FC: Puerto Rico January 24-30, 2010 | Our Honeymoon

 V&M's Caribbean Escape | Rincon

Condado Plaza | We loved waking up to the sound of the ocean.

Vernon worked tirelessly to find a suitable hotel for us. Great choice! | We picked Puerto Rico initially because we wanted a destination wedding. When that didn't work out we decided to have our honeymoon there because we had fallen in love with the island... | Bienvenido!

Though it rained that first day we still enjoyed the view as we trekked to Dunkin' Donuts!! | El Senor | ~

What a great idea! Our "Thank You" sign was truly a work of art. We are so grateful to all of our friends for their generous gifts.

An unforgettable tour thanks to Joey, our guide. | We learned a lot about PR's history on the drive there, like rum isn't the main export, pharmaceuticals are. Joey answered all our questions. He took us to the visitor center, the observation tower, then dropped us off to see La Mina...

 La Mina Falls

At the rain forest we had authentic Puerto Rican cuisine - pork chops, rice, beans, and to wash it all down... pina colada! YUM YUM, MUY BUENO!! | ~

And we hiked through the rain forest, enjoying its various sights and sounds especially that of the island's mascot... COQUI!!! COQUI!!! | Taking a splash in the pool of La Mina Falls. Brrr... I can still feel the goose bumps... and the rocks.

 Puerto | Road

 Rico | Trip

At the south side of the island we came across the town of Ponce. We took a bus tour through the city learning about it's history. The Old Fire Station, Plaza, Cathedral, Bridge of Lions and Cemetery were some notable stops.

We toured a Japanese Garden, a Cemetery, a Huge Cross, and Castillo Serralles.

A Day at the Beach | If it wasn't for the wind and being pelleted by sand, we would have stayed much longer. Remember the $2.50 sandwich? It was the yummiest thing ever.

 V&M in Isla Verde

Moonlight Kayaking | Here we drove to Fajardo on the east side of the island. We were sooo excited about this trip. Moon light romance, playing in the bioluminecent bay, dodging trees as we stroked.... "No, your other left!" Ah, the sweet memories.

Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories. CathyAllen | we made it

We caught a bus from the hotel with eager anticipation for the historic city. We indulged in the attractions, the diverse cultures, the wonderful food, the beautiful scenery, explored the alleyways and.... mucho mas! AY CARAMBA!

Castillo San Cristobal | Forts defended this city long ago...

This is where we wanted our destination wedding... EL CONVENTO!! | But after looking around and seeing the setup we were really happy we we did it at the Chart House in NJ.

Family restaurant in the heart of Old San Juan | good eats | Raices

SPONTANEOUS TRIP TO CATANO | We caught a ferry from San Juan's pier to the other side of the bay and explored... then ran for our lives to catch the last ferry back. We didn't make it to the Rum Factory. | ~

 Passion

time of my life, love my wife | My Boo for life :-) | And on to Happily Ever After | The End
