1: To whom this may concern: Enclosed in this file are photos and information on the HSA class formerly known as 10-C. During their time here, 10-C continually proved themselves as the best class to date. While there were some that strove to bring “excellence to a new level of mediocrity,” the general demeanor and legacy of 10-C is nothing short of pure excellence. To those MSCs that came before, thank you for your service and for paving the way. To every class that will follow, good luck trying to outshine our legacy. - HSA Class 10-C

2: Course: J3OBR41A1-00AB Health Services Administration Description: This course provides training for newly commissioned Medical Service Corps (MSC) officers for their first duty assignment. Training will include familiarization to the Air Force Medical Service including medical administration core competencies of communication and analysis. Training will also include the primary functional roles of the MSC officer: medical readiness and planning, health plan management, medical logistics and facilities, medical resources, and information services. This base-level knowledge will culminate with instruction in how the patient care delivery process works in both in-garrison and expeditionary environments. The course is designed to incorporate team interaction through case studies, role playing, problem solving, and group dynamics. It also emphasizes personal interaction within the medical facility and interpersonal relationships with all members of the Air Force community

4: Designed in 1999, the HSA course seal represents both the instructors and students who attend the course. After careful consideration, each aspect of the seal is based on important aspects of the Medical Service Corps (MSC) officer's commitment to excellence, continual growth and leadership. The light blue background in the middle of the seal represents the new MSC officers. As new officers, there is a need to grow and to develop. HSA is the beginning of this process and the "blueing" of our new officers is a major focal point of the course. The dark blue background on the edge of the seal indicates the growth and maturing which takes place in the students as they attend the HSA school (and throughout their careers).

5: Though this is an introductory course, the three corps badges are intentionally included on the seal to represent the tight bond between all levels of the MSCs. For junior MSC officers, the badges are a reminder of the advancement and higher level of responsibility we should strive to attain. For the senior Medical Service Corps officers, the badges are a reminder of their obligation to mentor, train and "grow" junior officers. The two American flags represent the two distinct, yet connected, roles MSC officers have as citizens of the United States of America: that of a military member and as a local community advocate. The flags cross in the center of the staffs to represent the fine balance that must be maintained between career, family and other commitments.

13: Using their powers for good, the HSA staff helped 10-C learn the true power of the MSC. Forming their own HSA Justice League, they unite to provide young MSCs with the knowledge they need to succeed in today's USAF. Just sayin'.

19: In the past, HSA was 11 weeks. 10-C was so good, we did it in four. However, we cannot claim 100% ownership of the idea. The course was an intense four weeks consisting of lecture, guest speakers, progress checks, one USAF test, and a capstone project.

20: Contrary to the opinion given by the staff, 10-C did manage to find time to have some fun. Weekend BBQs, 50 cent tacos, and one hibachi grill adventure later, 10-C played just as hard as it worked.
