FC: Revenge... Because of LOVE

1: Revenge is can be caused by greed, jealousy, and hate. In this book, revenge was instigated by the main character Heathcliff, because of his love for Catherine Earnshaw. His revenge takes place on Catherine's daughter, Hareton Earnshaw, Hindley, and most importantly Edgar Linton. In the end, his revenge led him to be disliked by many characters, and ended up taking his own life.

2: Most Indecisive: Catherine Earnshaw/ Linton She is the most indecisive because she can not choose between Healthcliff, whom she loves with passion, or Edgar, who she loves for money and looks. She questions what she should do with Nelly, but says "It would degrade me to marry Heathcliff now; so he shall never know how I love him: and that, not because he's handsome, Nelly, but because he's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same; and Linton's is as different as a moonbeam from lightning, or frost from fire." (chapter 9) | Most Dramatic Heathcliff Heathcliff is considered most dramatic because anything that doesn't go his way, he exaggerates to a "psycho" extent. "Kiss me again, but don't let me see your eyes! I forgive what you have done to me. I love my murderer-but yours! How can I?" Heathcliff says this right before Catherine is about to die, when they profess their love for eachother. (Chapter 15)

3: Cutest Couple | Cathy & Hareton | Cathy and Hareton are considered the cutest couple because, after Heathcliff is out of the picture, they can love each other with no one's input. They are not forced to be together. Hareton can become something more than just a servant, once Heathcliff dies. Catherine used to not be attracted to him, and offended him when he was a servant. "I'll see the damned before I be thy servant!, you'll see me what? asked Catherine. Damned-thou saucy witch!, said Hareton. Hareton stated this before they grew fond of eachother. (chapter 18) | Most Deceitful | Catherine Earnshaw | Catherine Earnshaw is the most deceitful character because she says one thing,but does another. She lies to Heathcliff about Isabella, when her and Isabella get in a fight. She also tells Heathcliff she loves him, but marries another man instead. "I wish I could hold you, till we were both dead. I shouldn't care what you suffered. Will you forget me? Will you be happy when I am put into the earth?", Catherine says to Heathcliff, as she is dying. She married Edgar, but wants to know if Heathcliff still loves her, because she loves him. (chapter 15)

4: Most Likely to NOT Succeed | Hindley | Hindley is the most likely not to succeed because after his wife, Francis dies he does nothing with his life. He drinks and does not take care of his son. " "Kiss me, Hareton! Damn thee, kiss me! By god, I'll break the brat's neck. He says this, meaning that he will hurt his own son, if he does not listen to him." This is said right before he is thrown over the banister. (p.87) | Most Jealous | Edgar Linton | Edgar is the most jealous character. He is jealous of Heathcliff and Catherine's relationship. He sees the passion between the two, yet he still loves her. Edgar says to Catherine: "Will you give up Heathcliff hereafter, or will you give up me? It is impossible or you to be my friend and his at the same time; and I absolutely require to know which you choose." (p.142)

5: Most Determined | Isabella Linton/ Heathcliff | Isabella is the most determined because although her brother told her not to, she married Heathcliff. Her brother said ""Well, if I cannot keep Heathcliff for my friend-if Edgar will be mean and jealous, I'll try to break their hearts by breaking my own. That will be a prompt way of finishing all, when I am pushed to extremity!" (Chapter11) | Most Favorable | Heathcliff | Heathcliff is most favored by Mr. Earnshaw. When he brought him home, he chose him over his own son. "Hindley was nought, an would never thrive as where he wondered" said by Mr. Earnshaw. (p.47) This was said because Mr. Earnshaw was positive that Heathcliff would become something great. But, when Mr. Earnshaw died, Hindley sought his revenge, making Heathcliff lower than him.

6: Most Likely to NOT be Understood | Joseph | Joseph is the the most likely to not be understood because his dialect throughout the novel is very hard to understand. He speaks with a lot of slang. Joseph is a very old servant at Wuthering Heights. He is a self-righteous and cursing old man and will not help any of the people at the Heights.'Noa!' said Joseph, giving a thud with his prop on the floor, and assuming an authoritative air. 'Noa! that means naught. Hathecliff maks noa 'count o' t' mother, nor ye norther; but he'll heu' his lad; und I mun tak' him - soa now ye knaw!' (chapter 19) | Best Looking | Cathy & Catherine | Cathy is considered best looking, because she resembles her mom, whom Heathcliff thought was beautiful. Her looks defend her from being struck by Heathcliff. "Catherine's face was just like the landscape--shadows and sunshine flitting over it in rapid succession; but the shadows rested longer, and the sunshine was more transient..." (Chapter 27)

7: Flow Chart | Hindley goes to college This is important because he meets Francis there. If he had not met Frances, then he wouldn't have had a son, Hareton. | Heathcliff comes to live with the Earnshaws This is important, because he is the main character of the book. Him being brought to Wuthering Heights sets the story.

8: Catherine visits Thrushcross grange When she first goes to Thrushcross, she gets bit by their dog because she was spying. She spends several weeks recovering and meets Edgar. | Francis Dies Because of this, Hindley falls into drinking, gambling, and depression. He becomes a terrible father to Hareton, throwing him over the banister.

9: Edgar and Catherine profess their love, resulting in Heathcliff running away Catherine chooses Edgar over Heathcliff. She talked to Nelly about the situation, and Heathcliff overheard her decision. Heathcliff is gone for three years, so Catherine goes ahead and marries Edgar. | Heathcliff comes back for revenge He comes back because he heard the news of Catherine and Edgar's marriage. He plans to seek revenge on both of them. He moves in and becomes the owner of Wuthering Heights.

10: Heathcliff and Catherine Fight The fight starts because of Isabella's attraction to Heathcliff. It ends with Edgar and Heathcliff fighting about Catherine. | Catherine Dies Her death is caused by her treating her body badly. Before she dies she gives birth to a daughter, Cathy.

11: Linton and Cathy get Married She is forced to, by Heathcliff. She moves to Wuthering Heights with Nelly as well. In the same year, Linton dies which leads her to marry Hareton. | Heathcliff and Isabella get Married Heathcliff does this, to inherit some of the Linton's money. He causes Isabella to run away to London. That is where their son, LInton was born. Isabella dies 12 years later, which causes Linton to move to Wuthering Heights

12: Heathcliff Dies He dies one year, after Lockwood arrives. He dies because he is tired of trying to get revenge on everyone. He wants to rest in peace with Catherine. He asks for her grave to be opened facing towards him, and his towards hers. | Cathy and Hareton get married on New Years Day They will be happy together, because the are not forced to be together by anyone, and can love each other since Heathcliff is gone.

13: DEDICATION | NELLY | This mixbook is dedicated to Nelly. She was the narrator of the story, and always there for Catherine. She was a nice character, just a bit biased, but her intentions were good.
