FC: DC TRIP
Arlington cemetery was a great experience for me. We saw Ted Kennedy's grave and the eternal flame. I thought the most interesting one was the changing of the gards. It was amazing to see how many soldiers gave their lives in battle for us,so that we may have freedom. I enjoyed that part of the trip.
The eternal flame was interesting to watch. The flame never goes out because of the natural gas that it runs on. There was a rope that was around the grave sight were the eternal flame was. It was on a grave site of one of the Kennedys. This was a very nice experience.
The capital building was fun. We saw a lot of sculptures there. There was a really good cafeteria. I liked the different pieces of art work in the top of the capital building. I liked the the part when we had to go through security.
The reflecting pool was cool. it would be more enjoyable when it is not raining. you can see a clear reflection of the monument when the water is still. you can see the monument clearly with the 50 flags around it from almost every where in washington. i enjoyed the view.
The Lincoln monument was very memorable. i loved the walls that had the Gettysberg Adress on them. There were plenty of steps. The statue was wonderful. I enjoyed myself
The white house was cool. it is a beautiful house. It is the home of Barak Obama. It is heavily protected. I would like to visit there one day.
GENERAL LEES MEMORIAL. it was a very beautiful piece. it was well designed. Arlington cemetery has a great view of it. I thought it was a cool sight to see. we didnt walk that close to it.
The changing of the gard was exciting. It was very intresting to watch. They are protecting the tomb of the unknown soldier. They are very sharp with there movements. They are serious all the time.
