Our Furry Friend Alexis Born: August 1990 Died: March 23, 2012 Aged 21.2 years
The First Time I met you... | Libby Carroll Poppleton and I lived at 27 Dolson Pl, in Stamford, CT. Mama was a gray and white stray cat we fed and cared for her, though not IN the apartment, since we couldn't have pets. Mama would lie down to be pet, and I'd feel the kittens move in her belly, and I'd sing "Stray Cat Strut" to them. Mama went away for 2 days to give birth under the stairs of the house next door. A week later, she brought us her brood, one by one, and dropped them in the living room, watching us cautiously to make sure we weren't going to harm her babes. | August 1990 Mama bringing Alexis to meet us for the first time.
We had a whole litter of kittens and had no idea what to do with them! We put out kitten food for them not realizing they were nursing. We tried to contain them in a white plastic bin, with pillows on top but the curious critters busted out of there in no time. | You've got the cutest little baby face | Alexis was named after a character from a popular nighttime soap called Dynasty. Alexis Carrington was a BITCH, as was Alexis the kitten. With those razor sharp kitten teeth and sharp claws, she was tough to handle, but her siblings were much sweeter and were taken one by one by neighbors. Alexis was the last one left because she was so grumpy.
A Girl and Her Daddy | Lexy could often be found lying on a piece of brown packing paper. She loved the crinkly noise and having her own special spot.

Tuna | Blake was adopted in February of 1997 at 6 months old. He and Alexis never really saw eye to eye. The fighting got less and less as the years went on, and Blake was noticeably sad when Alexis died...
Meow | The two times Blake And Alexis weren't hassling each other was when they were either eating or sleeping
"Happy is the home with at least one cat" - Italian Proverb
"No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow." ~ Proverb from Guinea
Alexis died in my arms on Monday night as I lay in bed, stroking her head, knowing that she was ready to go. She took 3 final gasps of air and went to the Rainbow Bridge. We buried her in the back yard under the shed. I miss my baby girl so much | RIP my sweet girl. I'm grateful for our 21.2 years together! March 23, 2012
Alexis has lived in Stamford, CT (in 3 homes) and Boise, ID (3 homes) Pictured left, 431 Glenbrook Rd. Pictured below, at the Valendra's house.
Above: Alexis had a lump removed. Left her with a nice scar tissue lump. Left: Alexis jumped off a 2nd story porch and tore her ACL. She couldn't bend her leg so it was hard to step into the litter box, so I laid down a garbage bag, newspaper and litter... she was so "relieved" to be able to potty! | So Glad A Cat Has 9 Lives
The ideal of calm exists in a sitting cat. - Jules Reynard
White toes and a tan tip of the tail. Alexis was a cat of many colors | Lexy had many hiding spots... one was in Sean's closet | Beautiful Girl
Alexis was great at using the scratching posts! | You're nobody 'till you've been ignored by a cat =^..^=
If there was a sunbeam, Lexy would try to sleep in it.
Because of Alexis' knee surgery when she was five, she was pretty limpy/gimpy when she got old. That would cause her to sit funny... | Sitting Pretty
