2: CATS IN A DOG WORLD
3: Cats and dogs have been the source of much conflict for many, many years. Animal lovers all over the world have battled this question out: Which is better dogs or cats? This question is asked of everyone and frequently taunted. Dogs are considered man’s best friend and cats are one of the sweetest house pets. The main problem with this question is that even those cats and dogs are very much opposite, for example how they play in general, most people have both. I believe, however, that although cats and dogs are both fun, cats are living in a world of dogs. As Helen Keller said, “the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart,” and you can only experience such a feeling with a dog. What is your favorite dog? Dogs vary in many sizes, shapes, and breeds (more commonly known than for cats) and there is a unique and individual breed for everyone. Some dogs are small house dogs that people who are busy or don’t go out much can have like a Chihuahua. In other instances there are some for farmers that herd sheep or cattle, like a Border Collie. A cat’s breed is less known and even so cats often do not portray the same things dogs do. All cats all act the same overall. For one of these things a dog is much more active than a cat. Having an animal that is more active and requires more attention in this area will allow longer lives. In studies those who own a dog and help with their daily exercise live longer, because they are healthier. As a person becomes older they need more exercise to stay healthy, but its harder as age sets in. With a dog one is constantly moving and being interactive. It means more responsibility and an active mind. I do see how many would say that cats are less responsibility, because they bathe themselves, don’t need constant super-vision, there is no need for constant exercise, etc. There is the fact; however, people with dogs and puppies are more likely to be more responsible. There are many sources discussed as to why people become more responsible with a dog. Some suggest that the best way to train a puppy or dog is to
4: create a constant schedule, the active repetitiveness of this causes people to plan more out and keep constant. This also rolls back to the fact that dogs help us become healthier. The reason being that now that the exercise has become a habit not only for human, but for dog, you create a lasting bond you can’t force, a healthier life style, and a constant reminder to stay healthy. Dogs also are used to help needy people with daily tasks to make them more independent. Being able to take care of yourself is a gift that not everyone possesses, even though they want to. Special trained dogs can allow the blind to ‘see’ when a car is coming, a deaf man to hear the doorbell, or a disabled child to pick things up. These simple tasks allow someone to live as normal a life as they can get without having someone constantly looking over them, because people like to have help, but they also like to do things themselves. Dogs are also very intelligent and have a six sense. Have you ever noticed when you are sad, happy, lonely, or maybe not an emotion, but a major event occur and, if you have one, a dog could sense it? It’s almost like their super-spidey sense. This super sense is also put to work, because it often helps reduce the risk of dying from a seizure or a disease the owner had no idea about. The possibilities are endless. In conclusion dogs are far better than cats, because of their uniqueness to their own to the special sense that can save a life in many ways. Many famous people like Helen Keller (a Boston Terrier named Phiz), Elvis Presley (a Chow Chow named Gelto), and even Adam Sandler (a bulldog named Meatball) and had a special relationship with their dogs that is easily seen, for example Adam Sandler’s Meatball was is “best man”. Even dogs alone like, Lassie, can steal your heart away. Dogs are better than cats for many reasons and many more reasons that now words can describe, only the heart of a dog owner can.

9: The Labrador gets its name from Newfoundland. The area was known for its small water dogs. When they were bred with Newfoundlands a breed was created called the St. John’s water dogs, a prototype. They created a dog with stronger hind legs for jumping in the water and better stamina. They actually didn’t get their name until the Duke of Malmesbury admitted that he “called them [his] Labrador dogs.” Due to heavy dog tax logs the breed in Newfoundland died out. Interbreeding with Retrievers eventually paid off as the dog breed survived. In 1917 the first of the breed entered into the American Kennel Club.

14: The hills of Scotland and Ireland are where these K9s are believed to originate. They were used as farm and herding dogs for their intelligence and they also made great family companions, because of their loyalty skills, their reliability skills, and working ability. These dogs started out as smaller dogs between 25 and 40 pounds. The rough coat collie, one of two types of collies, probably was the adaption product of the harsh weather. The collie has doubled in size since it appearance in the England show ring in the 1860s, also the coat became thicker, the head more lean and lighter, the eyes darker, and the colors of its coat became standardized.

(30 mL) honey 1 tsp. (5 mL) cinnamon 1/4 cup (60 mL) finely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional) Cream cheese drizzle (optional): 1/4 cup (60 mL) light cream cheese 1-2 Tbsp. Wait until they have cooled completely before you spread them with cream cheese. Makes about 2 dozen biscuits. Store extra in a tightly covered container of freeze. If they are frosted, store the container in the fridge.
21: I have done research that indicates one thing, a dog is matched by personality. Dogs can do many things, often they are put on dog shows, on farms, in the service, for service, or just in the home. In a dog show there are various breeds, most being pure bred, but those breeds can also be used for other thing. One of which has been used for years farming and herding, Boarder Collie. However that is all well and good, but a dog only works if the owner's way of life and personality. For example an English Pointer is a big puppy s he needs a family that own a home and whose family is more active, but if you have a smaller house, like an apartment, and you have a busy schedule you might want a smaller dog like a Shih Tzus. Of course there are many dogs you can get. Of course your favorite breed might not fit your life style .
