1: Egypt January, 2011 | Michael and Wanda celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with two weeks exploring Egypt and Jordan. The trip started in Cairo with visits to the pyramids, the Sphinx and the treasures of the Egyptian Museum. The sleeper train to Aswan was a real adventure! From Aswan we visited the spectacular rock temple of Abu Simbel before setting sail on our "luxury" Nile cruise. During our sail to Luxor we stopped to visit the temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu. Once we "parked" in Luxor we explored the beautiful temples and tombs of the West and East Banks, including a spectacular hot-air balloon trip over the area. Another sleeper train, a day trip to Alexandria and two rest days in the Red Sea resort of Dahab finished up our time in Egypt.
