30: Groom's Story Sarah and I first met on a hot August day. It was band camp. She was the drum major and I was a lowly horn player. It was there that she first noticed me. I, of course, noticed her, she stood in front of the band everyday. Although we met before school had even started, it would be another month before we really met. Sarah had a group of friends who would always hang out in the same spot, everyday, before classes started. It wasn't until after I was introduced to this group that we started to get to know each other. It started small, with everyone going to someone's house to hang out, and over a couple of months my attraction to Sarah grew. She was smart, funny, beautiful and she had power. As a drum major, she had seniority over nearly 300 people! How attractive is that? The band was traveling to London for the annual London New Year's Day parade and we were both in it. On New Year's Eve, I asked her if she would be my girlfriend and she said no. It wasn't until the next day that she asked me! I of course said yes! Five and one fourth years later I asked her another question. Would she marry me? This time she said yes :D

32: Brids | Bride's Story Matthew and I met in band my Junior year of high school. The first memory I have of him was from band camp. A theme was chosen each day and Matt caught my eye on "80's Day." He wore tight yellow polyester pants, a green and white floral shirt and completed the look with aviator sunglasses. I thought he was such a stud! But I had no clue who he was so I didn't think much of it. A few weeks later, I was hanging out in our usual hallway spot with members from the drumline when they introduced me to a younger member of the band and guess who was standing next to him? Matt! I was secretly very excited that I finally knew who this cute Sophomore was. The months following that I strategically sat near him on buses to band competitions and flirted with him at football games. He must have gotten the hint that I liked him because one day he asked me to eat dinner with him at Popeye's. I remember talking constantly while he listened and we shared a lot of laughs.Just before we left, he asked me it I would be his girlfriend and I said no! (gasp!! I know, stupid, huh?) I told him I wanted to get to know him better before we rushed into things and assured him that I liked him but just needed more time. A few weeks later, I was on AIM (online chat before Facebook existed) talking to Matt and he asked me if I would be his girlfriend again! I was appalled that he would ask online in such an impersonal way, so I said no again...even though I really liked him. I later found out his friends were pressuring him to ask me on AIM, but I still thought it was lame.
33: Matt and I continued to flirt for the next month, but he didn't ask me out like I thought he would. I thought he didn't like me anymore and was tired of my apparent games. The time for choosing bus partners for our band's trip to London came and I thought he might want to be mine, but he chose someone else. So I also chose someone else and we went on separate buses and planes to London. The London trip was so much fun and also sooo busy. Time flew by and before I knew it, it was the New Year's Eve dance at the hotel. I hadn't seen Matt very much in London until that night. Suddenly he was everywhere! I thought I lost my room key on the dance floor and was telling someone about it near the punch bowl. Matt walked up and said' "This room key?" as he pulled it out of his pocket. As grateful as I was for him finding my key, it seemed like all night when I was dancing with someone, Matt kept cutting in. I knew his friends were encouraging him to do this and I was extremely annoyed. So when Matt asked me to be his girlfriend for the third time on that dance floor, I again said no. All that night and the next day I regretted this and thought that Matt would surely never ask me out for a fourth time. So the next day (January 1st, 2006) I hung out with Matt as much as I could. Around 10 p.m. when he was walking me back to my hotel room, I decided to ask him if I could be his girlfriend. He said yes and has been stuck with me ever since! :)
