1: Oasis Overlanding | Peru 2011

2: Peru This was a 21 day trip, with 19 days with Oaisis Overlanding and 2 days at a Surf Bed and Breakfast. I started in Lima and ended in Lima. I Traveled with: Guide: Ricardo Guevara, David Cox, Sneha, Sarah Langridge, Chloe Hole, Sophie Woodcock, Jo Stafford, Joyce La Vertue, Hema Kasi-Patel, Rebecca Hornbogen, Zahra ,Shreya Karia.

3: Lima, Peru

7: Water Park, Lima

8: Pisco, Peru Ballestas Islands, Peru

13: Pisco! Tacama winery, Peru

14: Ica Desert and Huacachina Oasis, Peru

17: After a day of quading and sand boarding we find a spot in the desert and drink the night away. Some of us doesn't even make it to our sleeping bag before passin out. And I manage to get into my custume and dance the Thriller

19: The Nazca Lines | I'm not sure if it was from the booze the night before, but this was the most nauseating flight I've ever been in. It was a struggle just trying to look out the window for the lines.

20: Mummification was done well before the Spanish landed in S.A. | After they were mummified in the desert, they were placed in small huts. | Chauchilla Cemetery, Peru

22: Arequipa, Peru

24: Colca Canyon Continuing as always with our theme of adventure travel, we visit the Colca Canyon, which at 900m is not only one of the deepest in the world but also the home of the majestic Condors. Here we view the condors circling lazily in the thermals rising from the canyon floor

28: On our spiritual hike our guide taught us some rituals locals would perform to pay their respects to their ancestors

29: We were also taught how to spiritually intake cocoa leaves. First you take three leaves and fan them out. Face a god like the mountain or sun, place the leave on your forehead and fan it down three times then place it in your mouth and chew. Once you are done all the leaves the leaves must be buried.

36: Day 1: Inca Trail

40: Wayllabamba, 2980 m | Day 2 8 hours of uphill hiking, mostly stairs. We start early in the moring, 8am and end at our camp around 4

41: ~3500m

43: Today we reach the highest point of our 4 day hike atop the Dead womans pass Abra Warmiwanuska, at 4201m. Our fist leg of the hike up the dead womans pass takes us half way up a steep incline. It takes us between 30 minutes to 90 minutes to climb. Oh we all climbed on our own. We have lunch at our first stop before make it up to the dead womans pass which is a brutal step climb with a mixture of tall stairs and flat paths. This takes us 45 to 120 minutes to finish. I was the fastest by the way on both. After resting we head down for 2 hours towards a camp.

50: Day 3 | This was a slow day with both inclining and declining trails

56: Day 4 | 3:00 am

58: At 3 am we wake up and have breakfast then pack our stuff for our last leg of the hike. It's been pouring since 2 am & at 5:30 the rain stops while we are at passport control. We arrived at the sun dial of Machupicchu at 7:00 am after 2 hours of hiking. We are given a short tour of the site and by 10 a few of us head up Waynapicchu where it pours again upon arriving to the summit. by 2 we take the bus back to the town ready for our train back to Cusco.

63: Mountain Biking with some Danish Girls. The day after the Inca Trail.

72: Floating Island | Lake Titicaca

77: On an island in Lake Titicaca we were adopted by a family who housed us, fed us and brought us do a dance. Our father was Fuccundo Pacomfia and mother Julia Calsin.
