29: Dear Sister Sophia, We are not sure when we will see you again, but we now think of your face when we look at the sun. The sun comes up in the east, and Atlanta is east of Houston, the sun is happy and bright just like you. We are trying really hard to be good and are very serious about our jobs at Texas Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. We want you to be proud of us just like we are so proud of you. 38: I am sad to say, I retired Baron yesterday as a Therapy Pet. It was a VERY HARD decision for me, as I have never had to do that before. He did a great job yesterday as always and totally seemed to enjoy his final visit. It has become increasingly harder and harder to handle him as he is now totally blind and deaf. He is still quite strong and remembers where to go, which is not always the route I want to take a blind, deaf dog, not a good, safe situation. Once again I thank the Lord for his wisdom as he placed him in the hands of a Caring Critters team leader at the time of his rescue. Hats off to Baron, he has logged over 400 hours since he became certified as a Therapy Pet in 2001. Robin
39: We send you both lots of love in his retirement. I did not realize that he is now totally deaf and blind. He is such a wonderful dog, and he is so lucky to have such wonderful parents. 50: Hello Robin. I'm just reading that Baron has crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the CC newsletter. It's so hard to lose a pet. I know he was well loved and cared for. But he is with you all in spirit as you're working with your new critter in the program... Take care. Kim Winkler | Kim, Thank you for taking the time to send me/us these very comforting words. He was afraid of his own shadow when we got him & then he discovered love through the pat of a stranger's hand. He was so happy when he went to work. I believe being a Caring Critter was the heart of his being to the very end. Thank you for all that you do & have done for all these years for Caring Critter's & your blessed pets. Robin, David & Chloe
51: Robin, Whitney just told me about Baron. I am so very sorry, my friend. Sending love and light your way. Love, Mary | Hi Robin, I am so sorry about Baron. What a great guy he was. You gave him a wonderful life and he did a brilliant job of bringing happiness to those he met through his work. I respect you for deciding that his quality of life was not what he deservedI know that was difficult to weigh out. Love to you both from us both. Karin and Gary | Robin, is this your way of saying that Baron died? Did not know he was ailing. If yes, I am so sorry...I know he was beloved by you and your family. He was a lucky dog to have a family like yours and for you, am sure he can never be replaced. The picture of him is ....words escape me. Our thoughts are with you. Love, Judy So sorry to learn about Baron. I am sure he was a loyal and good friend to you and David. I liked the photo a lot. Love, Dave
52: Baron Memories & Messages of Love | Brigitte, Thank you so much for these kind words regarding Baron, and the SO SO sad news of Cheyenne’s death. When did you lose Cheyenne? One of my absolute favorite & saddest memories was the time you came to the nursing home and you took a group picture of Cheyenne’s team mates, it was her last visit with us. I have looked at that picture several times over the past week and immediately felt comfort and pride, what awesome critters. I miss Baron so much and I know you will say the same regarding Cheyenne. They sure have a way of getting into our hearts and the beauty is they never leave it. Chloe is doing VERY well, she has not missed a beat, works four times a month at TCH and does very well. Thank you for connecting us and for helping me to figure out how to adapt to her spirited personality. I will take care and you do the same. Fondly, Robin | Robin, I am so sadden to learn that Baron passed away. I feel your pain. You gave him such good home, you were both so lucky to have found each other. Baron is now probably hanging out with Cheyenne and talking about old time. Take care Brigitte

I’m so sorry about Baron. I wanted to call you so many times but I’ve been a sobbing mess with this tooth ache. I cried my eyes out when Carolyn T told me that morning. I figured I wouldn’t of been much comfort. I hope you, David, and Chloe are doing okay. I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever. (((((((HUGS)))))) -Whitney Clanton | So sorry, I thought baron was sleeping with a toy of Lucy's. He was lucky to find his home with you to and had a blessed life. Love Kenty | Oh I am so, so sorry. Though I never met him, your stories, pictures and the joy he shared with so many are a testament to his character, compassion and love. Know that my heart aches for you, David and Chloe. 54: Baron Memories & Messages of Love | Dave & Robin – I just heard about Baron. I know how difficult it is to have to say goodbye to a canine member of the family, and send my thoughts and prayers your way. He was an incredible dog, and I know he’ll be greatly missed. He blessed many people with great memories in his years, and will be remembered fondly! Jeffrey J. Tafel, CAE | Prayer Concerns: Robin Brady's wonderful constant companion for 12 years has gone to doggy heaven. The canine had logged 97 volunteer hours at Texas Children's Hospital alone. Yours in Christ, Alan Wilken | I am so sorry. There is nothing else I can say. He is now pain free and with all of our kids playing. Take care, Judi Judi, We had to put Baron down last Tuesday, life was getting too hard for him. He did his regular visit the week before. Now he is working from above. We miss him so much. 55: Robin/Dave, My sincerest apology for my tardiness in offering my condolences regarding Bar! I went to bed with you guys in my spirit and woke up this morning with you on my heart. I know you guys are heartbroken however I also know what a blessed life Bar lead and how many lives he touch besides yours! What wonderful parents he had and what a privileged life he lead and will continue to lead in heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys! Be Blessed Dear Friends, Cheryl & Julius | Oh, Robin and Dave (and Chloe), that is such sad news and I feel your pain at losing such a special friend. The Bear had a great life and brought much joy to those in the hospital – as well as the rest of us. Truly a gentle giant. Peace be with you. - Linda Beverly Linda, just read this again, not sure if I acknowledged last week. Thank you so much for these comforting words and thoughts. He was such a good friend, he and I were together alone so much. Most of his life with us David was IFMA’s CEO and traveling & away from home was just what it was. I was blessed to have him by my side. Love to you all, Robin
56: Baron Memories & Messages of Love | Sheila Thank you so very much for your kind thoughts regarding our "Bear". He was a special guy who so looked forward to his Caring Critter visits (as recently a 8 days ago at Ronald McDonald House at Texas Children's Hospital). Dave | David & Robin, So sorry to learn you had to make that tuff decision and let Baron cross over to Rainbow Bridge. My heart goes out to both of you and Chloe right now. It’s never easy; just try and remember all the good times you've shared and how he was such a blessing in your life. I mention this in my next vet report in the Critter Chronicle. Love & Licks, Sheila, Sandy & Barney
57: His name truly fit his spirit. Baron was regal throughout his life with the Brady's and with everyone he interacted with.
58: Hey Bear, Bear - This is a sad, sad day for Mama. I feel you telling me not to be sad cuz you will always be with me, but I just can’t help it Big Guy. I’m gonna miss YOU, your smell, and the feel of your soft, thick, beautiful furry coat. I will miss my presents, even though I cannot remember when you started doing that every time I walked in the door. I will miss making the bed with you. It isn’t something we do every day anymore but when we do, it is still so very special cuz you are such a big help pulling at the blanket. I will miss your smile - I couldn’t help smiling back. I so LOVE YOU. I am so proud of you and all of the hours you have worked so hard at being such a good little Caring Critter in spite of your rough start. I do not think you ever forgot who ever hurt you, but I truly believe you forgave. People look at you and love you and you love them back, with your eyes, heart and spirit. Baron, I am so glad you found us. You are truly GOLDEN and so deserving of the love and hugs we all have given you these past twelve years and the love I wrap around you now. “Happy Tails Baron, Till We Meet Again.” | DOGS ARE OUR WHOLE LIFE, BECAUSE THEY MAKE OUR LIVES WHOLE :) | Baron died with my head on his head May 1, 2012, laying on one of his favorite spots in our home, at the age of thirteen - fifteen.
