The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. St. Augustine
Well this trip was supposed to be our Mission trip with the Youth Group but fog at the airport on Christmas Day prevented our flight from going and we couldn't rebook for everyone to go. Mike and I got to travel 2 days later (first class) so we could at least bring all the donations. | It was great to spend some time with Tim, Michelle and the kids. DIned outside on the porch the first night.
We brought lots of good treats from Canada including McDonald's hamburgers, Pictou County Pizza some homemade goodies form Tim's Mom and TimBits
Some guy on the beach climbed up the palm tree and picked a coconut and then offered us a taste.
We brought two suitcases full of donations with us for the orphanage that Michelle and the kids had adopted. As well we went to the grocery store before going there to stock their fridge and pantry
The next day we loaded all the kids from the orphanage onto a bus and took them for a day at the beach. Many had never been to the beach before even living on a tropical island
Dillon was a new resident with many special needs | Michelle playing in the sand | Mike with Dillon | The kids loved to give hugs and called me Aunti
Brenda made some Batik dresses for the girls, that they are modeling here | Our day at the beach included supper of pizza and Churches chicken
Trip into the rain forest | Cocoa bean pod
 OUR OWN
Completely normal to be driving and come across a cow in the road or a few goats. Lots of chickens (Yardies) wandering around as well. | Michelle and Tim got a babysitter for the evening and we got to have a lovely evening out for Chinese food to celebrate the New Year
Took a walk through a mangrove. Interesting adventure
Took a glass bottom boat tour
Enjoyed a lovely BBQ at Englishman's Bay - one of the top beaches in the Caribbean
Took a drive up to the other end of the island to Charlotte - that was an adventure! Went drift snorkeling there which was really cool. Felt like I was in the movie Nemo.
Brain Coral - some of the largest in the world are in these waters | Don't exert yourself too much Mike - you are on vacation!
