S: Caribbean Honeymoon 2012

BC: DEPARTED | CARIBBEAN | 25 JANUARY 2012

FC: HONEYMOON | CARIBBEAN | ARRIVED 15 JANUARY 2012 | Dominican Republic British Virgin Islands St. Maarten Antigua Barbados St. Kitts

The Caribbean is a region consisting of the Caribbean Sea, its islands, and the surrounding coasts. The region is located southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and North America, east of Central America, and to the north of South America. It is comprised of more than 7,000 islands, islets, reefs, and cays. | CARIBBEAN

I can't believe it!! We are finally taking off on our 11 day honeymoon in the Caribbean! We are cruising on the Norwegian Dawn, and will stop in the Dominican Republic, BVI, St. Maarten, Antigua (our favorite!), Barbados, and St. Kitts. We can't wait to relax, snorkel, and swim in the crystal clear water!

DAY 1-2: AT SEA On day one we departed out of Miami, which was experiencing record low temperatures! Day two at sea was also cold, but that didn't stop us from enjoying tropical drinks in the sun!

DAY 3: SAMANA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC The third day of our cruise we enjoyed a beach day and shopping in Samana. There was no port, so we had to take a boat to the beach. The cold front was moving through while we were there, so the waves were strong enough to experience some major wipe outs!

DAY 4: TORTOLA, BVI | We spent the forth day at the beach in Tortola. We were supposed to snorkel at the Virgin Gorda Baths, but because the cold front caught up to us again, it was too dangerous. Our cab ride to the beach took us through the mountains, which made for spectacular views! We can't wait to go back so we can enjoy the BVI in the sun!

DAY 5: PHILLIPSBURG, ST. MAARTEN | The weather finally cooperated for our stop at St. Maarten! We spent the day on the Mirabella where we had a blast snorkeling, going down the boat's slide, jumping off into the swimming pool-esque waters, and hanging out at the beach. We finally got the jerk chicken we were craving and even saw Tiger Woods' yacht!

DAY 6: ANTIGUA Antigua is our favorite place, by far! We spent the day reminiscing in the electric blue waters of Jolly Beach.

 Bridgetown | BARBADOS

DAY 7: BARBADOS We spent the day on a speed boat, snorkeling with sea turtles, swimming, and enjoying the island specialty drink: rum punch. The water was so warm, which was surprising since Barbados is technically part of the Atlantic, not Caribbean.

DAY 8: ST. KITTS | In St. Kitts, we were supposed to go on a scenic rail tour, but the train derailed! Instead, we played with monkeys and had a beach day. On our drive to the beach, we saw the land dividing the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. We even got to see a volcano! The beach was warm and calm, and it was nice to relax at the last stop on our honeymoon.

DAYS 9-10: AT SEA The Norwegian Dawn had a lot of great food and entertainment! We enjoyed dinner at Aqua, Churrascaria, and Teppanyaki. (Never get the special, always get the bread pudding!) Towel animals were always a big hit, especially when they wore my sunglasses! But we spent most of our time looking out at the beautiful ocean, distant islands, and passing ships.

DAY 11: BACK IN MIAMI Farewell Caribbean... until next time....
