to wear their hockey shirts to school. All their friends loved them! Jade and Carter were so proud.
46: Michelle bought this cute little house in Baden - the deal closes next March. | Christie had these great family pictures taken in the fall. | Jade and Carter like to sleep together!
48: Christmas as usual at Papa's house. | Santa came with a gift for all the kids! | with Mac | with Greg
49: Here's a little family that we are so proud of. | lots of smiles while making lunch on Christmas day | like father...like son!
