S: My Conquests...

FC: my travels and conquests -Alexander the Great (aka Alexander the Invincible)

early beginnings | My father, Phillip II, kick started the sequence of events that led to my travels by having me tutored by Aristotle from the age of 7. This made me realize that there's more out there than just my little city of Macedon, and led to me wanting to travel more. Everything was going great, especially when I became ruler of Greece and was able to carry out my plan.

I started my travels here, in Greece. After my father was killed, I took over and was soon leading the most powerful army in the history of the world.

I soon grew bored of the sense of routine only controlling Greece brought, and I set my sights on the most powerful empire of this time. Persia.

As expected, the Persians fell to my unbeatable army. They could have at least made it difficult for us, I mean, come on. Anyway, after they were conquered, I had all of their best scholars come and teach me about their culture. I also married a couple girls, but they're not important. I learned so much! I can't wait to move on and learn more about the pitiful lands I conquer! | Persia

Egypt really isn't even worth mentioning, they were less of a challenge than Persia, if that's even possible!

I was really on a roll at this point, what with all the empires I had conquered. There was no reason to stop at this point, so I went onto India. It was a challenge to get in, but after we found the Khyber Pass, it wasn't so difficult. That was before we saw the things.

They were monstrous animals, things not I nor a member of my army had ever seen in our lives! They had long tubes on their face and were covered as if by leather, with the largest ears and feet I had seen on a living thing. The Indians rode them like horses. We were no match for these beasts, and we were defeated for the first time at that battle in India.

I gave up on India and left them to their business. I began to make preparations to seize China. Unfortunately, I fell very sick while we were camped. It was terrible. I stayed in my room, thinking a lot about my life.

All this free time I had from being sick allowed me to reflect about my accomplishments, motives, and my search for truth. Isn't that why I had done all this, the conquering and whatnot I mean, wasn't it all a search to make my part of the world right? To find truth and peace?

I believe everyone, aware or not, tries to find truth of the world and themselves by their actions. My way of doing that was conquering and spreading and infusing different cultures. These last few days I have before I die are going to be spent thinking about the truth I have brought the world, and whether that was actually a good thing or not. People died because of my actions. Is that really worth the benefits? | sources: google.com/images, and Mr Snow's class
