October is almost HALF OVER. WHAT! Let's try to savor our October days with not just an overpriced pumpkin spiced latte, but with appreciation for the best holiday ever: Halloween! October launches the holiday crafting season, and you know you we'll be covered in glitter daily.

Mixbook's brand new Modern Halloween photo book was inspired by today's most popular Halloween craft colors and textures.

Walking through our local craft store, gave us so many exciting ideas when designing this book. We pulled inspiration from washi tape, organic textures, trendy patterns and more.

The Color Palette

The first two colors people associate with Halloween are orange and black. There are actually many more fun colors you can play with for a more colorful holiday. Different  shades of these core colors are a great starting point. Deep purples, autumn yellows, rustic oranges, cream tinted whites, and playful greens give you more creativity to work with.

Textures & Patterns

Natural textures are very popular for Halloween. Take advantage of the whimsical side of the holiday with stripes, chevron, herringbone, and diamond patterns. Halloween decorations often include chalkboard textures, wood, and distressed canvas or linen. These crafty designs can easily be incorporated into your holiday decorations.
