2016 Mixbook Scholarship Winners

Congratulations to the winners of our 2016 Mixbook scholarship! Each winner received a $1,000 scholarship towards their tuition for the 2016-2017 school year.

The winners are:

• Kelsey Rieger from Pennsylvania State University, who is majoring in Art Education
• Shea Howe from Michigan State University, who is majoring in Psychology

Applicants had to answer one of the following essay prompts:

Question 1

If you could go back in time and be in any historical moment captured in a photograph, which image would you choose and why? Please include the photograph or a link to the photograph you are writing about.

Question 2

At Mixbook, we help you tell your story by placing your photographic art in a book, a card, on a canvas, etc. Do you think it is important in our increasingly digital world to be able to continue to interact with visual and graphical art in a physical medium? Why or why not?
