1: I chose this topic because I didn't know a lot about D-day. I heard about it in the book Anne Frank: Diary of a young girl so I thought it would be a good subject to research.

2: I knew it was an invasion during World War II. Sources: Encyclopedia's the World Edition 2006 and 1999. The Story of D-day by: Bruce Bliven Battle of World War II by: Neil Tonge. Anne Frank: Diary of A Young Girl by: Anne Frank.

3: D-Day started on June 6, 1944 because it was the first step to save Europe and make Hitler surrender. Also, the allies were trying to take over French ports and win the war. | When and why did it start and end ?

4: What happened and who was involved? | The allies were America,Britain, and Canada. They invaded France ports to take control so Germany soldiers couldn't move across Europe . The invasion was the largest in history with 6,000 ships,11,000 planes and 156,00 men. It was the largest sea to land invasion.

5: How did it affect World War II? | D-day was a turning point for World War II because it led to the end of the war. Some say it was the beginning of the end.

6: Conclusion D-day was on June 6,1944. America, Britain and Canada attacked Germany on the Normandy coast. The allies were led by General Dwight D. Eisenhower.

7: I learned a lot researching this topic. I didn't know that D-day had to be postponed until the next day because of the weather. I didn't realize that it was the largest sea to land invasion. | What I learned?
