BC: HAPPILY Ever AFTER...
FC: OUR WEDDING | W
 THE MARRIAGE OF | LEXI | & | ERIK | 7.18.08
At the tip of the Balboa Peninsula lies a small grassy area that has a beautiful view of the water and the shore on the other side. A little bit further and you're on the sand leading to a rock jetty, a spot that is famous for body surfing. This place has special significance to Lexi and I. Shortly before we started dating, we randomly decided to park at the Balboa pier and begin walking. Eventually we reached the end and stopped to enjoy the scenery. It was during our walk back to the car that I first put my arm around her.
 Engaged 2/29/08
A few days later, we found ourselves at Balboa Peninsula Point again, at a tree by the water. It was quite obvious that we liked each other, and when the tension became unbearable, I kissed her. It was probably the most romantic first kiss ever.
On leap day 2008, we parked at Balboa Pier and once again walked all the way to our spot at the end of the peninsula. his time I had a ring in my pocket. She knew it was coming. We had been talking about it, and the day beforeI had asked her father if I could marry her. When we reached the point, we walked out onto the sand and laid a blanket down in front of a lifeguard tower, the same blanked we had with us the first time. We were obliged to leave after a helicopter flew by with a search light. It was after hours. We returned to the grassy area and sat there remembering the past, and talking about the future. When I was done stalling I asked her if it was real yet. She said that one thing was lacking. With the ring concealed in my hand, I kissed her and slipped the ring on her finger. She looked at it with joy in her face and we embraced. During our walk back to the car, I asked her: "So, will you marry me?"
 O.C . Bridal Shower
Since I have friends in Northern and Southern California, we had a bridal shower in each location. This one was thrown by Erik's sisters-in-law, Mary and Lisa, and was held at the Packers' house, the place where Erik and I first met. The party included food, presents and games.
Oakdale Bridal Shower | This bridal shower was hosted by Rebecca Day, Carol Smeltzer and my mom. Rebecca ordered catered sushi and brought in low tables with cushioned seats for each guest. Each table was adorned with a live fighting fish centerpiece, which doubled as a party favor at the end.
TRUE Love IS EVERLASTING | My favorite game was planned by Carol. Before the shower she had sent Erik a list of questions and told him to record himself answering them. At the shower, I was | then asked the same questions, and if I gave the same answers Erik did I would get a prize. It was a fun way for everyone in Northern California to see Erik, as many had not met him yet. (Also, we answered almost every question the same way!) The picture above is in response to the question: "What is 'your song' as a couple?" (We got this one right.)

has such an amazing and kind heart. He has never met a stranger and everyone loves him. He truly is my perfect other half. Kelly and I have fun together, which to me is very important. She keeps me focused and organized and is a hard worker but she still knows how to cut loose and have a good time. Life would not be complete without her.
