FC: MAUI MEMORIES Nov/2012
Maui Memories to last a lifetime. This wonderful vacation began on November 24, 2012
So the Adventure Begins We arrived on the evening of 24th of November and after having dinner Sheraton we retired for the evening excited about the days to come and adventures to be experienced. Our Hotel was the Westin in Kaanapali and our room face the mountains and gorgeous sunrises. | Every morning we woke to sound of "Francolin" signing birds. The loud signing started just before sunrise and lasted about one hour. We did not mind since their melody signaled my daily trip to the Starbuck for Lattes, bananas and yogurt.
Virtually every day began with a run along the ocean and the many golf courses that that border the Kaanapali Strip
The Hotel is beautiful and very lush with tropical gardens and swimming pools abound. The resident flamingos, koi fish and black swan "Normand" all co-exist in perfect harmony
We eased into our holiday on Sunday the 25th of November. We dropped the top on the mustang and explored the island | Heather really loves that hat.
That evening we enjoyed a delicious but loud meal at Sansei Sushi bar in Kapalua
On November 26th, we ventured out and headed to Wailea were we found rocky beaches perfect for snorkeling. | We drove to the end of the road until we could go no further.
That evening we went to dinner at the Sea House Restaurant | We We enjoyed a wonderful meal while watching the sun melt into the ocean.
November 27th | We set out very early that morning to visit the Iao Needle in Wailuku. We found a nice beach and watched surfers. Heather was mischievous as ever with those coconuts
One of our favorite places to dine was Kimo's in Lahaina. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and live music
November 28 will forever be a day to remember. Love was in the air
We arrived at the Heliport early the morning for thrilling flight of the entire island | Our Pilot Tim was more than just a pilot as he proceeded to give us a full history lesson of Maui.
The important question was to be asked during the Helicopter ride, however we weren't allowed to bring anything on board so Plan B came into play, and so we went to Mama's Fish House in Paia.
Sitting on a bench overlooking the ocean, an important question was asked. She said yes!
On the evening of that faithful day, we decided to opt for a lighter meal in the evening as we set our sight on Honu Restaurant in Lahaina | Heather adorned a Lei to compliment her new dress. She was stunning as she always is.
November 29th was a quiet day for us. We got up a little later that morning and did not take our usual run. Instead we had a late breakfast and decided to go shopping for souvenirs.
After spending a quite day shopping and laying by the pool, our dinner plans brought us to Merriman's Restaurant in Kapalua. We watched the sun go down and enjoyed delicious seafood. Heather is always so stunningly beautiful
On November 30th the weather was perfect and it was hot. Our helicopter pilot Tim had peaked our interest to see a place called Point Jaws. This place is an amazing surfers paradise or hell depending on how you see it. Very brave surfers tackle huge waves and we witness many of them bearing brunt of these huge waves.
Our dinner reservations for that evening was at Duke"s and Heather wore her deliciously sexy white dress she had previously purchased in Montreal
Our last full day was spent near the pool and Heather enjoyed several trips down the water slide. It was quite comical to see her walk up the steps and waving as she grinned from ear to ear. Truly amazing Vacation
An incredible vacation that brought to smiles and tears of joy. This is but the beginning of a much longer journey and many, many more vacations
