BC: Pam Vacco and I embarked on this trip from August 26th - September 3rd. Great times with a great friend.


1: SOUTH DAKOTA | FIRST STOP: The Corn Palace, Mitchell, SD

3: But the BBQ was FABULOUS! | Junk Basket is right NOT GOOD! | Some of the vittles Pam and I shared at the Corn Festival.. | At the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD, they were having their annual Corn Festival

4: The Badlands National Park. an amazing, desolate yet beautiful place.

6: Some of the interesting characters we met along the way

7: These buffalo sculptures were all over. I took lots of pics for my niece, Nicole.

9: Mount Rushmore - a national treasure

11: The Crazy Horse Memorial - another national treasure.. taking longer to complete because it is completely funded by the people.. no money from the government.

12: Custer State Park, SD

13: Wyoming | Devils Tower, WY | The field by Devil's Tower was full of prairie dogs - so cute

15: Buffalo Bill Dam - last stop before Yellowstone National Park

16: We met Pearl Harbor Survivor, D.E. Walling at one of our stops. It was a privilege to speak with him and meet his lady friend and her two puppies.

17: BEAUTY | Lake Yellowstone

18: West Thumb Geyser Basin - love the colors!

19: I loved all the geo-thermal features at the park and took tons of pictures. These are all at the West Thumb Geyser Basin. Pam wasn't quite as enamored with them. LOL

20: Grand Prismatic Spring

22: The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone - Upper and Lower Falls.

24: Old Faithful Geyser

25: We stayed in a cute little cabin at the Old Faithful Lodge. The main lodge was so beautiful, we went over and had a nice dinner there and enjoyed the enormous lobby while we waited.

27: So many beautiful waterfalls at Yellowstone. These are the Gibbon Falls and Tower Falls .

29: Some of the wildlife we saw along the way... pronghorn antelope, a moose and a buffalo walking past us on the road.
