S: Adventures with Mui
FC: Adventures with Mui
1: Where has 2011 gone ? It is now mid-June and quite hot in Louisiana... but NOT in San Francisco, California ! From June 15 through June 19, Mui and I explored the up and down streets of this wonderful city by the bay. In a nutshell, these are things I can cross out of my bucketlist: Chinatown neighborhood Golden Gate Park (deYoung Art Museum) North Beach neighborhood (Beach Blanket Babylon in its 37th year) Ferry Building and Farmers' Market Pier 39 and her Sea Lions Alcatraz Night Cruise and Shopping along Market Street
2: Hyatt Regency Five Embarcadero Room 748 was our home from Wednesday till we left Sunday...
4: Lesson One : When travelling through George Bush International Airport (IAH), allow a minimum of one and a half hours between connecting flights. Mui texted me her itinerary once she got her tickets. Several days before leaving, I noticed her layover in Houston was only 45 minutes so I told her she needed her rollerblades. We had the same flight out of Houston, but I got in at 5 pm. Mui found her way to the hotel and arrived at almost 10:00 . Scratch dinner at the Pier... Soon as I got off the plane, I easily ran into a wine store at the concourse called Wine Wisdom. Perfect location. I got some minibottles of Sauvignon and a regular bottle, along with some disposable wine glasses for a dollar each. I didn't really have any reason to go down from the room, but I eventually did and found a quaint Vietnamese pho place about two blocks from the hotel. By the time Mui and I got into bed, it was past 1:00 am, translating to 3 am within my Cajun body clock. The first session was scheduled for 8:00 am. Lesson Two: Read instructions regarding the rooms minibar, because they may be automated. Our minibar, I discovered, was equipped with sensors so even if we did not consume anything, we move it, we're charged.
