2: The Anglo-Saxon is the oldest known period of culture with a structured government, values in art and literature.This time period had many advances in society, religion, government and culture.
3: Before becoming the Anglo-Saxon they were three individual groups. The Jutes. The Angles, and The Saxons.
4: WHO WERE THE SAXONS? | Saxon is the generic term for people in Germany. The Saxons are people from north west Germany. They settled in South and West of England | The Saxons invaded at the time of the collapse of Roman authority within its empire. Other groups such as the Angles, and the Jutes also invaded and migrated during the same era
5: THE JUTES The Jutes are believed to have originated from areas of Jutland and Frisian coast. The Jutes also joined with the Saxons and The Angles to become and the Anglo-Saxons and invaded Britain in the 5th century.
6: The Anglo-Saxon's were pagans when they came to Britain but eventually converted to Christianity. As pagans they would worship more than one god. Depending on what they were praying for some days they would pray to a god and other days several gods.
7: T he occupied the central part of southern Britain and the Northern and Eastern coast. | WHO ARE THE ANGLES? | They joined with the Saxons and the Jutes to become the Anglo- Saxons
8: The Anglo-Saxon were powerful. They invaded and absorbed weaker neighborhoods to establish major kingdoms. In each of the kingdoms a king was chosen from the royal family. most of the people living in the kingdoms were peasant freemen usually farmers living in villages. Farming, raising livestock, and fishing were major occupations. Fighting was a way a life for the Anglo-Saxon.
