S: Alabama's youngest admirals

FC: Alabama's Youngest Admirals by James L. (Buddy) Estes

1: The bridge you see here is in Wetumpka AL on the Coosa River. This is near were Buddy, Sweet Pea, James, Phil , and Joe start their voyage down the Alabama River to Mobile.

3: While on this journey the young admirals encounter raging currents, hidden stumps, poisonous snakes, and hungry alligators and the boys are only armed with a hatchet and a single .22 rifle.

5: Throughout their voyage they were continually being interviewed by news reporters and passersby. Everyone wished them well. Some interviewers even went as far as to make cakes for them!

7: When they finally made it to Mobile the young admirals had drawn attention from across the country as the first people to raft down the Alabama River. The picture to the left is a sunset on the Alabama River looking at the city of Mobile
