FC: Nicene Creed

Definition of a Creed: A creed is a set of beliefs or principles (especially in relation to what is important in life). The word ‘creed’ comes from the Latin ‘credo’ meaning ‘believe’.

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; Through him all things were made. For us men and our salvation, he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. | Nicene Creed Text

The Nicene Creed was created at the First Ecumenical Council in 325AD in Nicea. It was created to fight Arianism. In 381 AD it was expanded by the Second Ecumenical Council at Constantinople, to include the Holy Spirit in the Creed. The Nicene Creed is the only creed spread by any of the ecumenical councils, making it the universal creed. The Nicene Creed and the New Testament are connected, as the Nicene Creed continues from the New Testament and the New Testament is true to the Nicene Creed; as they were created at the same time. When the council of Nicea created the creed they had to make many important decisions, for example, whether to include a word in the Nicene Creed which does not occur in the New Testament. The creed today is not the original creed created as it has existed in three different forms, the original Nicene, the Niceno-Constantinopolitan, and the Latin Creed. The creed explains the argument concerning the deity of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The creed is the most important and influential creed in the churches history. | Nicene Creed History

Fairy Forgiveness Nicene Creed Based Story | There is a place way above the clouds called Fairy Land. Fairy Land is a place where the fairies live peacefully in a dreamy land. It is here where the creator of Fairy Land, King Henry lives. At first King Henry was the only one who lived here and he soon became lonely all by himself. He decided to make immortal fairies to keep him company.

Years went by and all was well, with hundreds of fairies now living in Fairy Land. One day a fairy named Adam became fed up with being controlled by King Henry and started a fight with him because he wanted to be King. However Adam lost the fight and as punishment King Henry sent Adam to the place which is prohibited for fairies, earth, the land below the clouds for eternity. As well as being sent to earth Adam was also stripped of his wings. However since earth was unliveable, King Henry decided to show kindness to Adam make earth liveable, making oceans, rivers, forests, desserts, grasslands, mountains, etc.; creating animals, plants and he even gave Adam a woman, Tracy, to keep him company as well. As well as watching over him to make sure he doesn’t do anything else to change the natural order.

Hundreds of years later, Adam and Tracy had created their once race; of non-fairies which they decided to call humans who were mortals. The humans lived a simple life compared to the fairies, hunting and gathering their own food, and making their own houses and other objects; and when they died they went to Fairy Land to live as immortal fairies.

One day, one of King Henry’s many sons, John, decided he wanted to go to earth and try and live a simple life as a mortal. Even though King Henry didn’t like the idea of his son living on earth, he let him go because he wanted his son to be happy. Once on earth John worked as a gatherer collecting berries and wood. He became friends with many of the villagers in the town. Years passed and he became the best gather in the village, as he was able to find the rarest berries known to man. Many people from other villages had heard about him as his gift for finding berries, and many people believed that if he touched you, you would become lucky also.

When Adam heard about John’s skills, he didn’t like the idea of King Henry’s son living on earth, where he was banished to. So he decided to go and meet Adam and kill him as punish him for his father’s actions. The only was Adam would be able to kill John, was if he gave him poisonous berries. Adam decided to paint poisonous berries to look like a normal berries.

Adam’s plan worked as he was able to trick John to eat the poisonous berries. John quickly became sick and soon died, and re-joined his father in Fairy Land. Because King Henry was watching over his son, he saw what Adam did. He came very frustrated as had showed kindness to Adam and he was disrespecting him. When King Henry told his son about what really happen at first he was very upset, but he was forgiving and understanding towards Adam. because he knew about his fathers and Adam's history

So he decided to go back to earth just to tell Adam in person that he forgave him. When he got to earth and told him, something changed in Adam which turned him into a better person. He started helping others and spreading the word of forgiveness around all of the villages. The people from the villages across the land were shocked to see Adam being nice and John again, as no one had ever returned form Fairy Land. John decided to help Adam asking people to spread the word of forgiveness, but he as soon as him mission finished, he decided to leave as he wanted to be with his father again. Since John's return and Adam's change, people started meeting and worshiping forgiveness of sins, together at a place which they called church. They developed a scripture, stating their beliefs which they called the Nicene Creed.

Since then on, the humans lived peacefully on earth and after their life on earth they became immortal fairies living in Fairy Land, and they all lived happily ever after. in both world's. | Bibliography: - 11/4/12 - 11/4/12
