1: This tells the tale of the travels associated with the CENIDE Nano Summer Program. The program is a seven-week international academic program focusing on the exciting and emerging field of nanotechnology. The summer program is organized by the Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen (CENIDE) at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE). | EUROPE

Located in the Cologne/Bonn Region, about 25 kilometres south of Cologne on the river Rhine in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, it was the capital of West Germany from 1949 to 1990 and the official seat of government of united Germany from 1990 to 1999. | BONN

21: Schloss Burg, located near Solingen, is the largest reconstructed castle in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and a popular tourist attraction. It also contains the Museum of the Bergische Land. Its early history is closely connected to the growth of the Duchy of Berg. In the beginning of the 12th century (after 1133), Count Adolf III of Berg built Schloss Burg on a mountain over the river Wupper. Not until the 15th century, after significant reconstruction, did it receive its current name reflecting its palatial extension. | Schloss Burg | 18/7/2012
