3: On our way to Singapore to see Craig, Amy and Penelope!

6: First activity in Singapore? A bus tour of the city.
8: Marina Bay Sands
9: Marina Bay is a hotel, casino and mall. While we were there we checked out the Helix Bridge and the Float at Marina Bay, a floating stadium. Then we ate yummy dumplings at Din Tai Fung!
10: A visit to the Singapore Botanic Gardens. A favorite moment of our visit was feeding the fish and turtles.
12: Dinner at a hawker center. A hawker center is like a food court with MANY food choices. Our favorite dish was the black carrot cake! | Newton Food Center
13: Date night at the Long Bar! The Singapore Sling was created at this landmark establishment. | The Raffles Hotel
14: We spent a few fun hours at the Science Centre Singapore.
16: We spent a wonderful day at the Singapore Zoo! The morning began with a wildlife encounter... Breakfast with the Orangutans.
26: Universal Studios Singapore! Yes, the Barretts went to Universal.
31: Two fun finds! David Lee Roth's pants and Garrett's Popcorn.
32: Gardens by the Bay
33: Gardens by the Bay is a waterfront park with beautiful vertical gardens known as the "super trees." While at the Gardens we took a tram tour and explored the super tree skywalk.

39: The adventure continues in Siem Reap, Cambodia!
40: We stayed at the Journeys Within Hotel in Cambodia. It was a wonderful boutique hotel on Korea-Cambodia Friendship Road!
42: Khmer Kitchen
43: Our first night in Cambodia was spent having dinner at the Khmer Kitchen. We took a tuk-tuk from our hotel to the restaurant.
44: During our time in Siem Reap, we hired a wonderful tour guide named Sina. With Sina we were able to explore three different temple ruins of Angkor. On our way to our first temple we stopped at Angkor Thom South Gate.

64: In Cambodia we had a chance to visit the Tonle Sap River Village. This floating community of mostly Vietnamese immigrants includes homes, schools and businesses. The village migrates throughout the year following the seasons of the river.

71: Hello Bali! First stop? Seminyak!

78: Tanah Lot Temple | This Hindu Temple is a popular tourist attraction in Bali.
82: On our way back to the hotel from Tanah Lot we stopped at a roadside nursery. It has AMAZING stone statues and beautiful gardens.
84: We had a wonderful dinner on the beach in Jimbaran. After selecting our fish dinner fresh from the tank, we watched the sunset and enjoyed some traditional Balinese dancing.
86: After Craig, Amy, Penny and Theo headed back to Singapore, we departed Seminyak for Ubud to celebrate our anniversary. Along the way we stopped at several Balinese villages each known for a different artistry. Our stops included at a Batik store, a silver factory, an art gallery, and a woodcarving gallery.
88: Lunch at a restaurant on a rice paddy!
90: Arrival at Chapung Se Bali, our villa resort.
98: Spending time in Ubud including lunch at the Laughing Buddha and a walk through the Monkey Forest.

105: AUSTRALIA! | A solo trip to the Land Down Under.
106: After Andy and Theo left Singapore for home, I boarded a plane for Perth, Australia. This was my first stop in a 5 day trek across the continent. After two days in Perth and nearby Fremantle, I headed southeast to Port Lincoln, home of great white shark cave diving. I spent two days on a boat in the Southern Ocean, but alas never saw one of the magnificent creatures. My travels continued to Melbourne for a brief few hours before departing for the states.

110: Calypso Star Charters - we headed to the Neptune Islands to look for sharks.
113: Cheers to a fun few days on the water even though there were no sharks!

115: Fiji | On my way home from Australia I got to spend 1 day in Fiji!
116: I spent my time in Fiji aboard the Seaspray. My day cruise through the Mamanucas islands included visiting several different island locations. My favorites were Monuriki where Castaway was filmed, and Yanuya where I got to see a traditional Fijian village.
