25: Ranger came to live with us in May of 2002, and left us way too soon. As an active two-year-old, he settled in to life on Shady Glen Drive and proved his retriever abilities right away, bringing us whatever was left on the floor...socks, shoes, stuffed toys, etc. He quickly trained us to stop leaving our things lying around! This was only one lesson we learned from Ranger...we also learned about true unconditional love, loyalty, and how to take a great nap. Ranger had the biggest heart of any being we have known. He was an easy-going guy who never met a stranger, and he greeted every person with a wagging tail and a big slobbery face in the lap. His goal in life was to please the people around him. Well, ol' buddy, you done good...you made us all happy every day we had with you. Rest in peace, sweet boy. May you catch lots of squirrels in heaven and have an endless supply of that delicious dry dog food you love! If there are no dogs in heaven, when I die, I want to go where they went - Will Rogers
