S: Iron Horse Chronicles - Volume No. 3
BC: End Volume No. 3 | This volume of "The Iron Horse Chronicles" details our travels from late 2009 through the end of 2011. It adds another 5 states plus the District of Columbia and it summarizes all riding since 2003.
FC: Volume No. 1 | Iron Horse Chronicles | Volume No. 3
1: The objective of these photo volumes is to permanently document motorcycle travel in all 48 contiguous United States of America and the 10 Canadian Provinces. In addition they will capture various "iconic" points of interest visited or memorable motorcycle events that occurred along the way. Volume No. 3 covers from August 2009 through to the end of 2011.
2: Volume No. 3 opens in August of 2009 with the trip to Sturgis. No additional states were "claimed" as they were all just covered in July during the Utah trip. This was however a remarkable trip and so much so that it has it's own edition of "The Iron Horse Chronicles". | We trailered 3294 miles and rode 1180 miles
3: These are the eight that joined the Sturgis adventure.
4: October 2009 | Destination: One of the most well known biker roads in America! | 318 curves and an elevation change of 1800 feet all in eleven miles. Route 129 on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina

8: Washington D.C. May '10 | Rolling Thunder XXIII May 30, 2010 | Started in 1987 to bring 2500 bikes to the Nation's Capital to commemorate Vietnam POW/MIA this event has grown to involve tens of thousands of bikers. Thousands stage up to ride in the parade and thousands line up to watch. I subbed for Doc on Chicken Bob's 2010 ride. | ...documented here to "claim" the District of Columbia.
10: Running the "Mighty Mac"! The only major adventure for 2010 was a circumnavigation of Lake Huron to cross the Straights of Mackinac and "claim" Michigan. 1850 miles in 5 days | Completed in 1957 the Mackinac Bridge is the longest suspension bridge between two anchorages in the Western Hemisphere. The Straits of Mackinac are 5 miles wide at their narrowest point.

20: Eleven started and eleven finished incident free. We ran it first Downhill east to west. We paused and then ran it Uphill in reverse. Uphill is easier. The biggest challenge on The Dragon is the traffic - beware! | We stayed in Maggie Valley NC
21: Running home on The Blue Ridge! We were on the southern most portion which is also the highest portion. | Dave A and his Obama Icon...showing him the real America.

23: Kyle Petty Charity Ride! The last major run of 2011 was four guys running 1325 miles in 3 days to attend Gene Martin's favorite charity. | Ride to Victory IX October 2011 | Kyle's son, lost in a NASCAR crash, had a favorite sick kids camp. This is to raise funds in his memory.
24: On The Blue Ridge...again! This charity run was 140 miles from Charlotte NC to Asheville NC. We stayed at Little Switzerland on the Blue Ridge and rode the Blue Ridge to I77 and then I81 home | 77 | ...many learnings about the Blue Ridge north of Asheville. 26: We covered this state during our first run to Myrtle Beech Bike Week. | In order to fully document the geography covered since 2003 included here are three additional states that were covered but where we did not get photo documentation. These will be photo documented in the future. | South Carolina Oct. '08 | Maryland Feb. '09 | Delaware Summer '07 | We traveled by bikes to see George and Carolyn back in '07 | We have traveled into and across Maryland multiple times. We just need to stop one trip and get a picture. | For the record The Deuce left the stable August 24, 2011 in exchange for a collectible 2002 Eldorado Cadillac!
27: Accomplishment vs Goal. These photo journals document travel in 33 of the 48 States plus the District of Columbia. We have also claimed four Canadian Provinces. | From this start in 2003 we have added another 7 Harleys and documented over 100,000 HOG miles. Bev has 31,944 miles. Barry has 75,726 miles
