FC: Kari Feuer | Painted Landscapes
1: Kari Feuer | These landscape paintings are all oil on canvas, painted with the palette knife. Set in the Hudson Valley, the Atlantic Coast and the mountains in Montana, these are all places that I've absorbed through all my senses over the years. I try to represent the serenity and beauty of the scene, rather than its detailed portrait, by letting the light and the season give their direction to the conceptualization of the painting process.

21: Kari Feuer grew up in the Pacific Northwest, playing in the woods and streams and establishing a rapport with nature. After college and moving to New York's Hudson Valley, she she established a design business that allowed her some flexibility to study painting as time allowed. She became known for her landscapes in pastels and oils, and in recent years has been painting full-time and working on a parallel body of abstract paintings based on nature. Her work has been shown in many galleries i the Northeast, collected on three continents and received national recognition.
