24: MATHCOUNTS CLUB | This year, the math club competed in national and local competitions. We held practice sessions where we discussed problem-solving techniques. | This year three of our students, Emmy Garcia, John Thomson, and Carla Kipton competed in the school district science bowl competition. | SCIENCE QUIZ BOWL

25: DANCE CLUB | The dance club met twice a week to go over the technique and history of dance. This year we studied ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and modern dance. | PHOTO CLUB | The photo club helps students form a love for the art of taking photos. The areas we studied this year included portraits, nature photography, street photography, and sports photography

26: This year the Cougars made it all the way to the state championships! We worked really hard. | We grew together as a team this year and really succeeded in developing our sports skills.

27: The team did an amazing job working on advancing their skills!

28: Music education was a big part of our year. Students were educated in various instruments, including the piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, electric bass, and voice. We had two concerts this year, in the fall and spring. These provide students with performance experience and build confidence. This year we focused on classic foundational music and ended the year with a rock and roll music festival, where our students showed their classmates their wide range of musical talent.

29: Students traveled this year to the San Francisco Symphony Hall to hear the musical stylings of Cleveland Orchestra and Franz Welser-Mst. Sarah Bartolome presented a session about multicultural music. She was obviously very well-educated on the subject. | We worked with the actors club to present four musical productions this year. It was truly spectacular night. We had a great time practicing for the plays and make a lot of lasting friendships. We sold out tickets every night! | We had a special guitar instructor teach us how to play modern rock songs.

30: The formal dance theme this year was "Stars and Magic." We transformed our gym into a magical dance floor with a disco ball, hanging star decorations, and a wide array of catered snacks and desserts.

31: We had a live band play all our favorite songs and we danced the night away! There was a photo booth to take fun group photos and we had a section of arcade games brought in as well. There was fun to be had by all.

32: School spirit week was so fun this year! We started off the week wearing the school colors, and had fun games.

33: We had a varsity basketball game that week and we had 99% attendance, our best attendance record ever! Everyone wore school colors and we beat the Lions by 13 points! We had a new cheer that was practiced all week and it got the crowd excited to win! Later in the week we had a dance to celebrate our school spirit. The theme was “fifties” and we danced to some classic songs and learned how to do the twist. | We set up carnival games like baseball toss, a dunk tank, and lawn bowling. We even got Mr. Carter to sit on the dunk tank!

34: This year we went on a class trip to the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. We walked around the area a bit to take in the wonderful view and we saw art from all over the world. | We also went on a nature retreat to the Muir Woods.

35: Here we learned about our delicate ecosystem and how global warming has affected our local wildlife. We learned more about recycling and how to do our part to help the world.

36: We love hanging out with our friends, and this is a list of the things we love doing: going out to the movies, concerts, theme parks, hanging out at the mall, bowling, and playing video games.

38: This year we loved setting trends, from the latest clothing styles, hairstyles, and makeup to backpack and even gym shoes. This year we were all about colorful, bright tops, skinny jeans, Chuck Taylor All Stars, TOMS shoes, cool Ray-ban sunglasses, UGGS, North face jackets, and any jewelry from Claire’s.

39: So many middle school memories. It's amazing looking back how everyone has changed. I will miss everyone! I will always remember the best times I had at this school. My friends, my concerts, my teachers, and all those who made this year the best yet. | This year, we were all about reading the Twilight series. We love hanging out with our friends, and this is a list of the things we loved doing this year: going out to the movies, concerts, theme parks, hanging out at the mall, bowling, and playing video games.
