FC: Jane | Denise

A glimpse into our life together

We want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family. We know that it is with much courage and love in your heart that you are considering making an adoption plan for your baby. We hope that it will give you comfort in knowing the kind of life, endless love and opportunities we can offer your child.

Our strong desire to become parents is what lead us to adoption. We both always knew we wanted to become parents. Today, we couldn't be more ready to begin our family. We have so much love, are financially secure and have a wonderful home in which to raise a family. The only thing missing is a child to love and to share our lives with. It will be our greatest blessing and dream come true when we become parents.

Denise's story: | I was adopted and have always been surrounded by much love, stability and security from my entire family. I have one brother and one sister. We have always been a very close family.

Growing up, our family spent many weekends at our Aunt and Uncle's dairy farm. I still remember the fun we had jumping hay bails, making corn husk dolls, milking the cows and feeding the baby calves. When the sun went down, we would run around the yard catching fireflies in glass jars. I was convinced that if I caught enough fire flies in my jar, I would be able to use it as a night light! If we weren't at the farm, we were at the lake swimming, boating, skiing or fishing. The evenings at the lake often ended with a family cookout...hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and yummy desserts! | I spent a lot of time during high school at football, basketball and baseball games with friends and family. When summer rolled around, I enjoyed working as a summer cohesion leader at the local High school. My group consisted of 5-7 yr olds. We spent much of our time outside taking field trips to local zoos, state parks, and lakes. Days were filled with picnics, games of tag and kick ball. I have always loved children, just being around them brings out my inner child. I believe that there is nothing better than being able to live life again through the eyes of a child.

Hi, I'm Jane! Often known as the "Funny One!" I see myself as insightful, intelligent and most of all very positive and happy. One thing I believe could bring a sense of inner peace and joy to my life is a baby! | Jane's story:

My childhood memories include playing outdoor games with neighborhood friends, swimming, biking, travel and family picnics. My sisters live in Florida, where I would vacation, spend time at the beach, and take trips to Disney World. My brother and I spent time together playing baseball and listening to music. To this day, some of the things I enjoy doing in my spare time include playing the drums, biking, listening to music, and traveling.

Denise talks about Jane | Jane is my best friend and soul mate. I would describe her as upbeat and always fun to be around, very intelligent, outgoing and someone who can make friends with anyone. She's quick witted and can make me laugh so hard that my ribs ache!

She has a love of music and is often heard playing her drums to the latest number one song in the Top 40! She is always up for going to a movie and loves being a movie critic. Reading is yet another passion of Jane's. | She is looking forward to sharing all of her interests and talents with our child. | Jane has her Masters degree in Nursing and is working as a Nurse practitioner...she not only loves her career but is very good at it! She was my inspiration to become a Registered Nurse. She is an incredibly affectionate, compassionate, and loving person which will make her such a great mom! I am truly blessed to be able to share my life with her and believe our child will be just as blessed!

Jane talks about Denise: | I often refer to Denise as my "better half." I can't imagine life without her. She is a loving, caring person, and I know she is "meant" to be a mother. I've seen this in her interactions with children both personally and professionally. Denise is an RN in a fast paced Emergency room. I've seen her in "action" with both babies and children. She truly is a natural.

At home, she enjoys crafting and making her own greeting cards. Her work is impeccable and others have even offered to purchase her creations! Denise cares so deeply for everyone she meets! She is my best friend and life partner. She sees the good in everyone and is truly a positive person. She generates happiness where ever she goes and I know I am a better person for having her in my life. She will be an amazing mom!

Jane and Denise together: | Our relationship is built on love and trust. We met through Denise's friend who just so happened to be Jane's cousin. Our first outing was at the local park, we played a game of miniature golf. (Denise won...Jane let her win!) We ended our outing with a double scoop of chocolate mint ice cream for Denise and a chocolate/vanilla twist with crunch coat topping for Jane.

