TO: Miriam LOVE: The ladies of the Bridal Party
Miriam, we met in Bezalel in 6th grade, From then through MAYHS a great friendship was made, From seeing Justin Timberlake in concert, To all the Starbucks dates that included dessert! Abba and I were buddies at the gym, And we always saw free movies, and we didn't even sneak in! You made my day so special and fly, I cant wait to do the same for You and Shai! | When I first heard about Miriam and Shai, my phone had been dead and after I plugged it in I had a bunch of text messages from Miriam and Shai that they were engaged, it was such exciting happy news to find out!
We met back in high school, Get these ugly express shirts off was my rule, We have been through a lot, like car crashes and ugly boyfriends, why were they never hot? A better friend could not be found, You made sure to come to my bridal shower on a greyhound, I wish I were with you on this special day, But i can't wait to see you as a bride and go cray cray | "us going cray cray in high school, preparing for your wedding" | When Miriam told me about Shai, it feels like forever ago. I remember you made me go on your Facebook to look at a picture of him. I remember when you guys started dating you were so head over heels and every time I spoke to you, you were together. I think we all knew from the start that this was not a fling but you were really serious about Shai You guys make a gorgeous and awesome couple... can't wait to see what's in store for you guys!
Miriam oh Miriam, what can I say? You're going to look so beautiful on your wedding day You're a gem in this world, and I love you so your love keeps my brother happy, fo sho I can't wait to cook, clean and eat with you you're hysterical, sweet, loving and a sephardic Jew we welcome you in with arms that are wide Savta loves you the most, that she can't hide but seriously though, i can't wait to be your little sis and have you around, for life thats my wish. | I am pretty sure I met Miriam before her and Shai were even dating, I think they just told us that at the time to make things less complicated. That is, however, completely beside the point. I remember when Shai was first telling me how he wanted to propose to Miriam. He said, "She loves it when I hurt myself so I plan on filling up a plastic bag of chocolate pudding, taking her to the park, pretending to fall down a hill so that the pudding explodes and it looks as if I pooped myself. She will be laughing so hard, then i'll pull out the ring and ask her to marry me." I thought this was a brilliant idea, my sister and mother did not. Shai obviously did not go through with the pooping plan, but went with a more romantic route. Watching the video of him proposing and the amount of happiness that radiated between the two of them still makes me tear up. They are truly perfect for each other. They love, respect and appreciate each other, and I know they will continue to do so for the rest of their lives.
When I was just a twinkle in his eye, Dad didn't know if i'd be a girl or a guy, Either way though i'd be an "M," a memory to his father's shem. Of course, my last name would start with "P," and what a joy the initials M.P. would be! Through the years, these letters brought me much luck. Whether it was finding success or a hot guy to F...lirt with. Eventually for a husband, one of the hotties I did pick, and suddenly his last name beginning with a "W" did stick. Dad was sad. Though he liked my hubby-to-be, I would no longer be M.P... But then Miriam said yes to Zuss! She'd soon be one of us. A ray of sunshine through the branches of our family tree, As we realized she'd be the next M.P! The initials are strong, they carry a good omen And I am proud to pass them along to such a worthy woman. | When Ellie and I first met Miriam, we instantly fell in love! I mean how could you not? She immediately felt like family, and though our brother is one amazing guy, she was definitely his true match. I remember after she left, I was sharing how much I liked her and I said "I can't wait to make holidays with her one day." This was way before they were engaged, but I was hoping then then, that I would some day call Miriam my sissy-head-in-law!
Heres to the Roomie, You drove in from Jersey, I flew in from Turkey, That's how we met on the first day of university! The minute you saw me, you screamed my name and hugged me we started out as two roommates, But quickly turned into soul mates. Them came along Shai with his cute little smile, Filling your life with joy and laughter I love you and of course Shai too, And just wish you both a happily ever after PS. Special thanks to Brandeis: Office of Reslife, pretty sure we wouldn't have met otherwise!! | The first time I heard about Shai, the conversation was something like this: Miriam: "OMG Polin- do you know Shai? Polin: Shai? What's his last name? Miriam: Posner Polin: Nope, never heard of him. Miriam: He's just sooo cute! You just want to squeeze his face! Polin: Show me on facebook Miriam grabs her laptop ... Polin: Aww he does look really cute! Miriam: Uhhh Polin, he's so cute- I want him ... Little did I know that he would be your facebook friend in a few days, your boyfriend in a few weeks and your HUSBAND in a few years!