We had a Commitment ceremony 4 years ago and have stood by each other through happy times and sad times. We both know these experiences have made us much stronger as a couple. We believe that respect, unconditional love and keeping an open, honest line of communication with each other are the keys to our successful relationship. We know it is our responsibility to instill these characteristics into our child's life by serving as good role models.

Our parents live less than one mile from each other and a two hour drive from us. We all spend time together on weekends. They can't wait to have the opportunity to spend time with a new grandchild! They are very loving and supportive and are looking forward to being grandparents again!

All of our siblings are excited to welcome a precious baby into our family! Denise's sister has already claimed the title of "Favorite Aunt." She has some tough competition if she plans on holding that title! Most of our friends have young children so there will be plenty of play dates. Our friends are exceptionally supportive and excited for us, in our hopes to adopt a baby. They feel we would be terrific parents and have expressed how lucky any child would be to be a part of our family.

Family | Our families are big on traditions. We look forward to sharing these with our little one! | The Fall brings apple picking, pumpkin carving and hay rides. | We both come from families who enjoy cooking together. Holidays have always included meals cooked together as a family.

Traditions | Christmas includes attending Christmas Eve mass, wrapping presents, baking and cooking family recipes that have been handed down from generations past. | In the Spring, we participate in Easter egg hunts and spend countless hours searching for Easter baskets. | Just about every occasion when family members come together, there is a tale or two shared that is pretty outlandish and funny. Acting goofy and making each other laugh is always a given in both families.

Jane's | As a child, I remember my father taking me on hikes in the fall. I can still feel the crisp branches crunch under my feet as we walked together taking in the sweet autumn air. My dad also took me on many fishing trips. He showed me how to bait a hook and cast a line. To this day, he and I make time to go fishing every Spring.

Traditions | My mom is a fantastic cook and taught me the finer points of "home cooking." Serving food so that each dish is hot is an art in itself! To this day I'm proud to say, I have no problem serving a 4-6 course meal piping hot! | My older sisters taught me how to swim and often took me swimming on weekends. As I got older, they even taught me the finer points of make-up application. | My brother spent time teaching me how to ride a bike and climb a tree. He was quite an athlete and as a family we would watch him pitch at his baseball games. I would cheer for him and feel a sense of pride just knowing that was my "big brother."

Denise's | We enjoy our family time together. Family dinners were very important to us. Every evening, we gathered around the dinner table and discussed how our day went. It became a time to regroup and catch up with one another. The best family dinner was the "birthday dinner" because the birthday girl/boy was able to pick what would be served. I always picked "Brinner"... (breakfast for dinner) It's still my favorite meal today! | Camping was something we spent time doing as a family. My father would take us in the boat during the day to "catch dinner." He and my brother would do the fishing while my sister and I had other plans for the fishing expedition...sunbathing! Evenings at the campsite were spent around the campfire making s'mores and telling ghost stories. My brother would scare us later that night when we were sleeping, then run off laughing.

traditions | I remember from the time my siblings and I could walk, we Polka danced. Two times a week my parents loaded everyone in the station wagon and took us to dance class. We would perform frequently at different events, but what we loved most was competing. We would enter every competition we could find. Dancing was a family affair. Everyone danced...parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Even going to our local county fair became "all about dance." We would be there every day dancing through the night.

Our | We live in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home that sits back from the road. Our street is circular so there is little traffic which makes it great for biking, walking and the neighborhood games of street hockey. Our back yard is big enough for a swing set and it's great for playing tag and summer games. We also enjoy hosting summer parties and cookouts with family and friends. We are within walking distance to a park, the local library, and great bike trails. The Elementary, Middle and High schools are next to one another and sit right behind our home. It's just a walk out the back door and through the yard and you are there. It's an ideal place for a child to be able to make childhood memories.

In closing | If you choose us to be the parents of your child, we want you to know that you will always be in our hearts and never forgotten. We will always speak highly of you and will make sure that your child knows how much love that it took for you to make an adoption plan for them. As they grow and have questions, we will tell him/her how brave and selfless you were to choose adoption for him/her to ensure that they could have the best life possible.