The first time Miriam told me she got engaged she sounded like she was glowing as she spoke. She continuously shrieked with excitement and I quickly joined her | We were sophomores, it was chilly, off to Mantra, acting silly Techno tunes and all night drinking I lost my clutch, what was I thinking? But Miriam always saves the day and makes sure every thing's okay She hit the ground and on all fours She weaved her way across the floor And just when I thought she had done too much She jumped to her feet with my rescued clutch
All of my life I have wanted an older sis, Little did I know Oren Saada would give me this, Someone who understands me, a genuine friend, To explain all of the things that I do not comprehend. Miriam, you are like an older sister to me, You give the best advice and you always help me see, In my times of blindness, you provide clarity and light, And though I hate to say this—you’re usually right. You are an amazing person, you are smart and you are driven, Happy and easy going, yet you know little is given, Shai is a lucky man to have you in his life, No matter what life brings you, you will be a wonderful wife. It brings me so much joy to see you two together, I know that your love is true and will last forever, Despite the ups and downs that a NYC apartment may bring, I do not need to list them, (like a mouse trap and its spring) You and Shai together really are a perfect pair, Your presence is a delight-- such a perfect match is rare.
Miriam Barbara Nachum you are the best We share something in common, and that is the size of our chest. You are very dear to me and we’ve been through a lot together Like sharing our love of tanning, and super sunny weather During our time in High School, you were basically my sister Teaching me wise ways to catch myself a good looking mister I am so happy for you and your wedding plan And the fact that Shai is going to be your man We’ll always be there for each other when all is said and done And I’m counting down the days to your wedding, because it is going to be SO much fun!

Recipes! | JAMBALAYA from Mara Really good when you a little bit of a few different kinds of meats left over. (Disclaimer: I don’t ever measure when I cook, I just do things by eye/to taste) Ingredients: 2-3 different types of meat (I normally use combination of chix, steak, and hotdogs/sausage) Red onion Celery Red pepper (you can use green I just like red better) 1 can stewed tomatoes Instant brown rice Chicken stock Worcestershire sauce Frank’s hot sauce Basil Garlic powder Onion powder Salt Pepper Directions: Chop onion, celery, and pepper and sauté in large skillet or dutch oven until just a little soft on medium heat. While you are doing that prepare instant brown rice per the instructions on the package, but use chicken stock or add chicken stock powder to water to cook the rice in, so it absorbs (I like the Osem chicken powder). Let rice sit and absorb. Add the can of stewed tomatoes with broth to the veggies in the skillet (there should be a good amount of liquid, if doesn’t look like quite enough you can add some tomato juice or V8. Add in generous amounts of basil and Worcestershire, a little hot sauce and garlic, onion, salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a slow boil over medium heat meanwhile chop meat into bite size pieces. Once the liquid & veggies are on a slow boil add in meat. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until meat is cooked through (if you are using left-overs, just until it heats up). Turn off heat and mix in rice. Let sit for 3-5 minutes until rice absorbs some of the juice all the flavors are well mixed. Serve with crusty bread and red wine.
Recipes! | BANANA BREAD from Mara Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 egg 3 bananas 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup cooking oil 1/2 cup chopped walnuts Directions: 1. Grease the bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of an 8x4x2-inch loaf pan (used margarine to grease instead of cooking spray – it will come out of the pan easier); set aside. In a medium mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Make a well (like a hole) in the center of the dry mixture and set aside. 2. In another bowl combine egg, bananas, sugar, and cooking oil. Add egg mixture all at once to dry mixture. Stir just until moistened (batter should be lumpy). Fold in nuts if desired. 3. Spoon batter into the well greased pan. Sprinkle with some cinnamon sugar (like you would use for cinnamon toast). Bake in a 350 degree oven 50-55 minutes or till a wooden toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove loaf from pan and cool on rack.
